How Syrinscape Brought the Red Dragon Roaring to Life

Sunday, February 8, 2015

Reckon you've got the growl to make the perfect Pathfinder Red Dragon? Have you got the depth in your voice, the rattle in your throat, the fire in your breath? No, me neither. Now, imagine you had to create a Red Dragon in all its airborne, fiery fury. That's what I had to do, and it was awesome fun! My family surely thought I was out of my head as I growled and roared into my studio microphone. Thank goodness for the modern digital wizardry I was able to employ, turning my little voice into the coolest, most epically massive Dragon roars you could imagine.

Next time you play the Pathfinder RPG, grab a tablet or a laptop, download the free Syrinscape Player, purchase the Fortress of the Stone Giants SoundPack, or become a Syrinscape Adventure Path Subscriber to unlock absolutely everything in the Syrinscape Fantasy library. Then, plug-in to your stereo system, or a portable Bluetooth speaker, and blow your players' minds! Your Pathfinder game will never be the same!

Watch the Fortress of the Stone Giants demo video below to see how you can incorporate these fabulous, officially licensed sounds into your Pathfinder game.

Have fun, good gaming. Now go make some noise!

P.S. Syrinscape is still looking for YOUR sounds for the forthcoming Peasants' Revolt SoundSet. Submit a crash, or a yell, or other sound associated with an uprising. You'll get a free copy of the SoundSet, along with a name credit on the product!

This has absolutely nothing to do with MMORPGs.

Go look up Syrinscape. It's freaking awesome. It's ... well.. I'll let them say it:

"Syrinscape is a revolutionary sound design app that adds evocative ambient background sound and a movie-like soundtrack to your tabletop gaming experience."

It's really nice and doesn't take the show (unless you want it to, like for introducing a dragon), and adds a ton without being a hassle to use during game.

Oh - Ben, I love the peasant revolt crowd source idea! I'll see if I can come up with something worth submitting. If not, I'll have fun trying. Looking forward to seeing you at PaizoCon again. This time it won't be such an ordeal for me, 'cause I'm a local now. :)

I love this stuff. Too bad it doesn't work real well with my blind accessible software.

So if we become a subscriber do we gain the old adventure path stuff or just get to use it as long as we stay subscribers

Hi Joey,

While you are a subscriber, everything that comes out every month you own permanently = $6.50pm cost for about $14.00pm worth of Fantasy Stuff.

PLUS everything in the back catalogue unlocks (as long as you remain a sub = as you said) = about $240 worth of stuff (including ALL the Adventure Path content)

OR

You can do the same sort of thing, but for BOTH Fantasy AND Sci-Fi (called the SuperSyrin) for an even bigger saving = $10.00pm

All sense makes?

Our next big UI rebuild is going to use far more standard components. We are dropping the whole skeuomorphic thing... so it might potentially be much more useful for you.

You'll be able to zoom right in and all that sort of stuff.

Does that help?

Ben

If you actually want to get a sense of the direction we are heading, then have a go of our SoundSet Creator Beta here: Syrinscape SoundSet Creator Beta.

Have a go and e-mail me some hints at how we could make things easier for this community!

I'm sure it would be a fascinating conversation!

I'll give it a go and see if I can give you some input! I love your software, and I always check on your stuff to see what's new. Your interviews on the Know Direction podcast always make me laugh and make me want syrenscape to work for me even more.
