Liberty's Edge

Thank you for running, Qwerty. Chronicle looks good.

Liberty's Edge

Miji dances back and shoots fire at the icy creature. "Let's see how well you handle the heat!"

Actions:
Non 5-ft. step
Standard Cast burning hands

Rolls:
Fire: 3d4 ⇒ (2, 2, 4) = 8 DC 14 Reflex for half.

Liberty's Edge

Miji dances into position opposite Delio, then takes a stab at the golem.

Actions:
Move Movement (provokes AoO)
Non Parry
Immediate Riposte
Standard Attack

Rolls:
Parry: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (18) + 12 = 30
Riposte: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27 Piercing: 1d6 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13 (3 precision)
Attack: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (7) + 13 = 20 Piercing: 1d6 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10 (3 precision)

Liberty's Edge

[ooc]@GM: Really? There's a doubt about who goes first?[ooc]

Miji and his rapier lead the way. "I hope you know, this isn't personal. I didn't even want to fight you, but my friends insisted." It's really more of a need to fight you, technically speaking.

Liberty's Edge

Hey! This reverse-psychotic thing actually works.

Liberty's Edge

"I dunno . . . it hasn't done anything to us. Unlike those orcs. I say we go fight them again, and let this golem go."

Liberty's Edge

"Are you implying that I would use this brute's weapon? I have no use for such a clumsy tool."

Liberty's Edge

Miji wades into the water to retrieve the object, with a big grin on his face, "Finders keepers, right ladies?"

Liberty's Edge

"Funny, I found it pays to be the greediest person in the room." And especially to be the first person checking bodies.

Liberty's Edge

"That's unfair," Miji holds Zora's gaze for a minute, "It's not battle I seek, but fun. Excitement. Life itself! How am I to blaim if battle is the only exciting thing in this boring, forsaken place?"

Liberty's Edge

I'm fine with not confronting the golem. If it's important, we'll get to it eventually.

Liberty's Edge

"My mission is life is to have fun!"

Liberty's Edge

"Delio . . . Delio . . . where is your spirit of adventure?" Finally, something to burn! Miji pulls out a flask of oil and carefully rubs it into his blade. The flammable kind, not the lubricating one.

Liberty's Edge

Miji moves toward the indicated room, rapier in hand. "Don't sell yourself short, Delio. It's not much of a challenge for either of us!" Of course, it's less so for me, but I'm magnanimous!

Liberty's Edge

"Any farmboy can bash things with a big stick. It takes an artiste to kill with only the point of a blade." Miji deliberately turns his back on the skeleton, yet still manages to block its blow and stab it back. He then dances a circle around the clunky Balomar, and stabs the skeleton yet again. Let's see you do that, tin can!

Actions:
Move Movement (provokes AoO)
Non Parry
Immediate Riposte
Standard Attack

Rolls:
Parry: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25
Riposte: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17 Piercing: 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Rapier: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21 Piercing: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

Delio PFS wrote:
Miji, you don't use your parry roll for your riposte attack.

@Delio: Thanks for the correction. Miji is a GM baby and this is my first time playing a swashbuckler.

@GM: Use the confirmation roll as the initial attack then.

Liberty's Edge

Red's attack should have triggered my parry and riposte, and also changed my inititiave to between Blue and Red.

Liberty's Edge

Miji dances into the center of the tomb, slapping Balomar on the butt as he moves past, then waits for the skeletons to come to him. "Hey, old man! You going to fight too, or are you too busy being jealous of our youth?" Besides, who can even move in that much armor?

Actions:
Move Movement
Standard Ready an attack, Trigger: enemy in reach
AoO Parry
Immediate Riposte

Rolls:
Rapier (Readied): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18 Piercing: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Rapier (Parry): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30 Piercing: 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Confirmation: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25 Piercing: 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13

Liberty's Edge

That's the spirit! Miji claps Delio on the back, then moves straight ahead. "Care to wager on who draws first blood this time?"

Liberty's Edge

Miji tests the point of his rapier, "You don't say? Well, we best hurry up then. Tardiness is rude, after all."

Liberty's Edge

Miji strikes a pose, hand on hilt, "Well then, I guess next time you'll just have to be quicker with your attentions." I didn't know there was a race going on, but I like it!

Liberty's Edge

Miji's bow pointedly displays his flexibility and dexterity, "Most appreciated . . . and I would be more than happy to assist you and your goddess with these prisoners. Simply give them back their weapons, and then have a seat." Miji smiles at the orcs, while pitching his voice to his companions, "I'd tell you to bet on me, but then somebody would have to bet on these fools--and nobody is that stupid." Am I being too greedy, or should I share with Delio?

Liberty's Edge

Miji drags his boots along the stones, pacing the room. "Now do you see why I wanted to fight everybody at once?" My next mission better be to Cheliax. I'm going to walk into the first bar I see and shout 'Free drinks for a free Andoran!'

"Can anybody use this wand? It's really just a wound to my ego, but this scratch does itch a little bit." Miji lazily twirls the looted wand across his knuckles and through his fingers.

Rolls:
Sleight of Hand: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16

I rolled a parry and riposte on my last turn. And if I get the kill, it regains a panache.

Liberty's Edge

1 person marked this as a favorite.

@Zora: Miji will adamantly insist he is fine. Until he is most definitely not. And then he'll whine like a schoolboy.

Liberty's Edge

I still have an action, right? Was just waiting to see the results of Segray's turn.

Miji frowns at the collapsing orcs. No! The fear in her eyes was so palpable! "Well, that sucks all the life out of this party," Miji turns to the remaining enemy, "Guess I'll just have to drain the life out of you instead!"

Miji adds a rather large hole to the orc's abdomen, then purposely turns his back on the creature. If I avoid the AoO, just dance away and then back into combat. If I don't avoid it, parry and riposte.

Actions:
Standard Attack (red)
Swift Menacing Swordplay
Move Movement (provokes AoO)
AoO Parry
Immediate Riposte

Rolls:
Rapier: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (13) + 13 = 26 Piercing: 1d6 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
Intimidate: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
Acrobatics to avoid AoO: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16
Parry: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (20) + 14 = 34 Piercing: 1d6 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13
Confirmation: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (17) + 14 = 31 Piercing: 1d6 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13

Liberty's Edge

Will wait to see if anybody falls asleep.

Liberty's Edge

21 hits, this round only. I charged too.

Liberty's Edge

Did I successfully demoralize the female orc for the rest of her life?

Liberty's Edge

I changed the starting location so that Miji was in front with Delio, as that's been his default so far.

Miji charges the talkative one, striking a pose mid-air as he stylishly takes the stairs in a single leap. Let's see Delio top that! "Ignore the stuffy one. Justice and righteousness can wait in line while you face me!"

Actions:
Full-Round Charge
Swift Menacing Swordplay

Rolls:
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20
Rapier: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 22 Piercing: 1d6 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
Intimidate: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23
Parry: 1d2 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12 Piercing: 1d6 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12 (If attacked with a weapon.)

Liberty's Edge

"Why, we want a rousing fight, of course!" I really hope those first two orcs were the runts of the tribe, or this won't even be worth drawing my blade.

Liberty's Edge

"Why yes, that would be fantastic! Thank you." Delio doesn't stand a chance, I have a clear advantage now.

Liberty's Edge

"Please tell me those pitiful orcs weren't the only entertainment in this whole boring place. I could have gotten a better fight trying to find a seat at the arena."

Liberty's Edge

"Only one way to find out." Miji takes a peek down said hallway. Two ways, really. But these scrubs don't want me to have any fun.

Liberty's Edge

Miji rolls his shoulders in big circles, jumps up and down a few times, and waves his rapier around a bit, "Well, that was a quick warm up. Now, where's the real entertainmnet?" Stupid orc stole my kill! Traitorous bastard!

Liberty's Edge

Miji moves into the room and draws first blood. "Ha! That new hole is a bigger improvement to your looks than I expected!"

Actions:
Move Movement (provokes an AoO if purple has Combat Reflexes)
Standard Attack
Swift Menacing Swordplay
Immediate Opportune Parry and Riposte (If purple attacks me on its turn.)

Rolls:
Rapier: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25 Piercing: 1d6 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
Intimidate (demoralize): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
Rapier (riposte): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30 Piercing: 1d6 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13
Rapier (confirm): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15 Piercing: 1d6 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16

Liberty's Edge

"Not enough, Delio, not enough. There never are." Miji pulls out a gold piece with the Andoran flag on one side. "Flip you for first one through the door? Call it in the air. The flag is heads." And Miji flips the coin into the air . . .

Liberty's Edge

"Finally! Something promising, although I much prefer enemies with swords--if one is lucky enough to prick me, at least the fabric can be sewn up. But acid will completely ruin my brand new tunic. I had this one custom made not two months ago! Do you know how expensive Varisian lace is?"

Liberty's Edge

"Announcing our presence is sounding better and better." Miji moves directly to the next unexplored room and enters, rapier in hand. I might as well be an archaeologist, for all the fun we're not having.

Liberty's Edge

"My point exactly, Delio. Let's find some danger!"

Miji walks into the next room, rapier leading the way.

Liberty's Edge

"If your wish is to avoid danger, why even leave home? Life is dangerous. Living is facing that danger with a smile and a sword."

Liberty's Edge

"Yes, let's move along quickly. The sooner we find something dangerous, the better!"

Liberty's Edge

Unable to move my icon.

Miji draws his rapier and bows to Delio in one continuous motion, "Not a bad idea. Or we could just announce ourselves loudly, and allow our enemies to ambush us all at once. That might actually make it a fair fight."

Liberty's Edge

When in doubt, go left?

Liberty's Edge

@Zora: works for me.

Liberty's Edge

"Hmm . . . if knowledge of this location has been well protected, perhaps there will still be some adventure and treasure left for us after all."

Liberty's Edge

"I'm a little confused. Are we reading bedtime stories or going on an adventure?"

Liberty's Edge

"Miji Jaiqat at your service." The ifrit bows deeply and with perfect balance, "So long as that service is mutually beneficial, of course."

Same here. I played this character once 6 months ago. Going to be figuring out the personality (and mechanics) as we go.

Liberty's Edge

Miji walks around the room slowly, until he notices a particularly drunk man paying too much attention to the entertainment. When the man wraps an arm around the woman, Miji pinches her ass for the man--and in the ensuing distraction, Miji helps himself to a few chips.
