Alluria Publishing latest Pathfinder PC race hits virtual shelves today with the Squole; the game's first player character ooze.
Expanding the arcane formula that created the gelatinous cube, a species of benevolent slime created human-shaped ambassadors to help prove to the multiverse that not all slime is awful, not all jellies are ochre, and ooze doesn't have to be a four-letter word...well not a bad one in any case. Not quite human, these mannequin-like slimes take on adventurous tasks to prove their worth, discover the secret to humanity, and generally add a lot of flavor to any campaign. Tailored especially for the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, the squole represent the only adventuring ooze that isn't a dungeon denizen. Featuring some excellent color artwork by Eugene Jaworski.

Why does the slime have boobs?

Why does the slime have boobs? Sheesh, people seem obsessed with the boobs lately! hehehe....As the document describes, female looking squoles have breasts because they were literally and purposefully patterned after human females, who normally have breasts...think of it like a human-shaped jell-O mold. More specifically, a council of oozes got together and decided what female form they would use, and all female-looking squole have this same form. Male squoles share the same form as all other male squoles. So, to answer your question, female-looking squoles have breasts for the same reason that mannequins have breasts...it makes them look more human. Also, lets not forget the squole is color-blind (as well as all sorts of blind), before we get into the whole "Why aren't they skin-colored then?" and so on...

I just figured that since ooze is essentially genderless, why they wouldn't just use an androgynous / neutral physical shape. But if they wanted to look like human females for some reason, I guess that's the option.

Well, as described in the document, squoles venerate humans as the most successful species in the multiverse...and wish to fit in with them and learn their ways. They found emulating both genders to be beneficial. Humans have trouble relating to genderless. If you were a genderless emissary into a gender-based land, would you want to be addressed as "sir..mada...it?" or simply adopt one gender or the other to eliminate this obstacle?
