Here's the discussion page for Red Team. Go ahead and introduce each other.

The Exchange

Male

Morning, gents! From the looks of it, we're very martial-oriented. Glad we have some casters to go with us, though.

That said, I'll enjoy this in more ways than I can currently count coherently!

The Exchange

Elven Rogue Swashbuckler/6; HP 45/45; AC 23; T 17/FF 18 /CMD 20; Fort +3 /Ref +9 /Will +2; Init +6 ; Perc +11; Sense Motive +0

Hey all! Filios is a tall, well-muscled elf. He carries an elven curveblade, and he certainly appears to know how to use it. I look forward to getting things rolling.

Hello Red Team...

Fendahl, appears to be a half-elf with a hint of wild in his appearance, especially his silvery hair and sideburns. His leather armor has bits of wood and covered with markings from the far East.
Closeby, there is a cougar that follows Fendahl closely, watching for commands or an occasional treat from his companion.

Liberty's Edge

Ho there! Name's Degwyn, how goes?

Degwyn is a young man from Almas, capital city of Andoran. Nothing stands out as particularly special about the man, his long dark hair is pulled back in a pony tail, his happy young face is without scars. He seems like a curious young human come to Absalom in an attempt at fame and fortune.

He bears the resemblance of a stereotypical wall guard, wearing chainmail, a blue tabbard, a shortsword on his left hip and a glaive perched on his right shoulder. Despite the length of his weapon he handles it with very good awareness, minding doorways, overhangs and innocent bystanders.

Grand Lodge

Male Gnome Bard (archaelogist) 2

Welcome, welcome all! Keebler is a fairly average-looking gnome, but decked out like your stereotypical fortune hunter - include a coiled whip dangling from his leather belt. As you'll soon learn, he's constantly cheery and eager for knowledge.

The Exchange

Male

Right, guess I better do a better introduction to my character then!

Vors is a youth from Oppara, capital of Taldor, and looks far more human than elven through his heritage - his agility tends to give notice, though. Dark hair and bright-eyed, he seems far too arrogant for his own good.

He's very much the spit of the society he hails from, having learned their style of rondolero, and otherwise wears the gear of a man who is surely not in poverty. If noticed, his falcata has a symbol of his family engraved into the base of the blade, while the hilt has a slight curve to it.

So! That's all of us, then?

Unless Corel makes a post today, I'll see if Gristav still wants in. Either way 5 or 6 should be fine. Feel free and start in the Gameplay thread, I won't have you all enter the Tapestry until I get a definite answer either way on the 6th spot.

Male Demigawd Nerd 5, Dungeon Master 6, RPGA GM 2, PFS GM 1

All right, I haven't head from Corel, so I'll offer the last spot to Gristav. If it wasn't clear, Jory is blue team just to confirm.

Liberty's Edge

Male Half-elf Magus (Staff Magus, Hexcrafter)

Gristav reporting for duty. Some paperwork to do, but glad to be aboard.

Male Demigawd Nerd 5, Dungeon Master 6, RPGA GM 2, PFS GM 1

I put a link to the map in the short description, so should be able to link to it from any page.

I am not seeing the link. Where is it exactly?

Male Demigawd Nerd 5, Dungeon Master 6, RPGA GM 2, PFS GM 1

At the top you'll see the campaign title

Underneath that, but above the campaign tabs, is a link called The Temple of Empyreal Enlightenment. That's the link

I looked for our diplomat... We ain't got one.

Hope Keebler's got a canned pitch. :)

We just need to find out why she is here and if she has seen our quarry. No real need for diplomacy on this one, but you are correct Gristav. We really have no diplomat.

Liberty's Edge

Male Half-elf Magus (Staff Magus, Hexcrafter)

Are we intended to be updating ourselves on the map?
ONLY ourselves, yes? (unless requested as before)

I'm worried we're going to bore our party of swordsmen. :)

And I'm itching to find out what I'm missing under those perception spoilers.

Liberty's Edge

Sorry for slow posts, I'll be back in posting mode later this evening.

Male Demigawd Nerd 5, Dungeon Master 6, RPGA GM 2, PFS GM 1

When it comes down to it, if people don't mind others moving them on the map, it's fine. It's mostly during combats that it becomes an issue.

As far as exploring goes, if people wish to go off by themselves and explore on their own, it's fine.

GM Screen (feel free to peak on this one):
:)

This adventure is very sandboxy. It really is up to you all to drive it. If someone doesn't want to eat dinner and would rather explore while others do, then please do so. Also remember this is a holiday weekend (at least in America), so a few people might not be available (the other team is missing at least two already for it).

The Exchange

Male

Oh, so you mean, if you want to split the party, we're welcome to do so?

I really didn't think there was a sandboxy PFS scenario. I'm far too used to 3.5's Living Greyhawk to know any better, so, it's good to see some variety.

Also, while we don't have a diplomat, if we can just ease our way through social situations, we might be okay. It's when combat starts that we're going to get hectic, I wager.

Yeah, it's also DragonCon weekend, so there's even more people missing.

Liberty's Edge

Male Half-elf Magus (Staff Magus, Hexcrafter)

Well, I'm around this weekend, on and off, no grand plans until Sunday PM. Who's willing to wingman? Nothing raises my paranoia like a GM saying, "it's fine to go off and explore by yourself". :)

Male Demigawd Nerd 5, Dungeon Master 6, RPGA GM 2, PFS GM 1

Let me rephrase abit. This is sandboxy for a PFS scenario. You have tasks to be accomplished (given early on). It's up to you on how to go about and solve them.

As far as the social situations go, don't get me wrong it sucks not to have one. But it's not like you need diplomancy checks to say hello to people. Good role-play goes a long way. Diplomacy is mostly necessary if you a) need to change someone's attitude; or b) convince someone to do something.

The Exchange

Male

Oh, I apologize if my humor was misconstrued. I should probably add small faces and hints of it.

I don't mind duoing out to explore. Between the two of us, we should be able to handle most trouble, if any.

The Exchange

Elven Rogue Swashbuckler/6; HP 45/45; AC 23; T 17/FF 18 /CMD 20; Fort +3 /Ref +9 /Will +2; Init +6 ; Perc +11; Sense Motive +0

I am certainly game for joining you.

The Exchange

Male

Sorry for my absence. There was a lot of nonsense involving people being foolish and trying to avoid replacing my laptop. Posting soon.

Liberty's Edge

Male Half-elf Magus (Staff Magus, Hexcrafter)

Keebler, LOL. :)

The Exchange

I unfortunately have to step out of this. My time is not what it was as I got a new job, and it's going to cut into every bit of it more than it already. I apologize for the inconvenience, and wish you all the best.

Just a reminder that Vors did indeed step out of the game.

Liberty's Edge

Male Half-elf Magus (Staff Magus, Hexcrafter)

Will the Vors character still be a resource in the scenario, or is he retconned as not having ever been there?

Male Demigawd Nerd 5, Dungeon Master 6, RPGA GM 2, PFS GM 1

For now, consider him not to be here.

Liberty's Edge

Male Half-elf Magus (Staff Magus, Hexcrafter)

Tell me about it, Keebler! I was totally about to send this...

(Gris begins, 'we wouldn't want to disturb you...')

But as we have, and as there are still pending questions, I regret that, I have to ask them. Before I attend your service myself. If you'd prefer... no, I'm sure you'll want them asked and answered now, in front of the congregants." Gristav tilts his head to just barely deny a glimpse of Dakang's eyes beneath the brim of his hat, then nods as though in agreement.

"I'll be brief. The font is dry, the garden overgrown, the food, 'provided'. Was it always thus? The statues are not on display, boards over the doors. Texts in the library have been altered, or lost, in a pattern that suggests a sinister influence. When did this happen? The gardener plays at poisonous carnival games with the digits of the disciples, and when pressed, declares you... at best, a Koradan apostate, and his accomplice, and at worst... well, that's the real question. That will need to be answered before I sit to your service."

... but everybody's waiting for the next shoe to drop. Or lotus, not to drop? So I didn't.

Seriously, what? When did we hear about lotuses? And what's up with the stitching, that's got you itching? Following your lead, here; tell me you've got a compass. Or a pathfinder? :)

If it's too meta to ask, just don't answer. I'll be fine. Maybe dead, but still, you know, fine.

I'm having a blast. Thanks, Xzaral, and all.

Liberty's Edge

I agree, this party is a great deal of fun.

Gristav, I'm really enjoying your dialog.

Thanks to Xzaral and everyone else.

Liberty's Edge

Male Half-elf Magus (Staff Magus, Hexcrafter)

Great to hear you're enjoying Gris. Very good to hear it.

I like how everybody (at least when I read them) comes across as having their eyes shifting back and forth. Like the extreme close ups on a pack of gunfighters, as the music builds...

Yes, truly enjoying things. The group is solid, and I cannot wait to see how well we kick ass! The Lotuses are only known of because of Filios, they are not part of the plotline for the group, just his individual interest.

Gristavs alternate dialog would have been interesting to see. Either way I think we will see the shoes drop or fly soon enough. Enjoying the great personalities from all. I rarely get the treat of rich character development at a f2f table.

A couple questions ... Not sure if to post here or in gameplay....How high up is the bottom of the balcony and does it block line of sight or provide cover? Is it more of a railing with posts/spindles or a solid half wall?

Male Demigawd Nerd 5, Dungeon Master 6, RPGA GM 2, PFS GM 1

The ceiling of the chapel is 30' up, the balcony itself is 15' up. There is a small raised section and a podium which would grant Dakang cover from attacks below.

Grand Lodge

Male Gnome Bard (archaelogist) 2

Just a heads up, folks - I'm organizing the PFS games at our local convention this weekend, so may not get to post as frequently as I need/want. If I don't, I haven't gone anywhere, just getting buried in last minute preparations and should return to normal early next week. (If anyone is going to be in the New York Capital Region this weekend, you should come check out the Council of Five Nations gaming convention!)

Male Demigawd Nerd 5, Dungeon Master 6, RPGA GM 2, PFS GM 1

Added a Balor token to the garden. Enjoy :P
