Kythorn 4, 1372 DR
Riatavin, City of Thetyr.

Five years have passed since the last time any of you have seen another member of the former adventuring band.

@ Auron

You were in the great library of Candlekeep Reading about some ancient stories of heroes and wars when you were informed of the decease of Tandall Ironsoul. You did not waste time and Teleported to Riatavin a city of Thetyr, the place when your friend knew the death. You soon met Castien Terendil an old friend and also new arrival to the city.

@Castien

You and Your wife were not surprised when she learned about the death of hear father, he was not a young man. However it was a surprise to know that he was murdered.

Living in Silverymoon you had no problem locating the services of an wizard that (for a fee) teleported you To Riatavin, the last place where Tandall lived. You soon met Auron Lucktride cleric of Ohgma an old friend and also new arrival to the city.

@ Auron And Castien

We do not really know what happened – Say Comrad Grayflame highwatcher of the church of Helm – He lived like an Hermit. The city guard came to his home due to the scandal of a fight but they came too late. Tandall was already death. The home was half destroyed by force and by magic, and there wre signs of Tandall defending himself agasint something but nothing more. And excuse me but soon I Should start Tandall´s ceremony

@ Sun Xiao.

You were in your natal Calimport when you heard the news of the decease of Tandall. He was though, focused and somewhat ruthless when pursuing a goal. That was one of the reason you joined him in many adventures. Your personalities conflicted many times but there was a mutual respect.

You enter a small Temple dedicated To Helm, the vigilant one. You are not surprised to see so few people in there, Tandall had few friends, he was somewhat grumpy.

You came, I am so glad. – Say to you Danissa Ironsoul, daughter of Tandall and wife of Castien Terendil Former partner of yours. – I know you and my father had some discrepancies but he always respected and trusted you. I knew you will be here

@ Kobal

I will post your part when I have something of the fluff of your character.

First player! Auron FTW!

Auron speaks to Sir Comrad in a polite but assertive manner:

Sir Comrad, before you attend to Tandall's ceremony, would you be so kind as to answer me a few questions? First of all, I'd like to know ifs any priest or mage tried to contact Tandall's soul .

Yes, I and others clerics tried to speak with Tandall´s soul. We were unable to do it though, Nothing answered to us.

I see. Have you tried any other divinations?

Auron
We did, bu the events of yesterday are shadowed somehow. We also try to revive Tandall but we were unable to do so. - Said the cleric

Auron seems intrigued. He knows it's difficult to block divinations.

That's unusual. Something is off... I'd like to see Tandall's body... If anything, we can at least use a little divine magic to preserve his body until we find out what happened to Tandall's soul and how to save him

But first, would be so kind as to direct me to the ceremony? I'd like to offer my condolences to Tandall's family... Besides, I'm eager to meet my old comrades, is any of them already here?

I think we can hold it until someone else is ready to play, Nicos, or we can assume my character arrived first. Whatever is better for you. I'm free until tomorrow night, but that's probably not the case for most players here.

I wouldn't miss it for the world Danissa. Despite our differences, I always counted your father among one of my closest companions. He was a brave, honorable man, and I'm truly sad he's gone.

But, if you'll excuse me for a moment, I see another of our intrepid band of adventurers has arrived.

Sun Xiao turns to Auron and walks over to him from across the room.

I'm here, Auron, I came as soon as I heard. Is there any news on how he might have died? The message I got was very vague.

It's all very sudden. I knew we would all die sooner or later, but I never thought it would be this soon, or that Tandall would be the first to go.

Auron smiles at the sight of his old friend. He offers a friendly hug as the warrior aproaches.

Ah, Sun Xiao! My old friend! It's good to see you! I only wish it were on less dire circumstances...

Auron now seems a bit concerned, but he answers in a calm voice.

I see you still go straight to the point, Sun Xiao. According to Sir Comrad, no priest or arcanist was capable of divining what happened. They were not even capable of contacting Tandall's soul... I'll prepare some divinations of my own first thing in the morning, but it's obvious this is no normal crime... Until then, we can at least investigate the crime scene. I'd also like to take a look at Tandall's body.

Auron now notices Danissa Ironsoul.

If you excuse, my friend, I'll offer my condolences to Lady Ironsoul. It won't take long, come with me, so that we can continue our conversation...

Auron walks towards Danissa. His voice is heavy with sorrow.

Lady Danissa... I'm so sorry for your loss. The world lost a great man. Though we all suffer with such a tragedy, I can't even imagine how painful it is for you, m'lady. You have my condolences and my word that I'll do my best to find out the truth behind this tragedy, so that I can help you and your father in any way I can. If you'd allow me, I'd like to see Tandall's body.

My post ended up longer than I thought... Sorry for that. Also, I edited it to fix a few typos -.-'

Coming through the doorway, an elf of slight build enters the room. His silvery white hair hanging below his shoulders frames his narrow face set off by his gaze from a pair of striking cerulean orbs. His suit of courtier's clothes are of fine tailoring; the soft dove grey of the suede complimented by the cloth of silver trim. A beautiful rapier hangs from his right hip, the pommel, cross-guard and basket hilt, composed of what appears to be onyx, offset by large luminous moonstones.

It is still such a shock to see Tandall lying in a bier. The man made it through a life of adventuring to be cut down an eye-blink later. If only I could have honored his wishes with regards to Danissa. He deserved to have her in his life if for only a few short years...

The pale elf is shaken from his reverie at the sight of two of his former companions standing in conversation with his young wife. He cannot help but smile at their appearance; old memories stirring his heart.

"My friends! My heart leaps at the sight of you. We were apart far too long. It is good to see you, but I wish it could have been under any other circumstances."

Turning to give Danissa a chaste kiss on her cheek, he murmurs, "The priests have done your father proud. You will think him only sleeping, such is the skill with which they labored."

Danissa: I am really happy to see that my father had true friends. If you excuse me, I am going to leave you alone so you can discuss without interuption She leaves, leaving the three of you and the Cleric of Helm.

The clerics guides you to the corpse of Tandall. It is in a good shape, he seems like sleeping.

Comrad GreyFlame: He had several bruises and a couple of small cuts, nothing life threatening. There was just one fatal injury, a sword injury, somebody pierced him in the chest, from side to side.

Male Human Titan Mauler 13

I have some fluff up on my alias now, I will put up more later.

Male Garuda-blooded Aasimar Cleric 13 - HP 93/120; AC 26(tch 17, ff 19); CMD 29; Blur (20% Miss Chance); Fort +16, Ref +12, Will +18; Darkvision, Blindsense (30ft), Perception +22, Sense Motive +24; Initiative +6

"Cas! It's been too long, my friend!"

Auron gives Castien a friendly hug as well... He doesn't seem to mind the concept of personal space. He hasn't seen his friends in years, after all.

"It's a shame it took such a tragedy for us to be reunited... Hopefully, Kobal will join us shortly. As soon as he does, we should start our investigations. Tandall was no pushover and blocking divination spells is no easy task... Whoever did this is a dangerous enemy, we should not give it time to prepare for us."

Auron inspects Tandalls body in hope of finding anything unusual. He expects to find a spell to preserve the corpse, but who knows what else is there to be found...

Auron uses Detect Magic while inspectiong Tandall's body. He looks for anything out of the ordinary and informs it to the other characters if he finds it. He tries to identify any supernatural effects he might detect.

If given time, he takes 20 on both his Perception check (41) and Spellcraft check (39). If not possible for him to do so, he simply takes 10, in which case he gets Perception (31) and Spellcraft (29).

"I wish I had prepared better divinations... Alas, I was preparing to go on a research travel when I was informed of Tandall's departure..."

It seems I've been posting a bit too often here...So I'll wait for the other players to act now.

"Castien." he says with a friendly nod in his direction "It's great to see you too."

He gives a look at Danissa, with on eyebrow slightly raised.

"And you do seem to have done well for yourself, though I should have expected nothing else."

He turns to Danissa.

"I swear we will do everything in our power to figure out what happened. There's no evidence but something doesn't...FEEL right about all of this. I don't buy that Tandall was taken down by some common street thug, especially not so easily. At the very least I'd expect to see a number of other corpses around him. Man was a fierce fighter."

Sun Xiao also scans the corpse.

Perception is at +23, so +33 with Take 10, +43 with Take 20 if that's possible.

Castien gladly returns his friend's hug. "It has been too long, Auron."

Pulling back to take in Sun Xiao, the elf nods at his remark. "Tis true. I have been very fortunate." He nods to Danissa, briefly squeezing her hand before letting go.

"We have much to learn. I held off making any search of Tan before you arrived in the hopes that working together we could learn more. His body rests this way." Castien follows the Helmite.

Castien also uses detect magic on the corpse of his father-in-law.

Take 20 on Perception: 34 (24 on take 10).
Take 20 on Spellcraft: 47 (37 on take 10).
Take 20 on Knowledge (arcana) to determine what spells, if any found: 42 (32 on take 10).

A quick post cause I am at the university

There is nothing really remarkable in Tandall´s body. There is no magical aura that indicates magic that kills without causing physical harm like Phantasmal killer. The cause of death is most likely the single sword injury he have in the chest.

There are, however, several lingering magical auras (mostly necromancy, the others are blurry) but you can not tell is the aura is because Tandall cast a spell, somebody else cast a spell upon him or the attempts to communicate with his soul and/or revivify him.

Sun Xiao settles back on his heels and contemplates the looks of intense concentration on his companion's faces.

He waits until they've relaxed somewhat.

"I can't find anything out of the ordinary here. By all appearances he was killed by that single sword wound. Hmph."

"I was thinking perhaps poison might be the culprit, but if it was in his system it's long gone by now, I'd assume. What do your magical senses tell you?"

Male Garuda-blooded Aasimar Cleric 13 - HP 93/120; AC 26(tch 17, ff 19); CMD 29; Blur (20% Miss Chance); Fort +16, Ref +12, Will +18; Darkvision, Blindsense (30ft), Perception +22, Sense Motive +24; Initiative +6

Auron looks disappointed. He shares what he sees with his friends.

"There are all sorts of magic auras clinging to him, especially death magic, but I can't say if they originated from the Clerics' divinations and preserving spells or from whatever killed our friend... Probably both..."

Auron sighs heavily... "I didn't expect to learn much about what happened, but I'm still disappointed... Oh, well. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to prepare a few divinations tomorrow... Who knows how competent are the spell casters in this place."

Auron ponders for a while, before responding to Sun Xiao's observation.

"You might be right about poison... But I'm not sure...Even in his old age, Tandall was strong as a bull. Killing him would require an unusually powerful poison. But it may have weakened him enough for the culprit to be able to deal the fatal blow." says Auron, while indicating the sword wound on Tandall's body.

"We should check the crime scene. Hopefully, it'll be more enlightening. Sir Comrad mentioned Tandall was involved in a fight the day he died, so we should also find out who was his opponent and why they were fighting."

Auron turns to Castien this time.

"Cas, I'll understand if you want to comfort Danissa in such a difficult time, but we must not let the trail go cold, so I'd like to investigate the crime scene as soon as possible, and we could really use your help..."

If both his friends agree, Auron calls for Sir Comrad and asks him to show them where Tandall's death took place

"That sounds like the best course of action, Auron."

He turns to Danissa.

"Danissa, at what time is the funeral set to start? It's important to begin this investigation, to be sure, but I would not pass up the opportunity to pay my respects to Tandall."

Sun Xiao wrote:

@Sun - Danissa left the group in the first scene.

Castien rubs his eyes to help dispel the multiple blurry auras from his vision as he speaks, "I do not see anything inherently magical that contributed to his death. The sword wound seems to have been the death blow. We would need to see how much blood was around his corpse at the scene to know if he bled out. That seems an unlikely course at this late date."

He looks thoughtful at Sun's mention of a poison. "If there were poison on the blade, we might be able to detect it in the wound with magic." He looks to Auron, his brow raised in a question. "That would be your purview, friend cleric. Do you currently have the ability to detect any lingering poisons?"[b]

As the companions continue to discuss their next move, Castien chimes in, [b]"I, too, would like to join you in your investigation. I believe that Brother Conrad knows the hour of the service." Turning to the priest, he asks, "What time are the services meant to commence?"

@ Sun, Auren, Castien

Comrad: I will lead you to that place once I finish Tandall´s ceremony - Apparently the investigations have to wait for awhile.

The ceremony is in a small and austere shrine dedicated to Helm The vigilant one. Only you, Danissa and a couple of kigths of the Tandall´s order are present. Comrad start remembering Tandall personality, how focused, dedicated and religious he was, ever vigilant of the helpless in need. He then proceed to list all Tandall´s deeds and accomplish as an adventurer, and quickly remembering that it was all done by the faith in Helm (well, you that knew him better might disagree in some aspect but none of you interrupted the speech) . He the give Tanall´ssword to Danissa, it was the only magic item he possesed at the moment of his death.

The Ceremony was short, direct and right to the point, pretty much as Tandall would have wanted it.

Comrad: I am now free – He say. All the other attendees show their respect to Danissa and departed. I will wait outside until you are ready. , Comrad said and then he left leaving you three an Danissa alone.

Danissa: Thanks for being here guys

@ Kobal

You were chasing a band of orcs in the marchin mountains near of Calimshan when a small magical letter came to your hands. You have problems to understand it but someone do you the favour of reading it to you. It informed of the dead of Tandall Ironsoul former brother in arms.

You immediately ride toward the city of Riatavin. Day and night you ride without resting.

You finally get to the place of Tandall´s exequy, a small shrine dedicated to the god Helm. There ceremony already started so you wait outside to not disturb it. Inside the Srhine there were three other members of your former adventuring band (the ceremony was as described above).

Then the ceremony ended, all the other people left the place, leaving inside only your former comrades and Danissa (Tandalls´daughter)

Castien solemnly attends to the intonations of the priest during the service. His mind is awash with memories of his adventuring days. Tandall always leading the charge into every scrape they encountered. The old man's tendency to smile in the middle of combat, as if he was at his most comfortable in battle. The elf frowns as his last meeting with his old commander comes forth. The look of hurt anger that Tandall had for Castien when he and Danissa confronted him with their decision to marry despite his withholding his blessing. The few curt words that passed between them; their shared code of personal honor preventing them from coming to blows.

Sensing Danissa's grief, Castien places his arm around her to show his support and share this sorrowful moment.

@Castien: Gah, I keep missing things. Everyone's coming in and moving around so much I can't keep up. =/

Sun Xiao sits through the service in silence, lost in thought as the priest's words washed over him.

While Tandall and he had had their differences, they had argued frequently and heatedly on many occasions in fact, Sun Xiao had held him in a place of high regard.

While Sun Xiao scoffed at the sentimentality that ruled most of Tandall's actions, he couldn't help but hold a deep respect for the man. Tandall was always honest with him, never beat around the bush and always said his mind up front, no matter if he knew there would be disagreements and anger or not. Sun Xiao appreciated that directness and honesty more than he'd ever let on.

I don't know if you'd approve or not, Tandall, though I doubt it, you always were soft. But I swear I will find the person who killed you and make sure they pay dearly.

Auron looks embarrassed. He never liked being unable to help. Especially when he could have contributed more by simply changing one of his selection of most basic spells.

"Sorry, Cas. I failed to foresee such occasion... I'll be better prepared tomorrow..."

Later, during the ceremony, Auron stays silent most of the time. He knows and respects the church of Helm, of course, but there is no harm in offering a silent prayer in the name of Oghma as well, right?

Auron always liked Tandall. He was an inspiration to the group, the one who kept them marching forward during even the direst of circumstances. His bravery and optimism were never shaken... At least, not before that sad day, when he saw than he was meant to see.

"All these people seem so inconsolable... Have they given up already?"- Auron thought to himself. He knew that wasn't a fair judgement to these people, but that didn't change how he felt - "Tandall didn't die of old age in the comfort of his bed, as he deserved after all he went through... He was murdered! And I'll find a way to save him. At the very least, Tandall deserves a peaceful existence in the afterlife! May Helm protect your soul, old friend, and may Oghma enlighten me so that I can help you! I brought friends back from the dead before! I can do it again! Sure, your return will be be a more troublesome than that of anyone else, but you wouldn't like it any other way, would you? You always appreciated a good challenge..."

Despite his optimism and sincere faith that the team would succeed in bringing Tandall back, or at least in giving him a much deserved peaceful rest, Auron couldn't help but be taken by sadness at the thought of his old friend...

When the ceremony ends, Auron call his friends, doing his best to look as confident as possible.
"Very well, guys... Tandall's bravery and valor were always there for us when we needed. He never cared for wasting time. Now it's time for us to return the favor! There a mystery to be solved, an enemy to be punished and a friend to be saved!"
His sorrow is still rather obvious, but so is his faith in his friends. They never let him down before, there is no reason to think they would start now.

Auron then directs his words to the old cleric of Helm.

"Sir Comrad. Take us to the crime scene."

"Wait for us, Tandall! We'll find you in no time!"

As if to convince himself of his own thoughts, Auron casts a blessing of speed.

Auron casts Longstrider on himself. This is one of his domain spells. It increases his speed by +10ft. That means Auron has a base speed of 50ft for the next 13h. He doesn't intend to run ahead of the party, though, the spell was just a way to boost his own morale.

"We were just about to go check out the crime scene and see what we could dig up. You coming?"

Castien breaks into a smile. "Kobal! It is good that you came. Tandall would have liked knowing you were here."

Auron smiles at the sight of his old friend.

"Ah... If it isn't my favorite Greatsword dual-wielding warrior! I'm glad you are here, Kobal! It wouldn't be the same without you ripping enemies apart in the front lines!"

Seeing the whole group together for the first time in years fills Auron with even more confidence that they will succeed.

"Now that we're all here, nothing can stop us! One more adventure for our unlikely party."- Auron pauses for a second before speaking again, this time with a jokingly tone in his voice - "Hopefully, I won't have to regenerate my own arm this time. That scroll cost me a small fortune, you know..."

Kobal, the proud barbarian came at last. Four of the six member of the former adventuring party are reunited again.

1. I am leaving the possibility of another party member just in case we wanted/needed it in the future.
2. Kobal player tellme he will be unavailable until Friday so for now Kobal will just follow you without doing much

Comrad, lead you and Danissa (she insisted) to Tandall´s home. It is a very small and humble place; it only had the necessary to live and no luxury. The place is half destroyed, a combination of brute force and destructive magic. Yet, Comrad remind you that there is but one mortal wound (the sword one), the rest were minor injuries.

Detect magic reveals multiple lingering auras. Evocation, necromancy but mostly conjuration and teleportation,.

He fighted right?, he just did not die, he fight to the end. - Say Danissa. Surely he is by the side of Helm by now - She is a Woman with a strong character, like her father.

"This is your father we are talking about, lady Danissa. I don't need any divination to know he fought as fiercely as possible to his last breath."

Auron feels conflicted, he is not sure if he should tell Danissa about the disappearance of Tandall's soul. In the end, he remembers Tandall never hid anything from them, if she Danissa inherited even a fraction of her father's bravery, she would not despair.

"There are... unfortunate news, however, my lady... No priest or mage was capable of contacting Tandall's soul. I'm sure Helm holds a place of honor for your father, but whoever did this made it so he couldn't go there yet"

Just thinking about it made Auron mad. But he continued to speak...

"But do not despair, my lady, your father trusted us for a reason. We'll find your father's soul wherever he is, and we'll bring it back, or, at least, allow him to sit at his rightful place in the realm of Helm."

Auron looks around the room.

"We'll do our best to solve this mystery, but maybe you can help us as well... Surely you knew this place much better than any of us. Other than the debris and destruction, do you see anything unusual?"

- Auron talks to Danissa while looking around the room. If given time, he takes 20 on both his Perception check (41) and Spellcraft check (39). If not possible for him to do so, he simply takes 10, in which case he gets Perception (31) and Spellcraft (29).
- Also, both Auron and Sun Xiao have Blindsight to detect intelligent creatures (from Circlet of Mindsight), so
- Last but not least, Auron uses his Aasimar SLA "See Invisibility" while looking around the room. He can see invisible stuff for 130min.

That news really Wring Danissa. She almost falls but she lean in castien arms. I know You will do your best. I am sorry but I can not really tell anything about this place, My father and I were distanced in hte last years - She answered to Auron. I will leave you alone, I am probably just a Hindrance. and then she speak to Castien Take this (Tanddall´s astard Sword) I have no need of it and It might help you - Comrad offers himslef to lead Danissa to a palce were she can rest, they leave.

Moments later, Just before Auron could cast his See invisibility spell everyone clearly hear the following

"I am Afraid You are right my dear Auron, Tandall soul is not with helm" - You heard in amelodic voice. A familiar figure just materilize before your eyes.

I thought We will have no chance to meet again but only afther you all passed to the aftherlive, A shame I was wrong said Miranna the Watcher.

"This bodes well, to an extent. It looks like whoever attacked here was either very sloppy, or didn't care if people knew he or it was here. I would be quite surprised if there were no sign of their presence, and clue of just WHAT was here."

Sun Xiao looks around for any tracks or signs of a creature (claw marks, blood, and so on) that they may be able to follow, taking 20 if possible (Perception 43, Survival 38), 10 if not (Perception 33, Survival 28). +2 to both if it's an Evil Outsider of some sort.

Before he could complete his sweep, however, an angelic figure appeared in the doorframe.

Sun Xiao had never known what to make of Miranna.

She claimed to be completely impartial, just an observer, which put him on edge. He didn't trust anyone who claimed to have no bias. It usually meant they were either deluding themselves or trying to deceive you.

Nevertheless, he'd come to accept that she could reveal some enlightening information on occasion.

Sun Xiao settled back against a wall and listened impassively to what Miranna had to say.

He uses Sense Motive as she talks to determine the trustworthiness of her words. (Take 10=33)

"Miranna...

Auron looks more surprised than pleased with the sudden appearance of the Deva.

Auron directs his words to her, and his voice speaks in the language of heavens. Most creatures are more receptive to those who share their language, after all.

"Usually I'd be happy to see a beautiful woman appear out of thin air... And yet, I don't think this is a social visit. I can't shake this feeling that your presence here is not a good sign..."

Auron never thought Miranna bore ill-intention, but he couldn't fully trust her either. Outsiders, even the good ones, have this annoying habit sharing incomplete information...

"Tell us what you know, Miranna... You owe Tandall at least that much... What happened here? Who did this?"

Auron speaks to her in celestial. Auron takes 10 on Kn(Planes) (30)to remember what he can about Devas. He also takes 10 on Sense Motive 33) to notice if she lies and/or hides anything from them

Castien takes Danissa into his arms at Auron's distressing news. "Fear not, dear heart. We will discover the truth of the matter and ensure Tandall's eternal rest." The elf quietly murmurs into his wife's ear as he holds her in his consoling embrace.

The moon elf's features slide into a quizzical look as he is handed his father-in-law's treasured bastard sword. "Of course, I will guard and protect it, milady, but are you sure you want me to take it with us?"

Castien wields no sword but Tahl’larlylth, a fact that his wife would know as well as his companions.

Castien holds Danissa's hand, conveying his love to her through the gesture. At the appearance of Miranna, his eyes grow large. The magus holds mixed emotions for the deva and is always uncomfortable in her presence.

@ Sun Xiao
They were not that easy to see (cause hte destruction) but there are indeadsome claw marks. There are also some stains that might be some dry blood. you also smell something odd, some odor that remind you some creature but ou can not tell what creature at the moment (but it is certainly extraplanar).

@ Castien
I am weak my dear, the sword just remind me how weak I am. Please take it, even if you never use it it is better with you - She said before leaving
@ Auron
You have acces to most information about Devas (you can look at the book for the information under 30 Knowledge (planes)). They are mesengers of the gods of goodness, guardians of mortals and wandering souls.
Yet, "this" Watchers are somewhat diferent, aside form Miranna you have never known another of her kin, and the few things you have read about them just acknowledge teir existence and nothing more.

==============================

I am afraid that I really do not know much. I was not here when it happened - She say in common answering Auron´s question. -I am here because I respect Tandall Ironsoul, When I learned about his death I searchedd for him in Helm´s Domain but his soul was not there, I then searched for him in The fuge plane, domain of Lord Kelemvor but his soul was not there either. I really did not have time to investigate it further.

@Auron. Is she Hiding something: most likely (as always). Is she lying: you really have no idea, you feel like her emotions are totally alien.

I can tell you one thing at least, This was a Daemon work, the stench is filling gthe place

"Heard of...?" Auron asks intrigued "Who told you about Tandall's demise? And why would they keep tabs on our friend in the first place? Could it be for the same reason that brought daemons here?"

There is something fishy about all this, and Auron doesn't like it...

I'm back!
Kobal follows the rest of his friends without so much as a word after greeting them. He seems nervous about everything that is going on and stands a few paces back from everyone else as they talk.

The day any other of you die It will not pass a day Until I notice it, there is nothing spcial in that. I am sorry I can not help you more but I sincerily hope you find your friend soul, afther death every soul should go to their rightful place. I must go now, best of luck for you. - She became invisible (In game term as a swift action), only Auron with see invisibility can see her but then she cast plane shift and disapear.

EDIT: Now there is no interruption, besides detect magic d you have any other way to follow lingering magical auras?

Ah damn, Only now I see I forget a part of Mirannas´s speech , it shoudl have been

"The day any other of you die It will not pass a day Until I notice it, there is nothing spcial in that. I Will search the planes for any information about Daemon involvement in Tandalls death, I am sorry I can not help you more but I sincerily hope you find your friend soul, afther death every soul should go to their rightful place. I must go now, best of luck for you."

"A Daemon?" Sun Xiao growled "I hate those filthy creatures. No honor or restraint, just death."

"If it turns out Tandall was killed by a Daemon I will make the thing wish for the sweet release of its soul's destruction."

"Auron, have you found anything I may have missed?"

"Well that was informative..." Castien looks around to his companions for their reactions.

"It would seem that outside of the usual detect magic we will have to wait until tomorrow before we can utilize any more powerful divinations. Let's finish up here then we can search outward in a spiral pattern to see if there is anything in the surrounding environs that might give us a clue."

"No such luck, Sun... I didn't prepare divinations today, and the only thing invisible around here was Miranna, and she's gone now."

Auron reviews all the information in his mind., then he remember an important detail, one that could lead to the next step in their investigation.

"The fight! Sir Comrad mentioned that Tandall was involved in a fight the day before his death. Whoever was his opponent surely he or she hold precious information!"

If Sir Comrad is still around, Auron speaks directly to him now, otherwise, he goes around looking for the old priest

"Sir Comrad, who was this person with whom Tandall had such a heated discussion? And where can we find him (or her)?

"Great idea, Auron. Let's go see about that person."

Not the day before, The same day
Comrad: To my knowledge it was just a small fight, nothing really important But well, the guy name is Guld he is just a peasant you can probably locate him in a tavern

You do your homework and quickly find the guy in a tavern as comrad said

Guld: So the old man died, I tmakes me happy he was mad jaja - The guy is just a nobody, he have several brushes tandall give him a good beating.

So as you have several means to obtain answers this is what guld say

Q: " How did you knew him" ; A: We drink togheter from time to time, the old man was poor but always have some money to spare in alcohol

(This is completely weird, He never drank too much, one of the most sacred tenets of the cruch of Helm is to be ever watchful)

Q: "why did you fight" ; A: That day he did not want to drink, he was like meditative, I get angry I insult him then I insult his daughter, big mistake for me, the man was crazy

Q: "Why do you say he was crazy" ; Well, because he was, he had nigtmares constantly, and when drunk he always talked of the "reality behind" and the "nightmares of the dead gods" or something, I do not know.

"Sounds like a plan."

"Gives the mundane a chance to shine, eh?" he says with a quick grin.

"Drink together? That's odd..." - Auron thinks to himself, before speaking to Guld once more, this time with a less friendly tone in his voice.

"Now, Mr.Guld, here's the thing... Our friend is dead and the criminal still roams free. We want to know all you can tell us about Tandall recent behavior, what do you know about his interests and acquaintances... And why would he drink with you of all people?"

Auron looks impatient. They have no time to waste with the foolishness of a drunk peasant.

"Look at my friends here, Mr.Guld..."

He now indicates his friends to the drunk man. First, he points to Sun Xiao.

"This one, I've seen him break a golem in half with nothing but his bare fists. Do you know what a Golem is, Mr.Guld? They are huge creature made of metal and magic.Very resitant creatures, if I might say.

Then, he moves on to Castien

"The elf over there... I've seen channel enough energy to make lightnings look like little sparks. Have you ever been hit by lightning, Mr.Guld? It's a rather unpleasant experience."

And finally, Auron points to Kobal.

"The last one... Well.. I think the fact that he carries 2 greatswords as easily as if they were a pair of spoon speaks by itself..."

He now looks straight into the eyes of Guld.

"And I... Well, I can keep you alive so they all have a turn questioning you."

"Tell us what you know, Mr.Guld... And this time, be more respectful of Tandall's memory. We *always* remember those show us kindness as well as those who show us insult."
Auron puts strong emphasis on the word "always".

"Sun Xiao... Would you like to have a word with Mr.Guld?"

Whatever he says, Auron keeps taking 10 on Sense Motive (33). He also stays alert to all activity going around them, taking 10 on Perception (31)

"I just take avantage when he was spending money in alcohol, He drank with wichever was avaliable at the moment, I swear I d not know who kill him, he was like a bull I know of noone that coudl have kill him" - He say with a fear in his eyes (you have a really high sense motive so you are pretty sure he is not lying).

You were all focused in the poor bastard but then you could feel you were being watched. Something that can not be seen, an invisible creature. Auron with his see invisibility can see
A tiny creature known as a Cacodaemon watch you from te outside of the tavern. When the creature detect that you can sense it flees.

How far is the Cacodaemon? How fast does he run and in what direction? I assume Auron would have a approximate idea if he can reach the creature (Auron's currently base speed is 50ft)

CAcodaemon fly as 50 ft too

What was its initial distance from us? Is it flying high or close enough to the ground for an adult man to reach it?

If it was within 30 ft. I "see" it too. Blindsight. If I do it'll determine what my next post is. Beyond that:

Sun Xiao nods to Auron, showing that he thinks the man is telling the truth as well.
