I'm cleaning out my closets to make room and money for more stuff. I thought about starting a thread somewhere offering a "pre-eBay sale" but I'm not sure that doesn't somehow violate some kind of "don't be a jerk" policy.

I am however offering Pre-eBay prices on all the things I'm selling to any FAWTL refugees interested. I'm offering a 5% discount before it goes up on eBay. PM if interested. Most of the stuff is from the 3.0/3.5 era, as well as some old World of Darkness stuff.

There have been people posting stuff up for sale here on the forums pretty frequently and the staff doesn't seem to have much issue with it. So if you wanted to I imagine there wouldn't be a problem.

Yes, but where to post such a thread...

Good luck with the sale, JMD (I'd say put it in Gamer Connection) and I'm sorry to hear about the Lords of Chaos.

We've had two "running the adventure" sessions for RotRL and it's been fun, but it's not as much fun writing up stuff you ran as it is stuff you made up.

Anyway, we did add a character to the party, a Varisian cleric of Desna named Bovolio Bormolio (not sure if that's exactly right, but it's close) who fights with a starknife and a bladed scarf and, for some reason, has an Italian accent.

Let's see, some stuff I made up without spoilers: (EDIT: with spoilers clearly marked)

Warren Bilger, half-elven wizard, is staying at the local orphanage/school where the headmaster has placed a "problem student" under his care and supervision. Tristan has so far evinced powers similar to the kid in Looper and at the pie-eating contest during the Swallowtail Festival, stole a scene from a popular Rob Reiner film.

I had to improvise some gypsy-themed stuff for Bovolio, and I couldn't come up with much, but lucky me I already had some Varisian NPCs that I made him related to. I also dropped some seeds for a possible Black Jack Davey type scenario with his sister. (Who was already established as smoking hawt.) I also made up some gypsy chicks for him to try to bang, but, both of them ended up sleeping with Trent Redwater instead. !!!

Turns out Ollycron Fossa wants to be a Brightness Seeker and a dreamspeaker, which were things I didn't even know about, but I have had to improvise mystical Buddhist shiznit for him and let him have visions and he even sent a dream to his sister

Spoiler:
Shalelu
to meet him in town, which, I have to admit, I didn't see coming. Thankfully, he only played for an hour before he had to go to work.

Meanwhile, Jack Truth's mother wasn't home, and his brother Harry wasn't happy to see him. So he tomcatted around town visiting his old underworld connections and visiting his sister Olive, who is working as an actress in the Town Theater and appears to be married to a gay human. It is unclear whether her family approves.

Jack already tried to drum up some "work" with his underworld contacts, and I'm thinking of putting him at cross purposes with Bovolio--maybe have the Sczarni need him to steal something from

Spoiler:
Madame Mvashti
.

Anyway, everybody claims to be having fun even though I told them last week that we are playing on the slow track.

Jack Truth fights with a masterwork battle flow wand. How would that work? you ask. I don't know, but I don't understand how you're supposed to fight with a starknife or a bladed scarf, either.

So, I was walking along 55th street on Friday in Manhattan, and I heard a guy behind me whistling La Marseillaise. It was kind of surreal. I couldn't help but think to myself, "What is Comrade Anklebiter doing in Manhattan?"

Anyway... "Vive le Galt!"

Anyone know of where I can find adventures that take place in the Mwangi Expanse besides the Serpent's Skull AP as I'm trying to include more adventures into the AP?

I'll be all around in the dark - I'll be everywhere. Wherever you can look - wherever there's a fight, so hungry people can eat, I'll be there. Wherever there's a cop beatin' up a guy, I'll be there. I'll be in the way guys yell when they're mad. I'll be in the way kids laugh when they're hungry and they know supper's ready, and when the people are eatin' the stuff they raise and livin' in the houses they build - I'll be there, too.

Unless it's in the Mwangi Expanse. Sorry, you're on your own JMD.

He'll be there when you and your honey are doing it in a car with fogged up windows. He'll be there when you've got a half-hour to kill waiting for the roast in the oven, you and the misses are both on your second glass of wine, and hey the counter's clear. He'll be there at the Christmas party when you've had a little too much and that foxy co-worker pulls you into the deserted copier room for some Noel nookie. He'll be there when your special someone meets you at the door in nothing but heels and a smile. He'll be there when anarchy and panic reigns, everything is going to hell, and you ask yourselves what the f%+% lets do it in the street.

So I gather Doddlebug you accept that endorsement from Pillbug?

Hello everybody how's life?

Yeh just got back from work... Working for a highly successful very evil financial institution is a bit of a downer... It's the corp speak that is s#~!ting me to tears, I want to know do they hand out a phrase book to the suits or what.... I had my employee evaluation today, instead of the under the radar satisfactory rating I aim for I got a valued rating... I don't want managers expecting more of me because I exhibited some common-sense. At least I get a bigger bonus...

My iPad stopped working =(.

Congrats on the bonus, T8D!

Also, could you define for us (i.e. me) the difference between a Bogen and an Ocker?

I may have made both of those words up, but I don't think so.

A Bogen is CR 3, and an Ocker CR 6, no?

I can't find either on the srd.

Sczarni

So it turns out cops aren't all that bad when you're on their team...

At least, up here in the Northeast. Can't speak for the rest of the country, of course.

Thanks mate... The problem is my boss now knows I am competent and will expect me to work harder.... I work to live, I don't live to work. I like to knock off work go home and not worry about what I need to do the next day.

Ocker is an old term... Not used as much Paul Hogan is probably the last of the ockers.

Bogans on the other-hand are best thought of as Australian Chavs, except they have less dress sense and are more interested in V8s....

When I am not on my mobile I will link some examples.

Nobody Likes a Bogan.... the musical interlude.

More bogan music.

Okay, so it should've been Bogan: CR 1/8, Ocker: CR Crocodile Dundee.

Bogan = Redneck. Got it.

I still don't know what Ocker means.

Not sure if we have an American equivalent of someone like that. I mean we have beer swilling individuals who live in the woods but not sure what we call them.

Ockers are no longer around... Some devolved into Bogans the rest faded away.

It depends on how well armed we are. ;)

My friends and I played a one shot game where we made 20th level characters to fight a Great Wyrm Red Dragon. The encounter was a third party book by Interaction Point Games link here. I highly suggest it.

Anyways, I made a Admixture Sub-Specialist Wizard who could turn all of his spells into another element if he wanted to and because I wanted to be a spell caster. The rest of the party included a ranger, another wizard and a fighter.

So I'm normally the guy who runs the games and it's been a while since I played a character so I was really, really rusty. Let's just say I died...twice and I made a lot of tactical errors. But overall it was a fun time.

So the person who A. did the most damage and B. survived the whole encounter was my brother who played the fighter. This was interesting to me as lots of people make a big deal that melee characters get overshadowed by spellcasters at higher levels. I think it's more about how the player behind the character than the character on the sheet. But whatever, we had a good time and killed a Dragon.

Oh, also, the Ranger was "working for the Dragon" and when both of the Spellcasters were dead he decided to attack the fighter...and then proceeded to become very dead. The Vital Strike feat chain is awesome. And we all had a good time.

I have that book. It's not a bad dragon.

Actually, it is a bad dragon. It's also a pretty tough one.

Huh, maybe I look into that.

We ran a dragon challenge of our own while waiting for the actual GM of our epic level game. One of the players pulled out Monsters of Norrath and set us against Dozekar the Accursed or something. He was like 20 CRs above us, had ridiculous 3rd edtion stats, it was pretty hopeless.

Until he rolled a 1 on the Fort save for Touch of Golden Ice.

Heh-heh. Events like that always remind me of a friend's monk character in 3.0 Forgotten Realms game. Enemy wizard cast disintegrate on him. He said: "No worry, I can only fail that save on natural 1". Obviously, he rolled natural one. *poof*. One instant monk. Just add water.

Just about done with the Catacombs of Wrath section in "Burnt Offerings:"

Spoiler:
Last game ended with Jack Truth deciding to mimic the quasit (who had gotten away) and dripping his blood into the minor runewell of wrath. Party figured out what was going on and left the room. Game ended.

This game started with them thinking they'd just open the door, kill a sinspawn and get movin', but, instead they found that they weren't the only ones who could bleed into the minor runewell. They popped the door open and unleashed a volley at the sinspawn standing over the runewell. They killed him. He fell into the runewell. Bubble, bubble, bubble...[Hee hee!]

Had to make up some fun shiznit when Warren Bilger, half-elven wizard, ran up and dumped the water out of the runewell. The water turned into an elemental that could make each of the party members it hit turn on other party members. It affected Bovolio and Warren and, I must say, they did more to kick PC ass than any stupid monster or NPC yet.

Anyway, yada yada yada, the quasit rounded up the rest of her followers, the party killed them, the quasit fled again. The PCs tracked her, realized she was invisible, doused her with a create water spell, flung powedered chalk into the air, grappled her and sawed off her head with her own tiny +1 cold iron returning dagger.

Meanies, I say...

Liberty's Edge

ahaha wow my party grappled her too (I may have already said it here but it was KC's familiar, who died, driving him to retrain from wizard to alchemist)

Thanks. Also, woo hoo! Temporary internets!

Huzzah!!!

Two games have gone by since I last checked in. Spoilered for Orthos and boringness.

Spoiler:
So, I had thrown the entirety of the Catacombs of Wrath's inhabitants at the party last session, but they didn't know that, so they retreated to the surface where they alerted the constabulary, posted guards at the Glassworks and got some sleep. They went back down the next morning, and it seemed wrong for there be nothing for them to fight so I repopulated some of the unexplored rooms with sinspawn and added some fancy whizbang levers and whatnot that released all the zombies from the pits--except they were fast, plague-ridden zombies.

Anyway, the party fought valiantly and prevailed and went back to town and spent an hour making intricate plans to defend Sandpoint, clear out the Brinestump Marsh, protect the farmlands from goblin incursion, etc., etc., not realizing that they were wasting their and my time because I was going to railroad them to Thistletop.

Bovolio (Varisian cleric of Desna) had been waiting for a chance to meet with Madame Mvashti, who appeared to him in the form of an arrow-pierced pelican who told him she had been killed by a bunch of goblins led by a couple of longshanks who happened to resemble the pinkskins that the Shoanti PCs were looking for, and, oh, by the way, she also happened to see that they had kidnapped Shalelu, who in my game is a sister of one of the PCs. She also told him to beware Malfeshnekor and, if he liked, he could go to her house and get a +1 cold iron starknife. And then she died.

So, yeah they headed to Thistletop, but, the end of the gaming session in sight, I decided that instead of a little itty-bitty gobbo ambush on the road like the AP suggested instead I'd throw a huge gobbo ambush at them with 2 goblins (4 of the 12 on goblin dogs) for each PC and all of the pregens from We Be Goblins, too!

Hee hee! It was epic. The best parts were when Mogmurch blew up the party's wagon and when Warren Bilger (half-elf wizard) used Warg, his kitty familiar, to deliver a ghoul touch spell on Poog.

So, that was awesome, but I am afraid to report that the session ended with the party planning to interrogate Poog, and, as preparation for that ordeal, murdering defenseless, sleeping goblins in front of his eyes. I can't believe it! My own players, anti-goblin racists!

Down with Paizo

Vive le Galt!

(I'll write the other one up later.)

How many members of your party are native to Varisia?

Continued a Serpent's Skull campaign. Almost had the entire party killing themselves due to Pezock. Good times.

Gark the Goblin wrote:

Griff Keytol and Trent Redwater are Shoanti tribesmen who used to hang out with the Horselords of Velashu.

Warren Bilger graduated from the University of Riddleport.

Ollycron Fossa is from Bright Leaf up near Celwynvian (or whatever it's called).

Bovolio Bomarel is a Varisian wanderer.

Jack Truth was born and bred in Sandpoint.

Last game (which I haven't written up yet) my lone female player was able to get the day off from work, so she brought Dalscata Took, who until recently was interred in a Galtan gulag. (She wasn't there the day the whole party died; consequently I let her keep her character, but then she got a new job and has to work on most game days.)

What's up in Garkland, Gark?
