Finn Killshrike |
"Why don't we open the door a tiny crack and see what's inside? I'm sure that whoever's in there heard us fighting already."
Finn moves up behind Toxim and Karkalla and also listens at the door.
1d20 + 24 ⇒ (6) + 24 = 30
Keeper of Forbidden Lore |
Karkalla does not get much of a look of the room past the door, it looks to be about 20 feet wide and craved from stone, but as soon as the door is opened she hears the hackles of baboons, but the ones she glances at are not normal, the are the wrong color, and have spikes and horns in places they should not. Karkalla has just enough time to slame the door shut if she wants, because the scream in rage and start charging toward the door.
You can slam the door, make an attack or something else if you like as a full mob of baboons are running toward you.
Keeper of Forbidden Lore |
The baboons slam into the door, she can feel them pulling trying to get though, fingers appear under the door and though cracks in the side as the howls grow louder.
You can try a str check to hold the door closed, but without some way of blocking it, baboons do have hands and they will get it open.
Ardanto Valanto |
Ardanto flexes his biceps as he grows bigger and grabs both his swords, he looks at Toxim and asks "There seems to be an awful lot of them."
"Mob", I hope that it is not that silly "mob" template they created so they could have angry pitchfork wielding commoners chasing Frankenstein?
He moves closer to the edge of the cliff and gets ready for the howling mass.
Keeper of Forbidden Lore |
Ok who is doing what? Is ardano on the ground or did he climb up? Who is on the ground? I am guessing Ardanto is on the upper edge? If so I have two sets of actions. Well four really, Karkalla has her crossbow out, Finn Has the door. Am I missing anything?
The Baboons hit the door, but so far Finn has been able to keep the door closed, but the push and grasp at the door even as he leans into it.
Daurros Erdai |
"As I said, I suggest we prepare for battle." I will hold my casting of haste until everyone finally agrees and gets ready for the fight.
Just to give everyone a 'head's up' - my December is going to be extremely hectic. I will be in China from December 3-7; then in Italy from December 10-15. Finally, we leave for vacation (Florida) on the 17th and will be back on January 3rd. From past experience, I will likely have limited internet while in China and Italy, and posting may be spotty while in Florida. I will update as often as I can, but if anything gets held up while waiting for me, feel free to DMPC Daurros as needed.
Keeper of Forbidden Lore |
On three Finn steps back allowing the Baboons to force open to door and they pour out in great numbers. They swarm everyone upon the top cliff, biting and clawing and climbing as they go. Finn and Ardanto manage to kill half a dozen but still they come.
Finn, Ardanto, Toxim and Karkalla all take 14 damage
I am guessing Daurros and Guard are on the ground, everyone else I am guessing is up top. I took your AoO's and assumed the haste spell was cast as it was ready. So new round
Init:
Doesn't really matter, the baboons rolled a 3, everyone goes first.

Would Karkalla not get a shot at them? I may have worded it badely but further up I was indicating she was taking a ready action (shoot them as soon as they open the door.)

Keeper of Forbidden Lore |
Sorry guys I had/Have some RL issues. Sorry for the lack of updates.
Although the baboons are numerous, they are no match for the Falcons. soon they all lay dead at you feet, mostly in pieces more often then not.
With the threat gone you can look into the foul smelling room. It seems to have no exits, but an iron grate in the middle and a stone throne at the far end of the room.
Ardanto Valanto |
Ardanto can not help but think nothing good comes from poking around in other peoples locked possessions as he remembers an incident with a young lady and a chastity belt purely fictitious, and part of the play that created this alter ego He nudges Daurros and winks, aware that he is covered in baboon gore. "I don't suppose I have to tell you to be careful Karka?" he calls out. "Why are there two chests? Are we supposed to link it to the two tunnels in the entrance and the two thrones that brought us here?" he inquires out loud.
Keeper of Forbidden Lore |
The left chest is trapped, Karkalla manages to disable it and open the chest, which is empty. The Right chest however is not trapped and far from empty. It contains thousands of gold and silver coins, resting on top is a Finely made Buckler of silver with the crest of old Galifar upon it, an Iron Monky Paw and a wand with the stamp of House Jorasco.
