Apollyanna Lapin Sukino |
Apollyanna ties 'em up.
"Anyone got something to tie these thugs up with?"
In order of importance to her, Apollyanna takes a CLW potion, a holy water, alchemist's fire and a cold iron dagger
Gailen Windbreak |
"Use my rope."
Gailen holds her glaive right at the old man's throat.
"What were you looking for? TELL US NOW!"
Intim: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Gailen has obviously lost it a bit, used to being the strongest and best, and not proving to be either today.
Apollyanna Lapin Sukino |
"Thanks Gailen. That's really- Whoa--?!"
Prisim |
Prisim grabs a couple of potions and pours them down Evarice
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
She helps herself to a couple of alchemists fire and tinderwigs.
"I'm starting to tire out a little. Having an option like this fire might be helpful."
She then reloads her crossbow.
"Think we can drag these out to the hall to find someone to take care of them for us?"
Pau |
Pau takes the last CLW potion and chugs it down. He also grabs a cold iron dagger, a holy water, an alchemist's fire, and a tanglefoot bad. "These guys came prepared, that's for sure."
CLW 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
GM Crucible |
The two potions help, and Evarice slowly regains consciousness.
Evarice will know better, but by my math, that puts her at 1 hp.
The Aspis looks stubbornly at Gailen, until she starts to look a bit more like a Skinsaw Cultist than a paladin. (The bloodshot eyes really make them seem more similar.) At that point his resolve quickly crumbles, and he nods at the notes Pau found. "Seems like you found 'em, miss, .. er, ma'am, I mean knight, ... uh, lady, ..." He trails off, trying not to dig his verbal hole any deeper. He's cowed, but doesn't provide much else of use to you, other than to affirm that Wyatt's suggestion of visiting the tapestry room is a good one.
Evarice Bue |
Hope keeps Evarice warm until she coughs up some liquid concoction. Prisim tries to pour a second potion, but Evarice pushes the liquid away.
"Hold, Prisim. W-what is this around my neck?" Evarice feels a shirt tied to stop the bleeding. "Thank you all. Shelyn herself would thank you for saving me."
She raises her symbol and channels.
Healing: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Healing: 1d6 ⇒ 3
The symbol stops responding. "Are you alright, Prisim? Good." She drinks the second potion.
-9 + 8 + 2 + 1 + 3 = 5 HP!
"Let's get to the tapestry room. I'll stay back."
Apollyanna Lapin Sukino |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Hope keeps Evarice warm until she coughs up some liquid concoction. Prisim tries to pour a second potion, but Evarice pushes the liquid away.
"Hold, Prisim. W-what is this around my neck?"
"It's a tank top. It says: Wisdom is My Dump Stat." Always conscious of other people's opinions of her, Apollyanna looks at Evarice a bit embarrassed.
Pau |
Pau nods at Wyatt's suggestion. "Let's head on upstairs. If the Apsis up there are as nasty as these, they will need our help sooner rather than later."
Evarice Bue |
Evarice Bue wrote:"It's a tank top. It says: Wisdom is My Dump Stat." "Hold, Prisim. W-what is this around my neck?"
Evarice ponders for a moment, unsure of what Apollyanna meant.
"Well, I'm happy you boosted your compassion." She smiles back and follows the group.
GM Crucible |
That leaves one found potion CLW unused from this encounter. Just sayin'.
Someone may also wish to count the consumed potions found from the previous encounter. Without counting myself, my suspicion is there is one more somewhere.
GM Crucible |
Right. All have been accounted for as some 'took' (stored) them, but not all have been used. Evarice is still at 5/13 hp. I wanted to give a brief healing break before moving on to the next scene.
We'll move to the tapestry room this afternoon.
Evarice Bue |
Evarice converts one more spell into words of healing and rubs her neck with it.
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Feeling most of the wound close, she nods to her allies. "My apologies for ruining your shirt, but it stopped the bleeding. Let us make haste to the tapestry room."
Gailen Windbreak |
"I'm glad to see you are alright, Evarice. That was a close call. Those disgusting Aspis dogs will not get away with this..."
Apollyanna Lapin Sukino |
So in the battle of the mausoleum we got a total of 4 CLW potions. Apollyanna used 1 before the next fight and Prism used a total of 3 (doesn't really matter the source) on Evarice to bring her around. Done.
At the end of the last fight we received 4 more, Pau drank 1, Apollyanna took 1, and that leaves us with 2. Nearly done, who wants 'em?
Also I thiink we have a good start on a 55 gallon drum of acid as well, a nice collection of daggers and other sundries. We should build a little shop. I love little shops.
GM Crucible |
With the party sufficiently healed, you trundle off to the Tapestry Room, leaving your captives with a departing group of injured Pathfinders along the way. As you approach the Tapestry Room, you see the doorway is dark.
You can't see this yet without Darkvision, but for simplicity's sake:
The table at the center of this rectangular room is completely contained within a rune-inscribed circle set into the floor. There are bloody drag marks in the doorway. Atop the table lies a Kelishite man’s body, spread-eagled and bloodstained. At the far end of the chamber hangs a ragged tapestry torn down its center. A peaceful wood with trampled undergrowth is visible through the tear, though the tapestry clearly hangs against a solid wall.
This room is unlit with a 20-foot-high ceiling. Although the room is dark, there is some little light shining through from the wooded area beyond the tapestry. You see dark silhouettes moving in front of it.
Those with low-light vision can see 10' inside the room from the hallway, and 10' from the far wall, but not the center of the room.
Apollyanna: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
Evarice: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Gailen: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10
Pau: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Prisim: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
Wyatt: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Group A: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (9) + 0 = 9
Group B: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (19) + 0 = 19
Prisim |
"Ohh, I can help!" says Prisim.
One by one a set of magical lights, the size of lanterns, pop into existence. They slowly bob their way into the room, as if carried by invisible hands.
Casts dancing lights
"Wow, is that the Tapestry? It's like... famous."
I've put the lights on the map, but they should illuminate the whole room I think.
Evarice Bue |
Keeping her bow ready, Evarice peers into the room using her elven eyesight.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
"Blood trail...something was dragged here." Evarice points at the red streak on the ground. "Be on your guard..."
GM Crucible |
I've gone ahead and expanded the dancing lights to their full 10' radius. They shine like torches, so light extends 10' beyond that. So no part of the room is dark, any more, but some of the edges are still low-light.
In the center of the room you can see what the silhouettes were: four syrinx, possibly dressed as clerics, dressed in studded leathers and armed with quarter staffs.
Surprise round
All four syrinx spread their wings and take to the air. (All are now 10' up.) They fly close to the entryway where you are, and position themselves in two clusters just over thirty feet apart.
"Pathfinders! You are the cause of our imprisonment, of our misery! Our hatchlings suffered for generations at your hands."

Evarice Bue |
Evarice hopes, prays that these Syrinx will stand down. If they weren't so aggressive Evarice would attempt to parley.
"Aspis has duped you. Hopefully you listen to us after we have subdued you."
Evarice casts sanctuary on herself and moves against the north wall.
Anyone who tries to attack her must make a Will save, DC 14 or lose their action.
GM Crucible |
The two syrinx to your right (down, on the map) grasp holy symbols, and release a burst of negative energy. They then flap their wings and fly further into the room, so as not to lose altitude.
30' burst, negative energy channel, selective channeling feat so as not to hurt each other. All of you are in the blast radius.

Evarice Bue |
Evarice feels the destructive force corrupt her body. Her faith in Shelyn holds firm and she takes minimal injury.
She uses the last of her divine energy to protect herself. "Aspis has duped you. Hopefully you listen to us after we have subdued you."
Casting sanctuary. They need to make a DC 14 Will Save to engage in any hostile activity against me.
GM Crucible |
They are definitely still violent. (Evarice's sanctuary spell went off, even though I neglected to mention it. She's still subject to AoEs without a roll, though)
"Bah, Pathfinders. Asmodeus grants us strength. The strong shall rule, and our forced captivity at your hand made us strong."
It's pretty clear they have no interest in negotiating.
GM Crucible |
To those of you with glaives: 10' up is outside a normal threat range, but you have reach, so a glaive would threaten... Apollyanna and Gailen can restate, if they like.
The two syrinx at the top of the room push off the wall and circle around toward the center.
One with a red sash casts a spell at Wyatt, and then says, "Flee, creature."
@Wyatt: DC 14 Will, or flee for one round.
In an eerily similar repetition, his companion casts what seems to be the same spell, pointing at Gailen. "Flee, foul one."

Prisim |
Prisim enters the room and throws the alchemists fire at the closest Syrinx.

"Oh yes, I am totally a jerk for attacking the Asmodeus-worshipping slavers. What was I thinking!?"
