I'm sorry, these books are a great read, but there is a point when I have to say "I'm done" and walk away.

Losing the subscription pdfs, jacking up the cost of the paperbacks and only being able to buy the e-book at Amazon, who by the way has the Kindle version of this book priced higher than the print version.

None of the Occultic classes need spellbooks, but since the spells can be recorded as Scrolls, can they also be recorded in an occultic spellbook?

Can a Psychic spell that is also on the list of an Arcane or Divine caster be translated to an Arcane or Divine form? Or would they need a "Read Psychic Magic" spell to do something like that?

That beard needs a character sheet all its own.

Hmmmmm, Alchemist's parasitic twin?

What are the two sticks for?

They are not thick enough to be escrima fighting sticks, don't look like they are bamboo and two aren't enough for a tent or shelter.

I now have an answer for this. A couple of people asked Wayne about the sticks on his Facebook page and he had this to say:

Wayne on Facebook wrote:
The sticks are marker posts - Used in ancient travelling arenas. These days we're used to boxing or wrestling spaces marked out with four corners but in the distant past arenas were often marked out with just two poles or a couple of stones. The ring was usually formed by spectators. The markers could denote each combatants' "Corner" or sometimes used in "Capture the Flag" bouts too. They can also be combined with the mat to make a hammock. ;) As you can see, they've been used a few times as they've needed repair. :)

Any chance we could get Wayne Reynolds to do some blogs on how he creates these Iconic images and the reasons behind things like Lini's Sticks and Harsk's Tea Pot?

How about the story of when Kess and her party met Smaug?

I am SMAUG! I kill when I wish! I am strong, strong, STRONG! My armor is like tenfold shields! My teeth like swords! My claws, spears! The shock of my tail, a thunder.......What is she doing?

She's punching you.

Yes, but why?

We really don't know, she hits everybody; other warriors, barmaids, street orphans,....

Can you get her to stop? I am kind of ticklish there?

Trust me we have been trying to do that since she joined up with us. It get a little annoying.

Tell me about it. * Smaug flicks her away with a fore-claw * Look just grab whatever you can carry and let's all pretend this never happ....
She's got my tail in a choke hold doesn't she?

Although I have to admit we are 0/2 so far on the "parents are dead" trope.

Well sure, but he's in his 40s...his parents being dead isn't shocking. And actually, Jirelle's father could easily be alive, we just don't know.

Only if the shark is still chewing.

Why only four Iconics? And no Cleric in your party?

I don't think I would like to play the Runelord campaign with only a wizard/fighter/ranger/rogue party.

When I first read the Mythic rules, my first question was "Why?" I was expecting it to be a new version of Epic level rules, not this.

My primary problem is that I already thought my PCs were "mythic". They are the heroes, and thru their adventures they are becoming legends. I can understand the desire to have a more "Extreme" game from time to time. I prefer the options from the 3.5 Unearthed Arcana; Gestalt Classes, spell-touched feats, etc. Mythic first level character just doesn't seem right to me, PCs should earn their legendary stats. And yes Heracles was killing snakes as a toddler, her was also a Demigod.

Problem two is that the Mythic rules are just a layer of complexity added to an already complex game. I would prefer something like substitution levels, maybe even each class remade into a Mythic version. When your PC becomes mythic, you stop using the regular class levels and switch to the mythic rules. The tiers would be built into the class or presented as Mythic Prestige classes, not layered on top, and the rules would support multi-classing better.

The other problem is that there needs to be a danger to your PC. I need to feel that they are at risk to enjoy the game. But when nothing can hurt them, they heal like Wolverine and even auto-resurrect, where is danger? Oh just add Mythic to their adversaries and then they are at danger? So those honeybees are Mythic Bees, those rose bushes must be Mythic Roses for their thorns to scratch them and your PC choked to death on a chicken bone? Must have been a Mythic Chicken!
As Andrea1 said above; "When everything is Mythic, no one is"

I like them. Of course, they have a couple of racial traits now that could be replaced, but they're there for the sake of backwards compatibility (dodge bonus against giants and the like).

But now they finally are a race of their own: Fey-touched creatures with a more natural approach to magic (hence the cha bonus and the favoured classes), bonuses to illusion (which both their favoured classes can use), and some eccentricies that fit a fey-touched race.

Just out of curiosity, what would you replace those abilities with?

Bonuses for Crafting Cookies and Toys?

They spend a lot of time in Gardens, maybe +2 vs Plants and Insects?

I hear some travel a lot, maybe a discount rate at hotels and Inns?
