I decided to ressurect an old friend!!!

2009-2010 Predictions!

Who's ready for some FOOTBALL!!!!!

Sovereign Court

Woo! Eagles!

Dark Archive

The Cards have given me hope that the Niners might be able to make a come back in the next season or two.

Another mediocre year to look forward to from the Raiders. Although with all the crazy stuff going on in Denver and San Diego, they might be able to sneak into the playoffs. And get destroyed.

Dark Archive

The Traitors deserve what they get.

I'll be so happy when Al Davis is no longer part of the organization.

Liberty's Edge

My hopes are not very high for the Panthers this year.

Maybe they'll go .500.

I know there are plenty of haters, but Go Cowboys!

If not Cowboys, then anyone but the Patriots or Steelers.

Or anyone in the NFC East.

Or any of the New York teams.

Yeah...anyone else.

"Mediocre" would be an improvement...

It's funny that the city that stole the Raiders in the first place call them the traitors For going back where they belong.

Of course, L.A. is possibly the worst sports town in America for real (not fair weather or fashionable) fans, so, eh...

Tell you what, as long as they are not playing Dallas, I will route for Detroit this year. Is that a non-bandwagon fan? How does that work?

The Lions reflect the city. they went 0-16 last year, Detroit, the city, has gone 0-since the early 60s...

Actually I started calling them the Traitors when they went from Oakland to L.A. I had been a fan until then.

They managed to work up to mediocre at the end of the season. :)

That was...yep...Al Davis following the money.

I think Brady is trying to not play football this season either

Liberty's Edge

Hmmm, kick it with Giselle in Aspen or shower with 53 dudes a few hours after 11 other dudes just tried to kill you...

I was thinking basically the same thing. I'm guessing that Brady can pretty much retire from the NFL if he wants to.

Any guesses how his understudy is going to do at Kansas City? IMO, it's going to be a long year for Matt Cassel.

Dark Archive

I think Cassel got a swelled head from being in NE and is going to bomb horribly.

Now watch, the Chiefs win the Super Bowl....

Since all they have to do is win the AFC West to get into the playoffs, which won't be difficult, some miracles could happen during the playoffs. Then the joke would be on all of us.

I have to disagree with you there. I enjoy American Football and Soccer. I believe Soccer has never caught on here in the states because it is not high scoring enough. Hockey may be low scoring too, but you have fights. You know…'cause we miss our coliseum and lions.

From what I hear the primary complaint about American football and baseball are that they are too slow. At least Canadian football sees more scoring. How many touchdowns do you guys see in a typical game?

Hockey? Show me a faster game. You know how fast that puck is moving? How about those guys with knives on their feet? And if you want to see fans on the edge catch a breakaway in a playoff game. And don't blink, cuz it's going fast.

The fighting in hockey has little to do with the intensity.

I am a cheese head. Go Pack.

Australian Rules football is a very fast game good to play difficult to watch as the ball travels the field too fast.

If you want an insane game that is fast and is a combination of soccer and field hockey Hurley is your sport. I was caught the all Ireland finals (Limerick versus Cork) a few years ago. You can swing your stick above your head, you can attack the other players legs. There is no padding or helmets - Saw one guy take a stick to the face... after he hit the ground a trainer ran on gave his face a bit of a spray from the water bottle and he was back up and in the game.

My personal preference is Rugby Union.... Go the Tah's

For American football I picked the Redskins to support (We don't say "root for" in Australia as the phrase has very different connotations). To me American football is more of a game of Chess with the coach having playing a greater tactical role. Although I don't know how many quarterbacks would like to be described as a Queen.

Well, he had to do something to get his mind off losing Mary to Ted. Otherwise he'd just be sitting around with Woogie, Tucker, Healy and the crazy old fisherman with the rifle listening to Warren say, "Franks and Beans, Franks and Beans!"

That would be a sucky retirement.

Marino seemed to find something to do, and that is without ever winning a Super Bowl.

Dark Archive

Yeah, well Marino's kid is going to bring home that ring for his dad.

Dear lord, no child should be put under that sort of pressure.

Dark Archive

Then daddy should have won his own ring. ;-)

Sovereign Court

Just think when Favre starts living vicariously through his kids...

Dark Archive

I just discovered NFL Replay on the NFL Network. Now I will never have to go without football again.

the eagles beat a REALLY bad team yesterday. the cowboys beat a team many predicted to make the playoffs. i don't see the eagles doing much against big D, frankly...
We shall see, you never know if the Cowboys will have an opportunity to pick up some more criminals to add to their roster...

Well you got us there. At least the Eagles would never sign a convicted felon.

Will he or won't he, the Brett Farve soap opera begins anew.

He will. Until his shoulder gives out 7 games into the season. Then it's all Tavaris Jackson.

I was thrilled to learn my team's head coach has learned the motivational technique of putting assistant coaches in the hospital. If only more leaders did this. Really, if someone f%+@s up where I work, it would be great if the VP of Engineering just beat that s!+! out of him.

Dark Archive

Or else he will throw a record number of interceptions and still somehow get the Vikings into the playoffs.

Wow, sorry about yesterday Mac. Who would have thought that the Lions could score 27 points and still lose the game?

Sunday's five most valuable players

I found this amusing:
Let's go with a stat from Curt Menefee. During an in-game update to show viewers of other games an Adrian Peterson touchdown run, Menefee used the name Peterson one time, and the name Favre three times. On a touchdown run. I just thought people should know that Peterson, with his 180 yards and three touchdowns, played okay yesterday, too.

Now, I am a Cowboy fan, but Romo? Really? He did well, but I do not think he earned a spot in the top five. Two of those TDs he threw were after the catch and really should go to the receivers.

RPG Superstar 2012

Yesterday gave me some hope for the Raiders. I'm still waiting for the mid-season meltdown, but I'm anticipating a win against the Chiefs this weekend.

Sovereign Court

I'm not sure what to think with Jeff Garcia back in the mix with the Eagles...

How long is McNabb out? They can play Vick by the time they get to most of their conference games if I remember correctly.
