"Welcome, travelers, to the ancient land of Osirion, where the countless ages are preserved beneath the sand, awaiting your exploration. Please use the following promotional illustrations as a reference when deciding to brave our welcoming and accommodating land."

— Sekmekh Binwari's Most Reputable and Honest Truthful Guide to Osirion

Sothis, the Stormhaven of Osirion, is the finest metropolis in all of the Inner Sea, with a history more storied even than that of Absalom.

Though they may look intimidating, the crocodiles of the Rivers Sphinx, Asp, and Crook really just want a hug.

The gnolls of the southern desert are decidedly less friendly than their reptilian counterparts, but rumor has it they enjoy rare meat and painfully witty puns.

The Khopeshman of Sothis may take his name from his favorite weapon, but he's actually taken a vow to never use his sword against a living creature. Have no fear breaking the law in his presence.

Sothis... can we get a bigger more wallpaper-y version of that? It looks so good, but its so small.

Something tells me that at least one of the captions may be untrue...

Yeah, the Ruby Prince is totally just showing off.

sounds like The Ruby Prince and i have the same curse;)

Liberty's Edge

Very good illustrations. I am interested in learning how much influence Qadira had on Osirion's development, in terms of culture, architecture, and now how Osirionis are trying to establish their own cultural identity form the disparate threads of their past.

That topic is covered quite extensively throughout Osirion, Legacy of Pharaohs.

So is there one chapter on the Ruby Prince's pecs and another on his abs? Is that how this works?

That picture of Sothis makes me think of a modern smartphone panorama photo.

(It would probably make a good wallpaper for people with two-monitor setups.)

Sothis. The city that took a look at one of Rovagug's Spawn and said, "Bring it. We needed a new city division anyway."

But his chest is bare there too...

I never go anywhere near Osirion without my trusted copy of Sekmekh Binwari's Most Reputable and Honest Truthful Guide.

(That was awesome)

P.S. Many folks just don't appreciate how good an ab workout summoning actually is.

The thing about gnolls and puns is true, though. I had a beer with one at a bar in Katapesh and told him about the Qadiran mathematician who began making moss-based undergarments; he'd invented algae bra, y'see? The dude blinks at me for a second, then says, "Yeah, that's an old one where I come from. I guess you could call it part of the 'gnoll set.'"

And then he started laughing like... well, a hyena.

I made him buy the next round.

Spoiler:
Weird coda to this story: I heard later that the mathematician had to close down his shop, because the bras kept causing these huge disruptions at high society parties. Apparently algae break functions.

You are pretty sure the gnolls are taking the mickey out of you with their mathletics stories...
Gaaah. Sorry. I know there is a thread for puns. Consider me chastised.

But really, that big beetle carapace/structure/building thing reflecting the city around it is fantabulistic.

I love that about Sothis. And Nethys.

Nethys smacking down a Spawn of Rovagug (and his followers then building a house out of it, and probably more than one fancy hat) and Desna fluttering into the Abyss to eat Aodar's face off are my favorite two Crowning Moments of Awesome for Golarion gods.

Wasn't Sothis built around the shell? If I recall correctly, it wasn't a city until after the Spawn was defeated.

I eagerly await the McConaughey bard archetype. ;)

Why does it have to be the opposite sex?

Because he's yet to make a boy meets boy romantic comedy.

(Admittedly, I've yet to watch True Detective.)
