Where does it say a given perform skill has an audible component, visual component, or both?
One of our players has a bard with Perform (oratory), which according to one of the other players, means said bard can't use Countersong or Fascinate since it doesn't have an audible component. He says he read somewhere that oratory only had a visual component. Where might he have read that?

It's kinda hidden away, alas, partially because the nature of the performances should be obvious, I guess. Check the descriptions for countersong and distraction on page 36.
The summary:
Audible Performances: keyboard, percussion, wind, string, or sing
Visual Performances: act, comedy, dance, oratory
Although I'd actually put oratory in audible... but I guess with the big hand gestures and the chest puffing and the like, it works for visual.
It's a good move for bards to at least put spend 1 skill rank on a perform that's the counterpart to his main perform, in any case. And as you get higher level, having multiple perform ranks pays off well with Versatile Performance.
