On her turn, Gailen will run back exactly the way she came, which will bring her back inside the room, but that'll be her whole turn.

Overseer Announcement

Table GMs - The Sky Key Chamber [Area E2] is now CODE YELLOW
E2: Yellow
E3: Yellow

GM Crucible |

Fly: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
The remaining syrinx tumbles at Wyatt's arrow, and falls to the ground, breaking its wings and going unconscious.
Combat over
As you search the bodies of the fallen clerics, you find a potion of cure light wounds on each of them. four, total.
Moving the dancing lights closer to the center of the room, you find the body of Aram Zey, bloodied, and seeming quite dead.

![]() |

heal: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (14) - 2 = 12
perception: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (19) - 2 = 17
"Oh, wow he was terrible jerk but he didn't deserve this...."
It's almost like he was garroted by a half-orc assassin who made sure to cut out his tongue to make sure that speak with dead wouldn't work on him. ;)

![]() |

"I'd never met him. Apparently he was pretty scary. Especially for those of us who are... not book types."
How we going for HP at the moment. Does poly still need more? Prisim is only down 4 and she doesn't normally go toe to toe

![]() |

Heal: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
"Oh..." Evarice falls silent as she inspects the Master of Scrolls.
"I'm certain the Society will help restore him..." :(
Evarice makes a short prayer, hoping his death was relatively painless and that he is sleeping blissfully in the afterlife. Pinned under a green dragon, then bludgeoned with an enchanted morningstar counts as painless, right?
"The Chamber of the Sky Key remains. Let's stop the Aspis incursion."

GM Crucible |

Something else to do here ... I'd whisk you through it, but am short on time this morning ...

![]() |

Being wounded, Pau takes one of the four new CLW potions and drinks it down.
CLW 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
That means there are three potions ready to be claimed right now.

![]() |

Prisim looks around the room.
"So this is where we kept the sky key. Doesn't look that special..."
And the body doesn't look as if it were flurried to death by an irate green dragon...

![]() |

"Agreed. There's obviously nothing we can do for the Venture Captain anymore. Let's go stop whoever did this in the first place."

![]() |

Oh hey, I have K. Planes.
Knowledge(Planes): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Evarice studies the torn tapestry.
"If we can close it for now, we may be able to halt more intruders."

GM Crucible |

Evarice's significant knowledge of the planes, combined with Aram Zey's notes (which you recovered from the library) make shutting down the portal easier. After about 10 minutes of arcane rituals you're able to sever the connection between the tapestry's pocket dimensions and the prime plane.
As it happens, the casters are able to determine that while there *is* some melee damage, most of his injuries seem to be arcane in nature: a slay living spell and many (many!) small burns, as if from magic missiles.
Clearly, his throat was cut at some point with a small dagger, too.

GM Crucible |

You spend a good bit of time closing the portal, but it seems to have paid off. There is less fighting in the corridors as you hurry to the Chamber of the Sky Key.
This tall library is ringed by a walkway around its perimeter, which provides access to a second level of towering bookshelves. A broad Qadiran rug leads to a short pedestal within a tall glass case that itself sits within an inscribed circle—all cordoned off by a velvet rope suspended by brass poles. Several plush chairs and a few low tables bearing curios line the lower floor, and two decorative suits of armor stand at attention, each with a crossbow resting against its shoulder. Heatless torches blaze with remarkably even light in sconces throughout the room, and a tall pendulum clock against the eastern wall ticks each passing second as its hands move erratically.
There is a pool of blood in the carpet, and bloody drag marks heading out the door you enter from. Perhaps Aram Zey was slain here.
A ghostly image of a Pathfinder appears in the center of the room, where his likeness eerily begins to slide through the display case. His voice echoes as he speaks to an unseen party. ”Oh no, they’ve stolen the Sky Key. It also appears they disrupted the auxiliary stabilizer, too.” He pauses before continuing. “Do you feel that? I feel kind of sick all of a sudden. I hope they didn’t try to disassemble it—or worse, bring it too close to the tapestry. Wasn’t that why Zey kept them so far—”
The figure’s words go unfinished as he begins to scream and dissolve, fading from view in a matter of seconds.
Creatures who are suddenly transported here are likely to be less affected by the dimensional energy vortex.
Please arrange yourselves in the first two squares inside the door. (At least two will still be outside the room.)

GM Crucible |

Y'all still need to assign the last 3 CLW potions, too.

![]() |

Wyatt looks around the room with obvious interest.
Knowledge(Planes): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23.
"The warp in the fabric of reality here likely destroyed the unfortunate investigators who were first to discover the missing Sky Key. This dimensional tremor has started to wane, but it periodically shunts otherworldly creatures to this room."
Happy to hold onto one of the potions.

![]() |

Evarice will hold one of the potions of cure light wounds.
Knowledge(Planes): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Evarice stays in the back, bow at the ready. "This must have been where Aram Zey died...let's see if we can secure the Sky Key."

![]() |

Prisim, having been effective at healing with a potion last time will take the third.
"I'm not that good in a fight anyway" she admits. She does take the time to load her crossbow though.
I stuck Poly in the front, as I guess that is where she would want to be.

![]() |

Oh yeah.

GM Crucible |

And still one more CLW to allocate, I think. (Pau, I'm declaring you have it unless someone tells me otherwise soon.)
As the previous (and unfortunate) adventurers fade in and out, they are eventually replaced with crude oozing humanoid things. You can't tell whether these are the same people or not, but there is certainly no sense of humanity left.

GM Crucible |

Gailen's self-pity aside, her strike hits (these have a low AC) and lays low the last of these creatures.
Out of combat.
That's 3 for 3. (Nothing left in Act III for you.) Get your healing on and buffs ready. The next act is a beast.

![]() |

Prisim has a look around the room and at the creatures.
"I wonder what they were... and whether they have families back where they came from."
She quickly checks around for magical auras as well and then plonks herself down on a comfy chair.
"Or maybe we should wait somewhere the fabric of reality is a little stronger..."
When does act 4 start? We must have totally aced these combats.

![]() |

We're breezing right through these. the Tier 3-5 one didn't go as quickly...
Evarice stows her glaive and retrieves her bow. "This blood trail...it must be from Aram Zey. We've lost many today, and all for what? Pointless."

![]() |

I'm playing in standard in a 5-6 and we don't have a fighter type. Lots of mixed casters and my dwarven bard is the closest we have to a tank. He goes down in almost every encounter. Of course there are only five in that group and two of them are 4th level. Dicey.

![]() |

Pau pulls out his wand of Mage Armor. "Could one of you reapply this for me? I've got a feeling, more defensive magic might come in really handy. If one of you wants a charge, feel free."

![]() |

Evarice chooses to drink the given potion.
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
"I suppose I could have endured more injuries before drinking this, but..." she feels her neck. "Not worth risking."

![]() |

Gailen breathes heavily in and out a few times. "They were abominations. Leave it at that, and think nothing else of it, my friend Prisim."

![]() |

Prisim flails around with the wand for a moment or two.
"Shining Paladinic guardian"
"Shield of blazing Glory"
"Holy mail of no holes"
Eventually it works and Pau is again coated in mystical armor.
"Ooh that looks fun, can I try too?"
And assuming Pau is good with it, Prisim will tap herself
"Incandescent mystical nightshirt of invulnerability"

While it should be 'Prism', the real name was taken. So I've been tossing up between having her name 'Prism' and the handle 'Prisim', or just going for the name being wrong and having everyone think I am ignorant, but at least getting not having reporting worries. For the moment I'm learning toward her parents not knowing how to spell Prism properly - which giver her slightly erratic nature would not be an unreasonable background.
