New PFRPG Print/PDF Bundle from Jon Brazer Enterprises!

Get ready to turn your Kingmaker game up to 11—Jon Brazer Enterprises has collected the entire Book of the River Nations series into this new release—Book of the River Nations: Complete Player's Reference for Kingdom Building!

When we first started the Kingmaker Adventure Path, we crossed our fingers and hoped that the sandbox approach would be as exciting to everyone as it was to us. In "Rivers Run Red" and "War of the River Kings", we exposed the players to the trials and tribulations of running a kingdom and our first stab at a mass combat system for the Pathfinder RPG. Now Jon Brazer Enterprises has taken those mechanics, collected them into one book, and then expanded upon them for their Book of the River Nations: Complete Player's Reference for Kingdom Building.

New city buildings, castle-specific upgrades, and new hex improvements are just the beginning of what's in this book! An Aviary helps with sending bird-borne messages to the far corners of your kingdom, while the Butcher and Baker improve your kingdom's economy. Castles can gain Art Collections, a Moat, and the ever-useful Anti-Scrying Room. Hex improvements aren't just limited to Farms anymore. Apiaries, Herbal Cultivars, Royal Reserves, and Wineries are just some the new options you can add to your kingdom! Characters in kingdom leadership roles are given a new slew of feats to assist them, and new mass combat spells are provided for when war is inevitable. Finally, organizations (including a few new prestige classes), secret societies, and magic items are included to spice up your kingdom's political scene. Snatch up this great bundle and conquer your enemies today!

I just want to say Thank You to Paizo for another Wonderful blog post!

It's great to see this amazing book on the front page; it really is worth every penny if you're running Kingmaker or jjst like the whole idea of building and running your own kingdom.

Liberty's Edge

Its a great book, but it does miss a couple of things in the PDF. Not sure if the print copy fixes that. And if it does, it should be in the PDF as well. I speak of the following:

1) Icons for the Hex Map (Village, ruin, etc)
2) Images for the City Grid Map

Sure they are in the Kingmaker AP, but what if you don't own Kingmaker? Other than this oversight, I think this book is fantastic.

Excellent blog post.

The Kingmaker icons for the HexMap are part of the community use world map package. Link

The city icons are not, but you can extract them from the Player's Guide if you don't have the AP.

I'm pondering about whether getting this or not. There are already a lot of ideas available on the forums through various house rules for Kingmaker, but does this offer a lot more which is useful and balanced?

The community use package is closed to me as a publisher. But you can use them in your own game. We're working on a "develop your own map" supplement where we'll have our own images. Until then, Kingmaker is the place to go for those details.

The real "selling point" (God, I sound like I'm a corporate stooge) for this the book is is that it takes all the rules in the books and the best of the internet ideas and consolidated them all into one location. We've gotten permission from Jason Nelson for the "open space development" ideas, allowing you to build stuff other than farms in your country side. Then we expanded the number of options. Like the blog post says, we added castle customization options (like moats, wings, gardens, art galleries, torture chambers, etc).

Plus it has magic items. I went over that in one of the previews, which you can read more about here.

Yes, my reply was more aimed at players & GMs who are free to supplement your supplement with other free supplements.:)

Thanks for the link, I'll be checking it out. :)

I can definitely see it as a handy product then, even for those who have the Kingmaker AP.
I'll get the pdf and see how I can use it in my two Kingmaker campaigns.

Liberty's Edge

I totally forgot that those city tiles were in the King Maker Players Guide, however the Hex Icon's aren't. I'm lucky to have the Kingmaker PDFs so I will extract them from there.

Cheers.

Local game stores are supposed to have them in stock on the 17th. Same price to buy them there, and JBE does free PDFs with the print purchase.

Just a suggestion...

Paizo subscriber discount trumps. :) Besides, I'm sure Dale intends to get more stock in -- pronto.
