Lyrie Akenja Ethnicity?

Can anyone from the Paizo team perhaps please elaborate a bit on the background of Lyrie Akenja from Nualia's entourage at Thistletop? She's human, but exotically dark-skinned, so where's she from? Or if she's from Magnimar, where do her people come from?

My PCs let her live and I'm setting her up as an inconvenient psychotic girlfriend for one of the PCs. So I'd like to be able to answer some questions if they come up, after all the PCs probably haven't really seen anyone like her before.

Lyrie is Garrundi (I think I spelled that right); the same ethnicity as Seelah, our iconic paladin. She's from Magnimar, I suspect the bored daughter of a pair of nobles who barely noticed when she left home for a more exciting life as a bandit.

They date vanquished enemies? Gods, they must be really desperate. Not pretty enough for the shopkeep's daughter from Sandpoint? :))

Well she talked her way out of a tight spot when they captured her alive after a fight with Nualia and her. She even got them to let her keep her stuff by pretending to be an actual Pathfinder member and a valuable ally as such. Things progressed from there with the group's conjurer (who was not the one who got involved with the Sandpoint girl) ... :)

Superheroes do it all the time. So it's all good.

Thanks, James! Where is Garrundi (Garrund?) located relative to Varisia? I'm guessing in the south probably?

Garrund is the southern continent, while Avastan is the northern one. Avastan is the continent that Varisia is on. And again... I'm probably mangling the spelling of some of those names...

That said, there's certainly a LOT of Garrundis living on Avastan, so Lyrie's folks didn't necessarily come from Garrund.

Thanks again, I can piece something together from that for her when she gets asked. Well, a few facts and something I'll just make up. I have the feeling she might be a pathological liar. :-)

I have her stats right here. She's not the silver tongued fast-talker. I guess he "made the sense motive check with the wrong ability score", if you know what I mean, wink wink nudge nudge.

Well, now he can go and introduce himself as "Bonder, James Bonder"

Well they really screwed up their Sense Motive checks, and I guess the players wanted to believe her somehow :)

Nice :-)

I'm sure she'll get some opportunities to cause "misunderstandings" and such.

Thanks for this clarification.
In the wiki I found "Varisian" but it was so strange to me.

Like James said, she's from Golarion's "Not Africa".

It contains such places as "Not Egypt" and "Not Sahara Desert" and "Not Congo". Though like people have said, that doesn't necessarily mean she's ever actually been there, just that her relatives are somehow from there.
