PFS#: 44004-6
Name on Roll20: Tyler B.
Character Level: 10 (Fighter 2/Cavalier 5/Golden Legionnaire 3)
Alden is buying a Seducer's Bane Bracelet for 9900gp.

![]() |

I'll be out of town starting on Friday through Tuesday, so I won't be updating as much as normal, possibly not at all on some days of the weekend.

Our Mysterious Benefactor |

I'll probably aim to start in earnest on Monday, though people are welcome to ask questions, roleplay, etc in the gameplay thread.

![]() |

PFS#: 30504-1
Name on Roll20: Mark M.
PC level: Sorc 10 (unless I get a table with him this weekend in which case he will be level 11)
I may buy something before starting this scenario, but I'm not certain yet.

![]() |

PFS# 12395-4

PC Level: Megus 10.

Keen Edge Oil x4 (750e) 3,000
Make Whole 400g

Ralph's purchases for this adventure for now:
Scroll: Pilfering hand (scribed, can't fail check) 150gp
Scroll: Dispel Magic (Scribed, can't fail check) 375gp
Scroll: Anti-magic field (a last resort) (use master of trade for 10% discount) 1485gp
Scroll: Life Bubble (Scribed: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (4) + 18 = 22) Success 1125
Anyone else have any ideas on what spells we should prepare for fighting a high level wizard? I'm expecting at least 8th level spells...possibly 9th.
Everyone should be able to fly, at least temporarily. Lavode's communal protection from energy should also be invaluable.

![]() |

Hmm good point. I'll buy two potions of fly as well, that I can feed to Naala and then FLYING HALFLING WOLF RIDER HO!

![]() |

...
Alden is buying a Seducer's Bane Bracelet for 9900gp.
I had not noticed that one before. I like it! Even though it is kinda expensive, it is a big plus to some of the most lethal saves in the game.

Hey guys, I've found us a sixth party member. She will be playing a 10th level archer, which should fit nicely in our group.
Everyone loves a pin-cushioned KRunelord. :)

![]() |

Hi all!
FYI, I will be using a gm-star replay for this game. I previously played an online session that lost half it's players to a thunderstorm during the second combat, so I haven't actually seen Krune or anything from his bag of tricks.
PFS number: 108027-7
Name on roll20: Lorraine
PC level: Oracle 1/Slayer 9

![]() |

Awesome. More damage is always welcome. =)
Glad to have you on board! =)
Ralph, check your e-mail btw.

Just noticed this...can't believe you made that pun before me. XD

Our Mysterious Benefactor |

Welcome Lorraine! I will be kicking us into high-gear shortly, so everyone get your final checks done.

![]() |

Sorry, was certain I had updated.
Lavode was not able to get in a table this last weekend, so he’s still level 10.
He will replace the used Oil of Daylight (750 gp) and purchase a Page of Spell Knowledge: Summon Monster II (4k gp) to be used for scouting without needing to burn my highest level slots.
Other than that, ready to go.

![]() |

Found the item I was looking for.
Spell lattice for the spell False Life - 3600 gp (Using Master of Trade vanity)
It's the same as a page of spell knowledge, but it's a crystal, so it looks cooler and won't be damaged by water. =)

![]() |

... So, how many of us didn't buy a CLW wand before this scenario?

![]() |

GM, can we get the link to the map in the short description for the scenario. It would make it a lot easier to access.

![]() |

Uses greatsword,so not swashbuckler or monk
Has evasion but no sneak attack, so not rogue either.
Are those guys some kind of fighter or ranger archetype?

![]() |

GM: I delayed till after Exiel, so I should be going after him now.
Players: I am considering dropping a stinking cloud in the room. I cast life bubble on all of us so none of us will need to make saves, and they need to make fort saves each round or be nauseated. But it will also cut off vision beyond 5ft so everyone will need to go into melee, which makes it difficult for Nienna. I could also just throw a net at one of them. Even I can make a ranged touch attack vs flat-footed AC. What do you guys think?

![]() |

I would prefer to let Nienna keep doing her (pretty substantial) damage. But the cloud wouldn't affect Alden and Naala's ability to help others' AC, so no real preference when it comes to him.

![]() |

The other thing is that in melee it will give you guys the same 20% miss chance against them as they have against you guys. I was only considering it since alot of Nienna's extra damage is being negated right now.
I'll go with the net for now, but I should be going after Exiel now.

![]() |

Waves Oracle with the Water Sight mystery = can see through fog/clouds. Her combat build in large areas is based on casting obscuring mist.
Have I mentioned that her design is a little ridiculous at high levels?

![]() |

I'll remember that when we're fighting Krune. Unfortunately these guys have concealment, which negates your sneak attacks.
GM: Before I forget, when we roll for initiative against Krune, Ralph will use his black rider mantle to add +3 to his initiative and dismiss his heightened awareness spell to add another +4. My total initiative modifier will be +10 for that roll against Krune.

![]() |

Guys, I don't ever do this unless requested by the group and the GM is ok with it, but if desired I could start summoning creatures into that area where we all assume Krune will show up.

![]() |

I think wait for another 30 seconds or so. It looks like Krune will be coming out in "less than a minute", and we want to make sure you get some good duration's worth for your summons.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Exiel also has the black rider mantle and heightened awareness cast on him, and will use them for rolling initiative when Krune appears.
I'll be rolling at +16. =p Ralph will never have the satisfaction of going first! Never I say! (I also have a one-time boon that I can use for another +10...but I think that would really be overkill. XD)

Our Mysterious Benefactor |

Exiel, I was shocked too when he rolled a Possible Crit AND managed to hit the right image. Even my poor dice get lucky sometimes! And Ralph, those guys were fighter/shadowdancers! Uncanny dodge negated the invisible sneak attack and their alignments were Chaotic Neutral, so no holy damage. Add in the Blur potions and you have a surprisingly meaty enemy. Definitely did not expect them to last 4 rounds!

![]() |

Hmm...I think I know what that thing is.
I don't think it is Krune's proper fate to survive this. >:(
But well done on finding it. And with that, I think I can also confirm that Krune does not have summon monster 9 prepared, which makes me very happy.
Nienna, do you have the ability to sneak attack from 60ft away? If yes, delay until after Krune's turn. I'll drop a stinking cloud on him so you can sneak attack him.

![]() |

Nice damage! If his spell resistance was from the spell Spell Resistance it's level-dependent and would be lowered by the level drain. *crosses fingers*
My Round 3 was the double-move. Done.
I am quite sure that Krune used the mothman's 'agent of fate' ability to remove the negative levels by deciding that Krune being victorious is the 'proper course of fate'. That would allow the mothman to create a restoration effect.
One could say that Exiel's crit shows that 'the proper course of fate' was actually for Krune to die by our hands. We never actually confirmed that Krune had spell resistance. But the mothman definitely does, and I beat it. Even if the mothman survives my fireball, 42 would finish him off.
Edit: Based on Krune's response to 42's scorching ray, it looks like Krune does not have spell resistance or fire resistance.

Our Mysterious Benefactor |

I still have a wrap-up post, but I have reported the session and sent google drive links to the sheets via Private Message. If you have any issues with them, let me know.
Is there any interest in playing another game? If so, would you like me to continue GMing or would someone else like to take over?

![]() |

I'd be happy to play another. I'm in the middle of a move so I can't offer to run yet, but perhaps the one after that.

![]() |

I am currently GMing 2, so i would love to just play one :)

![]() |

I'm happy to do either. If you want to GM again, I'm keen to play. If not, I can see about running, although I'm only posting from work at the moment as I recently moved and the internet provider's taking forever to set us up with internet at the new place. So the pace might be a little choppy. It's also the reason I have not been able to play any game-sessions on roll20. =(

![]() |

I just reached level 11. Would like to play at least one more scenario before going back to running, so I can play with Ralph's new 6th level spells.
I will run the fourth book of Reign of Winter for the next PBP game day, since Ralph has all my GM credit for Reign of Winter so far, so I will be going slow track for this level.

![]() |

I will have to check, I think this also makes Lavode level 11.
Not entirely sure what spells or magic items to pick (though I definitely need to remember another click stick).
Don't think I'm quite sufficiently confident in the combination of my GM'ing and computer tech skills to try a PFS PbP as GM yet.
Though in the nest couple of weeks, I think I may attempt a few lower ones. That will be to verify I have the correct mapping tools and other stuff down competently.
Then I'll probably try to start some PbP mid-higher level PFS games. There seem to usually be plenty at the low level range. Not so many above that.
When I do, I will try to drop you guys a note to give you first shot at getting in if you want.
I'm always up to play though.

![]() |

Alden is now at 11-1/3.

Our Mysterious Benefactor |

Are you guys at all interested in running the Retirement Arc, Eyes of the Ten? This seems like a good party to attempt it with, given how I've heard the arc can be tough for those unprepared for it.
Also, I'm game to GM some more. When we were picking this one, I threw out a few ideas. I noticed Kirin and Kracken seemed to be free for everyone; is there interest in that or shall we choose something new?

![]() |

Unfortunately I've already run through it with another character, and I don't have the time to commit to running it for my second credit.
I'd be up for Kirin and Kraken.

![]() |

I, too, have ran through it with another character.
