i have not, my kids love water but for some reason cannot stand any toy that floats, so i'm not spending over 100 bucks on a pirate submarine lol i love how you're thinking tho if you try let us know how it works:)
Not terrain, but we do use the wizkids Pirates constructable miniatures game ships for naval combat. They are about perfect. Vessels take up anywhere between 3 and 1 squares depending...It would've been great if the wizkids/Paizo relationship had included the actual ships from this AP in a giant pack.

Anyone tried to use Playmobil ships for S&S 3D terrain?
I have one and it looks like it is really close to the scale for the Wormwood/Man's Promise.

Yes, it's close to scale in length and width, but that's all imho.
Playmobil figurines are approx. double the heigth of the 28mm scale Minis. In fact it is like a big rowboat...It will look like this, if you place twenty pirates on the deck:
It's still a good option if you just want to add fun and 3D to your campaign. If you want the whole ship and play at all decks or give it a real feeling, then you have to use deck plans/maps or a real to-scale-model.
