Cirri Merryweather |
"Yaay!" Cirri yawns. "Hopefully I won't be gored this time..." Cirri prepares to travel again.

Like an annoying tourist, Cirri rambles on about flora, fauna and the general layout of the forest.
Leepo Toggenburg |
"Gored? or bored? Let's go already!"
Actually, I will try that paper thing...
GM Zinou |
As your group departs in the early morning, armed with the researchers’ best wishes and instructions on how to find Riddywipple’s log, Cirri leads the way and you have no difficulty to locate your goals along the way. The directions are fairly simple, leading them to clear landmarks throughout the forest. You manage to locate the log, which is distinguished by a series of distinctive carvings that adorn the trees for twenty yards in every direction.
Although you see no one, you do hear a squeaky voice coming from up ahead, "Riddywhipple is the one you seek then? Find him first you must! Cleverer have tried. Most succeed! hihihihi!"
The map is up :) I placed your minis. What do you do?
Leepo Toggenburg |
"Hide and seek? OK, I'm in..."
Leepo and Scritch split up to play.
Cirri Merryweather |
"Oh. Well, um. I'm not good at this kind of game, but..."
Cirri casts Detect Magic and takes a look around the area.
Perception: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (19) + 0 = 19
"I'll certainly try!" She peeks towards a bundle of logs.
Valjoen |
Valjoen spins to face the voice in the forest. "And who might you be? Show yourself!". A brisk, cold wind whips up around the viking. His hair dances in the breeze and a crackle of ice seems to form in his right hand which he has raised in a threatening manner.
"I dunna like these fey things..."he whispers to his fellow Pathfinders.
A little prestidigitation for color.
Darvik Willowbrook |
Games? There is no time for games. Despite the statement, Darvik starts looking for the source of the voice. Anyone know what those carvings on the logs say?
Perception: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (8) + 0 = 8
Ulgrok |
Ulgrok smiles and looks at their companions. Whispering conspiratorally, they say "Perhaps we can leave some area free, and then I cast a sleepy-time charm? Much easier to find sleeping friend than running friend."

As Valjoen does his little prestidigitation trick, you hear the same voice from before and a clapping sound. "OOOOOH! Bravooooo!" But you all have trouble to locate the origin of the voice. Unable to spot your target, you listen carefully. The voice appears to be coming from two old fallen crossed logs to the north, next to a ravine. "Oh come on, I am not that small. Surely you can find me if you tried a little harder!"
As you begin to search, Leepo steps on some branches a little softer and... falls! 15 damage! She fell into a pit 30 ft deep!
At the same time, a small butterfly winged dragon barely over two feet in length appears on the legs and is litteraly rolling on the floor laughing. "Bwahahaha! I knew you would fall in this! Hahaha if you'd see your face!"
The dragon doesn't seem threatening, he just roll on the floor and laughs his lungs out.
Cirri Merryweather |
"Eeep! Leepo!" Cirri pulls out some rope and drops it in the pit to help her climb back out. She pulls out her wand of Cure Light Wounds. "I can't use these wands very well, but maybe you can..."
Once she's out and healed, Cirri turns to the tiny dragon. "Um, hi." She tries to figure out what it is.

"So...do you know where Riddywhipple is? We're trying to fight the undead incursion in this forest. Not many more people will play with you if we don't defeat them, and Riddywhipple may be able to help."
Ulgrok |
Cirri, I soak that damage over three rounds. Ouch.
Ulgrok looks over the dragon as reddish-purple bruises spread over their face, staring intently before breaking into a deep laugh.
"You, I like you."
Cirri Merryweather |
Watching the bruises disappear from Leepo and hearing Ulgrok grunt, Cirri passes her wand to the Half-Orc.
"No wonder Ignizi Dinnelletter was so evasive on describing you. Well, I'm Cirri. Pleased to meet ya. We heard that you know this forest very well. Could you help us figure out where the undead are coming from?"
Valjoen |
Valjoen eyes the diminutive dragon with a stoic disposition, but his scowl slowly turns to a grin as he watches the creature roll about laughing.
Ulgrok |
Ulgrok stops laughing as well, and solemnly says, "Ignizi's doing well. She's apparently been working on her turnip recipe. Her acolytes, however... One of them was taken off by zombies. Dijjit, a gnome with orange hair. Have you heard anything about that?"
Darvik Willowbrook |
Wait, you're laughing after having one of us step into a deep pit that could have killed someone? What kind of sick joke is that? The fighter is clearly not amused by the game this dragon or gnome or whatever it is plays. And who cares about turnips! A real danger lurks in this forest in the form of an undead horde. We're here to stop it and rescue someone that has been captured by this horde and is in real danger. Now, if you would be so kind, we need to help this person, and now.
GM Zinou |
"Oh! A real danger, you say? Well, now that you mention it, in the night last night, I flew over to my friendly pixie friend Pollinia, a trixie youngster who lit out with me for a bit of a fly-around, where we chatted about all the happy happenings in the forest as well as some untidy tidings. As it turns out, the carved cave near my pegasi friendlies has a new body that everybody agrees is disagreeable. The old cold cavern used to be used by humans long before long ago, but it’s been empty as a log since then.
“Now it seems an unseemly creature has wandered in from the bit of bog near Wartle and taken to torturing and terrifying the forest. The monster’s name is Marigana, and trappers chased her from her Wartle morass after she kidnapped some napping kids from the town and turned them into deadly undead. Now she’s taken up taking over Sanos, and wants to spread her terrible territory. We can make a joint journey to see the poisonous new occupant, but it will be doubtlessly undeadly. Do you have any questions?”
Cirri Merryweather |
Cirri nods. "Marigana...what does she look like? We'll do everything we can to drive her out. No, we'll destroy her outright if we get the chance. No one should mess with life like that."
Darvik Willowbrook |
Now we're talkin'. Darvik readies himself for travel. Take us there so we can do the job we came to do. After a bit of an uncomfortable pause, Darvik adds, Please.
Kel Na' Yaa |
Kel nods.
It seems I'll never get away from undead. Very well. We should be off.
GM Zinou |
"Oh, yes, I show you the way and I come so I can help you be helpful! We need to head north, into the old forest for friends. All their life, I have known the most pleasant and pleasing pegasi. Most fey don't know what to do. Help or not help. We are old, and it takes centuries to make up the minds of the many. Varied vigorous vague vexatious arguing about nothing at all."
Riddywhipple answers any questions you may have as you venture north and describes how he heard Marigana looks like, so long as he has a modicum of knowledge on the topic. As your party is approaching the home of his longtime friends, pegasi who might be able to offer assistance in defeating the undead, the faerie dragon guides you over and around several dangerous areas, pointing out traps and pitfalls along the way in case you have to find your way back alone. An overgrown road appears for you to follow until, at last, you reach a muddy, reedy lake surrounded by underbrush and large stones. As the party journey's north, Riddywhipple flits back and forth between party members, eventually settling on Darvik's shoulder for the majority of the journey.
As the you approach, you see the silhouette of a statuesque pegasus grazing in the glade. However, as the you grow closer, you notice that the pegasus iscovered in deep wounds and dried blood, and that his graze not upon grass, but upon the carcass of a fallen creature.
"... and that's when I met Pegasi and we decided to become besties. He's a very kinldly pegasus, you know and.... Oh noooooooooo! Not Pegasiiiiiiiiii! My bestiiiiiiiiiiiiiie!" Riddywhipple looks shocked and falls on the ground rolling, weeping loudly and profusely on the floor from his little dragon fairy's eyes.

"We are old, and it takes centuries to make up the minds of the many. Varied vigorous vague vexatious arguing about nothing at all."
I greatly enjoy these alliterations.
As the party journey's north, Riddywhipple flits back and forth between party members, eventually settling on Darvik's shoulder for the majority of the journey.
Cirri frowns when Riddywhipple lands on Darvik's shoulder. Man, I wish I had a cool familiar...
"... and that's when I met Pegasi and we decided to become besties.
"Pegasi. They're like horses but with wings. Like unicorns except less stuffy. Like Zombies but...oh. We'll let him rest, Riddy."
Valjoen |
"I am truly sorry, my little winged friend, but the pegasi's undead form must be put down."
Valjoen points to the river as he moves toward the pegasi, "Be alert... something sulks just below the surface of the water!" the viking rushes forward as his left hands turns an icy blue and magical energies crackle about it. Mustering all his might, Valjoen hurls the icy ball at the undead creature.

As the party forges forward to find the faerie's fey forest friends, Darvik thinks to himself, This buggar better not do anything on my shoulder it'll regret or I'll fry him up like a goose.
Upon seeing the now undead creature, Darvik sighs. You might want to step off unless you want to follow me into battle.
Darvik moves toward the undead. Double move. Another creature, Val? Handle it, I'll take care of this fella.
Leepo Toggenburg |
"That's a pegasus? Hmm, it is not anything like I pictured. It doesn't look good, though."
Leepo and Scritch both double move.
Kel Na' Yaa |
Kel draws his rapier and dashes toward the unicorn. Double Move. Once there, he assumes a defensive position, waiting for the undead monstrosity to attack him.

Pegasi closes with Kel but doesn't do anything else, due to his slow movements. Suddenly, though, Darvik begins to head towards the lake with haste and begins to walk in the lake, water over his waist.
There is a very beautiful woman in mortal danger in the lake, drowning. Or at least you think so. You HAVE to go there and help her!
Your character has been lured. You can roll an additional will saving throw because it makes you go and drown in the lake. If you succeed, you'll be free of its lure next round.

Leepo runs up and grabs his hand, and starts trying to pull him back.
Cirri Merryweather |
"There's a face in the water? What face?" Cirri flips through her spellbook.
Darvik Willowbrook |
Darvik tries to yank his hand away. You fools! That woman is drowning! I must save her before its too late!
Cirri Merryweather |
"What woman? Why don't we do this together? Slow down a bit and I can swim down there!"
Leepo Toggenburg |
"There - in the water! Some sore of fey, luring him in I think."
Leepo tries to trip Darvik.

Sorry everyone! My wifi died on Tuesday. I found some at a friend's place.
And sorry, Valjoen actually hits the pegasi! I read too fast.
Ulgrok channels positive energy to harm the undead pegasi while Kel tries to tumble around, not good enough though, to strike mightily the pegasi. The pegasi's blow doesn't bother the swashninja, though. After these assault, the pegasi falls to the ground, deader than dead.
