backstory:

Fernán has always been a physically and mentally gifted soul: beautiful, smart, a dreamer, thin and dextrous. But he was lazy: school learning and the traditional "job" have always been boring and for the dull of the world. He took to forgery - easy, given his natural gift for languages and his affinity for art. These skills coupled with his ability to charm bits of critical information out of people led him naturally to some white collar crime.

Being the dreamer, he decided eventually to "go legitimate" and hire on with the merchants. He proved to be a natural pilot, with intuitive spatial sense and excellent reflexes. Unfortunately, he faced discipline problems regularly, and was expelled after he was found trying to blackmail an officer (he got away because he quickly found a way to blackmail, in turn, the officer who threw him out).

He has returned to his questionable ways, and now works as an civilian importer and information broker, supplying those who live on the stations with goods on the egde of regulation. He takes great pains to keep a legal pretense, however.

Large Ground Vehicle
TL5, Cr2580, 1000vl. A self-powered wheeled vehicle based on the ground car (see below) concept, but designed for offroad
and rugged terrain use. Typically, a jeep has a cruising range of 600km at a speed of 60 kph, and has a maximum
speed of 120 kph. Off-road performance is better than the standard ground car, though jeeps (other than specialist luxury
models) lack creature comforts to the point where some are truly excruciating to drive. Fuel for a jeep depends on local tech
level and fuel sources; it is usually chemical fuel (hydrocarbons or hydrogen), or an electric battery. A jeep can carry a driver
and up to three additional passengers plus luggage (214vl). Luxury models (which are as comfortable as any ground car on
the market) may be available at higher prices. The basic jeep is unpressurized, and may indeed be open-topped. Jeeps are
designed to be somewhat tolerant of atmospheric and environmental conditions; they will not usually malfunction when transferred
to another world, so long as it is reasonably similar to their world of origin.
