You have no line of sight but the gun fighting continues to your left and there is a booby trapped corpse in the middle of the intersection you have to deal with or find another way around. Test book trap and way to force you to go down 1 corridor to face them from 90m distance or try to go were the heavy stubber is and possibly the leftover of those you fought are.
Athenee Moran |
"Cover me Zora!"
Gauging the situation up ahead with another glance around the corner, Athenee dashes forward as her friend aims threateningly down the corridor ahead. Strangely from the flow of the fight, Trooper Moran finds herself some ways ahead of the point and keeps low as she approaches the booby trapped body and begins trying to defuse the trap.
Tech-Use to Defuse vs 47: 1d100 ⇒ 61
Where they go is up to the Sarge, making sure they're free to go there falls to one of the tech-adept among them. Without Gregori, that probably means it's her job.
Uh oh.
Alex Kaminsky |
If possible, Alex will toss the bodies around kinetically away from the group. If not able to do it at Fettered level, 1d100 + 1d100 + 1d100 ⇒ (67) + (18) + (78) = 163 Not adding, just making three rolls. No Phenomena.
"On it, Sarge. Bit hard to outrun Moran, though!" Alex shifts forward, and starts tossing the bodies around to the corridor's walls.

She won't die, but she will be KO'd
Athenee make a Very Hard (-20) Toughness Test
Moran is enveloped instantaneously by a blue cloud that sounds like a small thunder. You can see some crackling of electricity and a strong smell of ozone. Moran is nowhere to be seen.
You do hear however some shots begin to fill in the corridor, apparently it's a bigger group or what remained from the ones who attacked joined with others. The heavy stubber continues to pin your command group as no one dare to come out and be cut to shreds, they have already lost 5 men and are now pinned.
Explosions are heard at the distance and close by.
Athenee Moran |
Toughness vs 13: 1d100 ⇒ 18
Closer than I expected actually.
One moment Athenee is carefully detaching the triggers from the charge beneath the pale body blocking the intersection, the next the world turns blue and her body flips backwards into a wall. The stunned form of Trooper Moran slides down the wall to form a limp pile on the floor, smoking slightly. Fortunately it didn't strike her hard enough to break bone, but it's safe to say she's going to be sore when she wakes up and won't be leading the way down the side passage to get behind the enemy any time soon.
On the other hand, the intersection is open. Maybe the Eyes of the Emperor were upon her?
Deiros |
A soldier like no other with some strange hood and dark leather gloves, dressed in fancy garments and adorned armor. He carries a small autogun and a big stub-like pistol.
"Emperor Protects? The Greater Good?" says with a grim deep voice that sounds abnormal do to the mask he is wearing.
"I think not! Submit to the Trifold Path invaders!" a green tracer-like round is fired another guardsmen falls. "Kill! For Telum! For Freedom! Die Scum!"
The enemies pull out comat knives and what looks to be stub automatic weapons and... surely they jest? They have begun to charge your positions gun blazing with the zeal you would find in some redemptionist of the Ministorum.
Major "Submit to the Emperor's Will, or die!" the Major begins to fire back at the Telumen warriors welcoming the melee as shots are being exchanged by both sides.
1 turn to fire and get shot, then you are more than likely in melee combat. Distance 60m
Athenee Moran |
Zora dashes forward to Liam's side, takes Moran's other shoulder and helps him tow her back behind the metal crate. There she covers him, her las gun flashing out fire as she tries to keep the enemy back long enough for a grenade - and for her friend to recover enough to defend herself.
By the looks of her Athenee isn't quite there yet; propped against the wall, her eyes are wide and staring while smoke-stains spread over her cheek to occlude much of her face. She seems to be largely unaware of the situation, including the fiery rhetoric from the Teluman champion or the impending charge.
Liam McGregor |
Liam eyeballs the closest enemy coming, takes careful aim, and with a curt command to Carno, they both release a volley of shots towards him.
Free action for Ranged volley order, half action for aim and half action for semi auto burst.
Semi auto burst (Bs:40 + 10 for aim, +5 for volley): 1d100 ⇒ 39
Two degrees of success, thanks to Lasgun barrage talent, that becomes three degrees, thus scoring two hits.
First hit, left leg, second hit body
#1 Damage: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
#2 Damage: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Deiros |
As your shots are fired through the blue mist that still holds in place, you see the impacts of laser, and screams of some soldiers falling while others seem like they took a much lesser hit then it actually was as if they just shrugged of the shots. They return fire to cover their advance attempting to keeping you pinned down, now that they know where your las shot come from.
Alex Kaminsky |
Alex waits for someone to come closer, then launches a barrel his way.
Assail, PR, VS 71: 1d100 ⇒ 23 4 degrees of success
Damage, torso, pen 2: 1d10 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Distance: 1d5 ⇒ 1
The running man is hit by the barrel as he runs, making a spectacular backflip and landing on the ground.
"Keep the scenery coming! I'll let 'em have it!", he shouts, seeing the lasfire being even less effective than usual.
Come closer, you bastards...
Athenee Moran |
Athenee coughs twice harshly and squeezes shut her eyes; when she re-opens them they seem to be starting to focus better and she makes out the looming shapes of the Telum advance. Without wasting time standing, she scoops up her las carbine and fires a semi-automatic burst at the closest of them before he can strike at her - or her squadmates. Two streaks of light sear through the foggy shadows at the Teluman looking directly over her, illuminating her tight smile. "Come down to my level, if you dare!"
BS 35+30: 1d100 ⇒ 38 - 2 additional degrees of success mean two hits to target, in its right leg (which makes sense given where she's shooting from).
Target's right leg: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
(Same) target's right leg: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

It seems like our comrades have a slight dislike of the sergeant. That, or they are the most cowardly bunch to hit the Imperial Guard.
Alex shoots for the closest Telumen.
Single Shot, Short Range = 37.5m, VS 52: 1d100 ⇒ 48
Damage, Pen 2: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Alex lands a shot to one of the soldiers, who doesn't seem to be caring all that much.
He mutters, "Drusus' balls...", and draws his staff. Or knife, if the staff isn't with his regimental gear. I assume it would be, though.
As he's taking out the staff, he makes an intimidating swipe in front of one of the Telumen going in his direction, waving his fingers to have him come forward.
Camael the red |
Camael will try to get another blast from his shotgun off before closing to melee.
BS41, point blank +30, single shot +10
1d100 ⇒ 12 3 extra hits
1d10 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 131d10 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 131d10 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 61d10 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Camael lets out a warcry as his shotgun blast slams into one of the enemy.
Liam McGregor |
Liam eyeballs another enemy, and together with Carno, he attempts to unleash another volley of energy death.
Attack (BS 40, +10 Aim, +10 Range, +5 volley): 1d100 ⇒ 84
However, they make the mistake of aiming high, so the shots go over the head of the advancing enemy.
Athenee Moran |
Even with the searing rain of lasfire the hard angry core of the Telumen charge is still bearing down on them, and Athenee has been schooled better than to allow herself to be caught out that way. Drill Sergeant Briggs would have had a field day if she'd chanced that - and he hadn't been left behind on Mordion. Dropping her carbine to hang loosely from her torso, she drew her longknife and pistol and laid down a pair of searing shots at the foe who comes closest to her, fastes,

The Telum warriors laugh at Alex as one of him answers the challenge.
They see you shoot they make a combat roll to dodge your attack and avoid it entirely all 3 men. The first one just barely made it.
Athenee Moran catches the Telum soldiers after dodging Camael shot, causing some injury to make them, making them stop for a moment, as they are left behind as others charge by and over them like they are nothing.
As a men with a different hat stands and wielding a shortened and points to Sgt. Kelliber. A hat like the one you saw earlier in the floor, he is probably what passes for some sergeant in the Telum military with a shocking maul.

There is a tunnel that goes straight to Sgt. Kelliber as Telumen soldiers refuse to even come near him, while he is approached by his challeenger.

Dodge: 1d100 ⇒ 93
Alex fails to dodge completely, and is hit quite badly by the attacker.

He then tears out a loose railing and projects it straight to the guy's head.

He then takes aim to hit the man with his staff the moment he's done reeling backwards.
Athenee Moran |
Dodge WS attack vs 56: 1d100 ⇒ 49
Athenee is barely aware of Zora's close fight to her left; she was busy enough leaping back just past the raking blade of the tall pale man before her. This was the first alien she had ever seen, and she stared up at him in a mixture of fear and hatred.
But she had a knife too, and feinted a slash at his arm before firing off another short burst in semi-automatic mode, at point blank range. As the two of them move in melee her accuracy is nothing to write home about, but can he avoid both the shots, with her blade weaving and slicing toward him as well?

Alex, seeing his comrades surrounded by challenging foes, channels his inner wrath, turning the enemies' minds against themselves. Trying to get the Sergeant, the one in front of him and the one in front of Liam. Sergeant is charging the one in front of Liam, other two targeting the Sergeant. As the fury of the warp envelops him, he lets out a demonic scream, tearing the earbuds of everyone around him.
If the GM could roll my dodge roll, if one is needed, that'd be nice, rolling versus 18. Sorry for that, stressful couple of days/week at work, can only do a couple of posts per day, so I'm trying to do them pre-emptively.

Since no one seems to want to come near the shotgun, Camael will chamber another round and fire at the closest unengaged enemy.
