Everyone else figured that Voss differed brain damage from the first fall, which caused the second, which caused him to actually join in on a rum drinking contest (any other game he would have aced. With his 10 Con, he was destined for failure. The worst part is that he couldn't have possibly succeed in the last Con check, but I didn't know that, and he was past caring.
Con checks: 6, 2, 2. And now I'm playing Jack Scrimshaw.
Name: Kemnos Voss
And he accidentally drank himself to death.
I've always gone with Egyptian naming conventions when pronouncing his name. "Amen-OAF-ee-us."
But that's what I go with, and I completely commit to it. My confidence in that pronunciation has even gotten GM's to change the way they pronounce it.

I have to agree wholeheartedly on this one. As soon as I read the post today, I hopped on HeroLab and whipped up Rowsdower from: MST3K's The Final Sacrifice. For gear, he has a pouch, a sack, and some beer, eh? He's here, he's woefully unprepared, and he's awesome.
My 12 year old son and I were looking at this on a shelf in the Paizo store yesterday at Paizocon. He was astounded by the thing. "We HAVE to have it!"
"I've gotta touch it!" he said, softly, and reached up, despite my protests, and touched it with a finger and trotted out of the store before he got in trouble. I looked around, did the same thing, and also fled. It has to be seen to be believed.

Misroi wrote: Why does it make someone that is forced to play Jirelle or Quinn in this adventure think "I wish I were playing a paladin or a rogue."? This is exactly the problem we ran into with our group. A guy who had GM'd the scenario 2 or 3 times earlier in the day pointed out that Jirelle was "practically useless" in this scenario, and so he of course played her himself to spare the rest of us from playing her, and the guy playing Quinn halfway through said, "Why would I want to play an investigator when, if I'd played my alchemist, we could have actually made it through this dungeon? Man, I do NOT want to ever play an investigator again." Personally, I LOVE the investigator, but I had to admit that Quinn and Jirelle, since they couldn't deal enough damage to overcome the hardness or DR of most of the creatures, they felt totally useless. Our investigator missed a couple of secret doors, which left us leaving the dungeon almost totally unexplored, thinking we were done. I couldn't believe that that was the entire tomb (I know a bit about egyptian tombs, and it seemed a little to convenient, but I was playing Crowe, the nearly brainless bloodrager, so I kept it to myself, deferring tot he investigator). We ended up getting back to civilization, grabbed Jirelle's twin, Jirello, and rode back to the pyramid to try and finish things off. At one point, I (Crowe) did 60 points of damage to a creature that, it turns out, only had 6 HP. I felt pretty awesome, right up until the GM pointed out how few HP it really had. Why do GM's do that? The final fight was nearly a total party kill. I don't know how it could have been thought to be anything other than that, with the characters provided. ________________________________________________________________ The fact that none of the character can identify magic items is a bad (and possibly fatal,) oversight. It sucks that the map is 10' x 10'. I can correct it manually myself, but nobody likes 10 x 10 anymore. The fact that half the party can't score a point of damage against most of the creatures is a gross oversight. There should have been a caster instead of the swashbuckler. And something extremely disappointing to me as a GM, after such a fantastic cover with the green glittering mummy head and hand, with the relics on its body and the khopesh in its hands, I expected more from its statblock than: "CR:5. XP: 1,600. Male mummy (Pathfinder RPG Bestiary 289) HP 60."
BUT, the adventure was cool, the maps were fun, and I've always loved everything about Egyptian tombs, so this Osirion tomb is definitely got to have some replay value in my games.

Having played it on Saturday night, it is RIDICULOUSLY hard. We nearly had a TPK in the first encounter, and by then, most of us had used up nearly all of our healing potions, spells, etc. We were playing a 4 man team with one of each of the iconics in the module. THe swashbuckler died in the first encounter, leaving us to deal with the rest of the module with a 3 man team.
A certain mistake by the investigator led to the entire team leaving the pyramid a tad too early. Once we were back in civilization and realized our mistake, we purchased 6 more healing potions, grabbed the swashbuckler's twin as a merc, and headed back, where we (mostly) finished the mission, but only after another near party wipe. Every players opinion was that this adventure was WAAAAAY off base as to the character level. We all agreed that the adventure would have made far more sense for a team of 5th level characters. Once I read the module, I'll give an update on my thoughts. - Rebis

You may remember my younger four year old son as Ronan the 1st level barbarian with long blonde hair doing charge attacks during Kyle's party. My older son Caeden will be attending the con with me. As for AFK, they know that there will be 100+ people in attendance and that we'll probably by filling the restaurant. They're excited for the turnout. I'm playing a Wizard (Universalist)1, Magus (Bladebound Kensai)7. I had wanted to add Agile to my Black Blade, but I've been told I cannot because of this ruling: Under the official FAQ, it says, Can I use Craft Magic Arms and Armor to increase my blade's enhancement bonus?
However, the blade that I use is my weapon I use as my Arcane Focus from my 1st level of Wizard. I took that level to be able to use it for Hand of the Apprentice, but there is this quote in there as well... "A wizard can add additional magic abilities to his bonded object as if he has the required Item Creation Feats and if he meets the level prerequisites of the feat. For example, a wizard with a bonded dagger must be at least 5th level to add magic abilities to the dagger (see Craft Magic Arms and Armor feat)." So would I, if I took the required feat, be able to add Agile to my bonded object weapon? - Rebis Ouroboros

Nope. Another player asked me the same question since he's also playing a Magus. You can use weapon finesse with a curveblade, not so with a katana. My tiefling has a 20 dexterity, so at second level, with the free Weapon Focus from being a Kensai, he had a +7 to attack. Now, at 7th level (1st level Universalist wizard for the extra spells, free masterworked curveblade and Hand of the Apprentice 7 times a day, and 1 level of samurai, because it just fit nicely) he's hitting nearly all the time with a +12 or better attack, spending points from his arcane pool to turn his adamantine curveblade into a +1 keen weapon, and critting constantly. Tacking on 5 dice of shocking grasp and being able hut to spend 2 points from his arcane pool to bump the multiplier to x3? I was loving life last week at our game. 66 points damage with one hit to finish off the 9th level sorcerer mummy. I've finally built an effective character.
I'm really hoping that the Shaman has a version that is more of a Spiritist, Medium... say what you will, but someone who interacts with actual spirits of the dead instead of just a shaman who is only nature and animal totem based.
Dude! How did you not TELL me about this when we were on the phone today?!!? Congratulations, Kyle. You absolutely deserve this. I've never met any fan more willing to go the extra distance to draw more people into the Pathfinder fold. (Everybody, I have Kyle to thank for my new full time job, and this is a guy who, after spending a full day training me, rode with me over to my local gaming store to help me with character creation for my pack of NINE 8 to 13 year olds. Most of whom have ADHD. He absolutely saved me. And he still calls me regularly to check on how the kids are doing. And then he called me today to see if I wanted to join him on Saturday to help get my game up as a GM.) I'm not kidding. I have nothing but respect for Kyle as a Venture Captain. Mow if I can only get him to GM for me... - Rebis

Awesome idea. It's one I've wondered about a few times in the past, because it seems like there isn't a lot of support for PFBB right now. The kids that I play with instantly wanted to graduate to regular Pathfinder the moment we finished off a PFBB version of We Be Goblins, but I'd love to have other scenarios for the kids I teach roleplaying to at my son's school. And, actually, I'm running a PFBB game for a 9 year old's birthday party at Greenlake Games tomorrow afternoon. Another thing that would be useful would be if one of the artists could include a page or two of pawn art (if there are new creatures in the scenarios)...- Rebis
I'm playing a Beastmorph Alchemist in PFS play.
That ability reads: Beastform Mutagen:
"At 3rd level, a beastmorph’s mutagen causes him to take on animalistic features—whether those of an animal, a magical beast, an animal-like humanoid (such as a lizardfolk), or a monstrous humanoid. For example, when the beastmorph uses his mutagen, he may gain a furry muzzle and pointed ears like a werewolf, scaly skin like a lizardfolk or sahuagin, or compound eyes and mandibles like a giant insect. The beastmorph also gains his choice of one of the abilities listed in the alter self spell, which persists as long as the mutagen. He may select a different ability each time he creates a mutagen." Alter Self reads: Alter Self:
"When you cast this spell, you can assume the form of any Small or Medium creature of the humanoid type. If the form you assume has any of the following abilities, you gain the listed ability: darkvision 60 feet, low-light vision, scent, and swim 30 feet. Small creature: If the form you take is that of a Small humanoid, you gain a +2 size bonus to your Dexterity. Medium creature: If the form you take is that of a Medium humanoid, you gain a +2 size bonus to your Strength." My question is, since it says that I can assume the FORM of any small or medium creature, do I use the creature's entry in the bestiary for my skills and soforth? My instinct is to say no, it's just cosmetic, but I thought I'd check in with greater minds than myself. - Rebis Ouroboros

I'm about to start GMing Beginner Box for a group of possibly TEN 4th, 5th and 6th graders. And yeah, I know I'm insane. But they were going to start asking random teenagers to GM for them. They're tiring of 4th Edition, and a few of them who have gamed with me have been telling the other kids about my GMing. I even had a mother offer to pay me. I'm going to go with EdOWar's class conversions, and then attempt to "EdOWar-ize" up all of the races from the Advanced Race Guide for Beginner Box, as well. I'm calling it MonsterSquad ATTACK!, and I'll be running it at DTwenty Games in Normandy Park, WA. I figure I'll make up some new goblin characters and have the whole chaotic pile of them go through "We Be Goblins!" to really get them to see how fun it is (along with all of the D&D Encounters players who will be there that Wednesday night - I have a feeling we'll have a few looky-loos). Then I'll let them make their own characters, whatever classes and races they want, and I'll start running them through a Sandpoint area campaign, using material from Rise of the Runelords, maybe Chopper's Isle, and The Brinewall Legacy (at least, the first half).
The reason I'm posting this is to thank the Paizo staff for the creation of the Beginner Box. At Paizocon 2011, I actually had tears in my eyes while thanking Erik Mona, Jason Buhlman and Sean K. Reynolds for building the thing, because I remembered how much the D&D red box meant to me back in 1981, and I knew that my wife would absolutely FORBID ME to introduce it to my 10 year old son, such is her hatred of roleplaying and D&D.
Also, thank you, Ed (aka EdOWar) for doing the class conversions so that I can get these guys hooked on the full spectrum of Pathfinder, and then transition them over into regular Pathfinder, and Pathfinder Society. Ed, if you want those race conversions, you'll get 'em. And to John Reyst and his d20pfsrd.com, for always being there on my smartphone, so I can use up all of my battery, checking nuances of character class combinations, or any and all of the other minutiae of the game. To Jason, Sean, Erik, Lisa, Jeff, James, Sarah, Wes... To all of you and more, THANK YOU. I am genuinely in your debt. And I am really excited to see how ridiculously insane this is going to be. - Rich Crotty
If a changeling (2 claws doing 1d4+STR damage) at 2nd level takes the Claws rage power (2 claws doing 1d6+STE damage), would she normally do 1d4+STR, and then 1d8+STR when raging?

Races. Oh, I dearly loves me some races. Especially ones that are compatible with the Advances Race Guide, so that they can fit in with a standard party and not be overwhelmingly powerful. As far as what I'd like, Class Acts: Witches. Speaking of that, I'd like for you to put out Class Acts: Oracles.

Yes, Mark, they will.
