A faithful follower of Erastil, Jeorik (pron Chee-or-ik) Vandor has been a hunter since his youth. Jeorik’s father, Taylo Vandor, originally a native of Korvosa, in his youth wandered the length and breadth of Varisia, seeking adventure. His greatest adventure, he often said, was the battle to woo Jeorik’s mother, a Varisian dancer. The two of them, the Korvosan warrior and the Varisian wanderer married, jointly renounced their transitory ways, settled down just outside of Ilsurian and began their family.
All six of his father’s children learned swordplay and the importance of martial prowess nor did they feel that this was unusual, for all Ilsurian children were likewise trained by one or more of their elders. In addition to his normal martial training, Jeorik, from an early age, showed an aptitude for the bow and for hunting. Often was the time that he would provide the meat his family ate and as he grew older, he often would sell venison and game meat to the butcher in Ilsurian.
Two years ago, Taylo died. Now Jeorik, as the oldest of six, has taken it upon himself to journey to Korvosa to share the news of his father’s demise with his father’s two brothers Dorman and Wermis Vandor. Jeorik however has no idea where the two live. All he knows is that his father often said that Wermis had been in training to be a Hellknight as a boy.
Jeorik is blessed with roguishly good looks, which are offset by a sometimes naïve manner. He tends to the clean shaven, though when traveling or in the field hunting, he will let his beard grow. His brown hair is generally shoulder length, though at the beginning of every summer he tends to have it cut short. He is possessed of bright brown eyes, an average nose and a quick smile. His clothing reflects his rural sensibilities, being well cut but not fashionable.
His traveling clothes are typical, boots, sturdy trousers and a linen shirt though he is also accustomed to also wearing a broad rimmed hat and leather gloves. Whenever he travels or hunts he also wears his armor and carries his shield.
Jeorik is a generous individual, mindful of his personal duty and keen on family. In keeping with his god’s teachings, he views lies as worse than murder, and drunkenness and adultery as weaknesses that tears apart families and homes. Jeorik, when at home, sometimes stood in for the local priest of Erastil on Sundays and knows enough scripture to expound intelligently on the subject of religion and religious doctrine.
Being the oldest of six, Jeorik is used to giving orders, though he is humble enough to take them as well. He is also comfortable around children and has a bit of a protective streak in him. His main worry, while traveling, is for his families well being, though he trust his next younger brother to provide while he is absent.
