Yeah... I feel your pain.
I was in Saudi Arabia in January 1995 when the Chargers suffered the largest defeat in Super Bowl history... to the 49'ers.
No one (except us fans... it's the dellusions!) expected the Chargers to have a chance, but it still hurt a little to see them get blown out... and at 2 a.m. on a workday, at that.
Still... the Colts/Chargers could go either way. I saw someone called the Chargers the "scariest 8-8 team in history" or something like that.
It should be a really good game.

Bring on the Colts! We'll send them home just like last year!
I know I said it, but it was really just hopeful boasting.
I didn't actually get to see any of the game. We don't have a TV where I work, so we just checked the score every 30 minutes or so.
Well, I guess I get another week of hoping. :)

wow thats a bold prediction but with AP in the backfield anything is possible....it all comes down to if jackson can not lose the game for them because thier defense and running game are great.

I have to say, Arizona looked really good last night. Their defense kept up the pressure, forcing pass plays on third down which, in turn, helped gain those 5 turnovers. Offensively, Warner and Fitzgerald were the killer combo of the game. Some of the catches made were very impressive. Edgerrin James looked OK, but he could be better. All in all, it was an impressive win against a tough team on their home turf.
I only caught the end of the Ravens/Titans game, but I think the titans partly got screwed. On that last drive, the refs completely blew what clearly should have been a delay of game call on Baltimore. That could have been a drive killer right there.
I'm looking forward to the Giants/Eagles game today, and might actually watch it, if only to see the Schmeagles hopefully get their asses kicked.

We don't get much info on the American Football, apparently there is a chance that an Australian will be playing in the Super Bowl for the Cardinals.
Ben Graham a retired AFL player who the Cardinals have as a kicker. Word is that he is injured. Do you think that there is a chance he will play.

Seems to me that kickers are a dime a dozen these days. As long as Warner can keep his head on straight, Fitzgerald can continue his stellar play, and the Card's defense holds up, then they stand a pretty good shot at taking the steelers down.
Happily, I truly have no favorite in this game. I'm simply looking forward to a really great effort from both teams.

I don't really have a dog in this fight either, but it should be a really good game. In the Steelers we have straight ahead, smash mouth football. With the Cardinals we have a serious strategic thinking west coast system. Both a really good teams with smart coaches and smart players. I am going to go out on a limb and say that this is going to be the best Super Bowl in a long time. More importantly I am going to predict a Cardinals win. The Cardinals have given me hope the my Niners can make a comeback in the next couple of seasons.

I think you may just be right Dave. The Cards have been playing some really great football, and they just might pull out a win.
Heel, though, I'm just looking forward to watching the game in HD.

I'll be rooting for the Cards despite them sending my Eagles packing. It's amazing to think that most of this postseason stuff is a first across the board for them.
True. But not for the QB, which could be huge for them.

Anyone wonder if things would have been better for tha Lions if they hadn't cut Sean McHugh?

So; I have been reading about the general manager and the new coach and two new coordinators; seems they want to increase the size of the Lions; I have been saying that for years; especially when I saw one game where we looked like dwarves next to the Pittsburg line that just ran of over time and time again; yep; and getting all ready to be fired up with new hopes and dreams the coming year; thankfully it is still hockey season and I LOVE MY REDWINGS! Woot!
Valegrim wrote:well as usual if u are a lions fan our super bowl is in april with the draft....MAN I HATE BEIN A LOYAL FAN SOMETIMES HA HA HA!!!Ok; once again full of hope; GO LIONS!!!
yeah, I know...pipe dream.

Well I admit that I was wrong. Like every Super Bowl, this has been a game driven by the unexpected. Who would have expected Harrison to run 100 yards for a touchdown? Who would have expected the Cardinals to comeback from being 13 points down, just to blow it at the end? Who would have expected that so-called fumble to not be reviewed? Just goes to show that when it comes to the Super Bowl, you never kbnow what you're going to get.

Was it just me or are any of you sick and tired of all the crappy calls; I hate games that spend more time in rules infractions than playing the game. Seems like the rules are so screwed up nobody even knows the game anymore; add all the reviews and stuff; sheesh. I am so glad Hockey didnt go that way and Baseball doesnt seem to have that problem and seems in Basketball they dont either but I dont really know Basketball to well.
