"Well, I-I guess we should go in huh?'
Prisim

Prisim onds.
"I've never been in here before. Oh those poor caretakers."
She advances to their bodies to see if there is anything that can be done for them. A look of hard determination crosses her face.
"They crossed the line. Animating statues and letting loose lions, even taking prisoners... unpleasant but not too bad. Killing these poor folk..."
She seems almost in tears.
"Lets go in and kick some Aspis butt."
Pau

Pau doesn't need th group to lay out any elaborate plans. He would see them brought to justice for slaying the innocents here.

Evarice shakes the Syrinx's hand, keeping it limp when she realizes the woman has no idea what she's doing. "Well met, and safe journeys."
After the leave, she smiles. "Truth be told, I would have given it to them no matter the price. I cannot put a price tag on someone's life."
---
At the masoleum, Evarice dashes towards the two caretakers, checking for any signs of life.
Heal: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
If they are alive, Evarice will channel healing energy into them. "Stay strong..."
Evarice frowns afterwards. "In all of my days as a warrior, I never understood the cause of war. What justifies killing unarmed civilians?" She shakes her head.
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Evarice keeps her bow ready as they enter the masoleum.

Sharien charges inside, ready to swing first and ask questions later in this instance.

Heal or Perception. Or, aid Evarice's roll.
Looks like Pau's Perception roll is sufficient.
Pau notices the faintest hint of a pulse in the caretakers. They are clearly on death's door, and will be dead soon.
If you wish to move on, I need to know which set of doors you will take. The double doors on the right appear to be barred from the other side.
Gailen Windbreak
|
If Pau mentions that the caretakers are on death's door, Gailen will stop her advance, pull out her single scroll of cure light wounds, and cast it on one of them.

Seelah of Katapesh
|
The thunder of hooves nearby captures your attention as Seelah of Katapesh, Paladin of Iomedae, rides by. A host of Pathfinders in her wake spread out in every direction combing the area for enemies, Pathfinders in need, and the wounded.
Seelah draws up her steed, pulling it around to face you.
She says "Blessings and well met, Pathfinders! You look as if you are heading into more trouble."
She tosses you lot a whistle, like the ones you've seen soldiers on the field of battle use to direct troops.
She then says "If you are ever in need of aid, blow the whistle and Pathfinders within earshot will come to your assistance."
With waiting for a response she turns her horse about and thunders back off into the fray without waiting for a response.
Evarice Bue

As Gailen pulls out her wand, Evarice holds her wand at bay. She raises her symbol and channels healing energy.
"Conserve your wand, for now."

Apollyanna stops bandaging the stricken woman's foot once her obvious head wound begins to seal thanks to Evarice's pouring of good vibes into the air.
Prisim

"Well, if those doors are barred, I guess we will have to try the others first..."
She then looks at the big strong paladins and cleric.
"Or maybe you could open it. Too big for me. Actually to be honest, even when they are not barred, many of these doors are too heavy for me."
Evarice Bue
|
"Let us go left, first. Hopefully the right doors are still reinforced and they don't need our help."
Pau
|
Pau nods at the others healing the caretakers. Once they were back on their feet, he followed Evarice's idea and moved to check the left doors first.

Evarice channels (+6), and the two caretakers look better, but still don't regain consciousness.
Gailen uses her scroll on one (+6).
The female caretaker's eyes open slightly. "Martin, my husband,..." she says weakly. "Is he... ?" Her voice trails off as she looks to the man to her left. "Can you save him?"
| GM Crucible |
We have an aid token! See my post in the discussion thread for some details. ... It's actually a bit more complicated than that, because the effectiveness of the token depends on how well the "room" (all of the "Siege" tables together) is doing at clearing things out (right now, only passably well).
We have ONE aid token for the table. Anyone at the table can use it.
Please don't hoard it. After it's used, we can pass it to another table for them to use.
Gailen Windbreak

Gailen helps the woman stand. "I regret that I have no more healing available for your husband, but one of my allies likely does. Do you feel alright? Do you need food or water?"

The additional healing is enough to bring Martin, the other caretaker around. His wife weeps openly at your generosity.
Martin is a bit more pragmatic, as if having his life saved is the least important of the tasks in front of you. "They may still be inside. We only saw two but there are probably more. They didn't say what they wanted, they just attacked."
"Be careful."

The doors fail to give up their secrets (if they ever had any).
The doors open up into a gruesome but necessary part of the Mausoleum. Local Pathfinders conduct autopsies in this room. It is equipped with steel tables, lab equipment (medical and alchemical), and barrels of wash water. The light here is dim from the windows along the wall facing the courtyard.

Prisim follows Pau in I moved Pau in on the map, she keen eyes easily seeing in the dim light.

| GM Crucible |
You can look around the several closets and curtained areas here searching for anything interesting (noisy and takes a long time) or continue advancing as a group through the building to find the Aspis agents (noisy but direct), or attempt either of those actions stealthily (which makes them slower).
These may not be the only options, but they seem the most obvious.
Pau

Pau is fine heading straight ahead. If the others want to follow his bravado approach more stealthily behind him, that's good with me, too.

A dull hum emanates from Skyreach as the ground trembles, trees sway, and glass shatters. A moment later, most of Skyreach’s northwest tower tears free from the keep; however, rather than crash to the ground, a visible aura holds the structure aloft and causes it to float above the Grand Lodge. Even the shower of stone blocks floats, swirling around the airborne tower in a nimbus of speeding debris.
Prisim

"What was that?" says Prisim dashing to a window.
"Oh my goodnesss. The tower is floating! Could that me the skykey activated?"
She hurries after the brash Pau.

Evarice Bue

Evarice's ears prick up as she hears the rumble. "Intriguing. But, let's keep our eyes open for Aspis agents. Time is of the essence, and..." she glances at Apollyanna "Aren't very stealthy."

Well, everyone said they wanted to go ... no one said *where* they wanted to go. So I picked some place, and moved you.

Evarice doesn't see anything of particular note. No evidence of where the Aspis invaders went or what they might be searching for.
I need someone to propose a single-file marching order, please. Two votes, and I'll accept it.
Pau

Marching order looks great.
Pau leads the other through an orderly march, searching throughout the building. Lets look through A,b, and then c. Shouldn't take long to walk through the areas.

'A' was the courtyard where you found the caretakers. 'B' was the autopsy room. 'C' has the beetles.
Following Evarice's suggestion, you check the room to the north. 'D'
This dreary chamber is kept magically cold to safely preserve bodies from decay. The doors are covered with gray flagstones. The walls are lined with stone cubicles with iron doors and bronze nameplates. The room is dark, as only a minute amount of light enters from three tiny windows near the ceiling.
After a brief inspection, you find nothing out of place and return to the workshop. 'C'
You try the next door on the northern wall. 'E'
This room is used as a crematorium and for Pathfinder researchers to safely rid themselves of necromantic specimens upon completion of their experiments, although the incinerators have not been lit today. (It seems everyone had the day off, except the caretakers.) A single hooded lantern has been left on the floor and is still lit.
There is an exit at the far end of the incinerator room.
How do you proceed?
Prisim
|
"Lead on Pau" whispers Prisim, somewhat awed by the death-themed surroundings.
She checks over her shoulder, just to make sure there are no skeletons creeping up on them.
Pau
|
Pau nods and proceeds down the incerator room, heading toward the exit on the other end. At least the lantern is providing some light.
