Nice! I love a good mini repaint. Especially clear plastic ones that look awesome. :)
Is a Festering Spirit a creature made up just for this figure or is it a monster that appears in a book?
Either way.....I want one. I cant attend a con this year but I will definitly order one when they are available in the Paizo store.

I almost have to wonder about the timings of these sets. RotR is releasing in both book and miniature form relatively close together. Yet for the next set the books roll out in aug with miniatures in jan? Part of me wonders if at some point the sets will become mixed (such as half shattered star and half the following AP).
Of course it's still early in the minus line n all ;)

Looks very nice! I'd heard about these being given out at PaizoCon, but it's cool to see a good picture of one here on the blog!
Speaking of pictures, by the way, this one looks very nice. Sounds like you've finally gotten the kinks worked out of your studio for taking pictures of these minis :-)
Out of curiosity, does picking up a Subscription order at Gen Con count as a "purchase" for purposes of these promos? And when can we expect that option to become available for the August subscription shipments?

I'd be willing to bet that the idea is for the minis sets to start coming out along with the *end* of the Adventure Path they are associated with. That way, they can base the minis on art from the books (which have to be written first) and GMs can be sure they have everything they need -- minis, maps, and so forth -- by the time they have the whole Adventure Path so they can start running it.
I know that my group is keen to start Skull and Shackles, but I'm waiting until I have all six before I start that series.

It's actually an enormous pain in the ass to schedule these sets to come out even remotely close to the associated products, given the MASSIVE lead time needed to create plastic miniatures. WizKids told me it would be impossible to release a set at the same time as the books, which I took as a dare. I _think_ we'll pull off Shattered Star in the last month that AP is in release (and certainly well within the window of most campaigns), but holy hannah it was difficult to pull off, and I'm loath to do it again.
Rise of the Runelords was a somewhat special case, being such a known quantity.
So I wouldn't necessary expect future Pathfinder Battles sets to be tied to an Adventure Path (though I suspect many still will). And certainly don't expect that they will always come out at exactly the perfect moment. Planning for these things, alas, is not quite that simple.

Some of us are way behind the curve on this stuff too, our group runs two APs at once, we are on book 5 of Kingmaker, and book 3 of Carrion Crown. I think we are skipping Jade Regent, and are just discussing if we are doing Shattered Star before or after Skull and Shackles. Point being that we are waaaaay behind the curve on the APs so you guys have lots of time to get sets out :)

I must say I approve. I guess I will have to keep my eyes peeled for when this comes up on the store.
Normally I'm not a huge fan of repaints, but for something that's basically a freebie, I wouldn't really expect them to do an entire new sculpt and everything. I like the different paint scheme on this one, anyway.

----- Special Abilities -----
Create Spawn (Su) Any humanoids slain by a festering spirit become festering spirits themselves in 1d4 days. Festering Spirits so created do not possess any of the abilities they had in life. A Remove Disease spell cast on the body before it rises as a festering spirit prevents this.
Remove Disease Vulnerability (Su) A Remove Disease spell cast on a festering spirit deals 5d6 damage (Will negates) and also disables its festering touch and rotting presence abilities for 1 round.
Rotting Presence (Su) The foul presence of a Festering Spirit strips away any protection that a creature may have against disease, including immunity from disease, whatever its source (Will negates).
Soul Rot (Su) Curse and disease—touch; save Fort DC 18; onset 1 minute; frequency 1/day; effect 1d6 Con and 1d6 Wis; cure —. Soul rot is both a curse and disease and can only be cured if the curse is first removed, at which point the disease can be magically removed. Even after the curse element of soul rot is lifted, a creature suffering from it cannot recover naturally over time. Anyone casting a conjuration (healing) spell on the afflicted creature must succeed on a DC 20 caster level check, or the spell is wasted and the healing has no effect. Any humanoid who dies from soul rot will have their body rot and decay over 1d4 days, after which time the body turns to dust and cannot be raised without a resurrection or greater magic. Once this occurs the slain humanoid will rise as a free-willed festering spirit. The save DC is Charisma-based.
Festering Spirits are malevolent undead which despise the living, especially those in good health. They arise from those humanoids that died lingering and painful deaths from disease who were never treated or cared for, or were abandoned to their fate. Like ghosts and spectres, festering spirits haunt the location of their death, seeking to force the same suffering on the living as they themselves endured before their deaths. Their touch carries a terrible taint, a disease known as soul rot which decays the soul in addition to the body.
Many of a festering spirit's features are similar to what they possessed in life, although the festering spirit's thirst for revenge often distorts that image beyond recognition. While they retain most of the memories they accrued while they lived, festering spirits are occupied only with their those of their final, agonizing hours. They will occasionally ally with necromancers or evil clerics, provided that they are guaranteed the opportunity to infect as many other living creatures as possible with their festering touch.
Not sure if this is what Paizo was aiming for, but it feels pretty wicked to me.

You're right. I just went back to the October 28/2011 blog post where the original was revealed. Sure, the vertical size of the picture is marginally smaller, but ultimately the quality is very close.
Bottom line is that some minis just photograph better than others.

Any idea when these may be available for sale on this site?
Oooo. Me, me, I'll answer this one!
"We'll have singles of the Festering Spirit available following Gen Con here on paizo.com, so those of you who weren't able to make PaizoCon or Gen Con will still get a chance to get your hands on this very cool figure."
Since GenCon is Aug16th through 19th (thank you Google), I would say... following that. Soon(TM).

Will it be 1/ per $50doctors spent in one transaction? Or even if you spend $200more at the booth at one time you will receive one mini?
I've never been a fan of rules that people could easily bypass by doing multiple transactions—that just creates more work for everyone. But we also want the minis to last for the whole show. So we won't *automatically* give people 2 minis for a $100 purchase, because that would result in a lot of people getting extra minis they don't really care about... but if they *ask*, we will.

Thank you, I assume they will be featured or some announcement made. Is there going to be a limited number or is there going to be enough to go around? What I'm asking here is how closely do I need to watch my computer.
We've never done one of these before, so I don't really know, but I suspect they'll last at least a few weeks.
