As I said, blame HL for that, not me. I'm keeping full text in spoiler tags, as otherwise it makes looking at Lucas's profile from mobile a Wall-O-Text misadventure. As I said, I'll gladly remove the short descriptions if they're not helpful. I'll look over Gameplay and provide whatever I might be missing later today, as soon as work stops actuvely burning.

Both Atsadi and Lucas have actions for the round posted after the crew jumped into the water already.

Round 13

Splashing into the water - in something certain to be remembered by everyone else later - Atsadi had no trouble at all pinpointing those who'd dived in... or the other sharks that were closing in. Adding one of his targets to his collective was a simple matter from there, given their shock at the transformation. All three of them were on the far side of the boat, clearly aiming to use it as total cover from ranged attacks coming from the ship.

Meanwhile, things were still going on at other points of the ship... but your group did have orders about what to do...

Round 13
Combat Status
HP: 10/24 +1 temp hp
Channel Energy: 4/6
Sphere Points: 2/5
Power Points: 0/5
Bound Nexus: 3/4
Psionic Focus: Expended
Expended Maneuvers: Guard's Oath, Strength of Hell, Terrifying Blow
Stance: Black Seraph's Glare
Misc: +1 morale bonus to attacks and saves for 3 rounds

Recovering Spilled Salt from adding someone to my collective last turn, also now gaining +1 attack/saves for 3 rounds from that.

Atsadi swims.

The scarred shark eyes the other sharks in the water How many are there? but, like them, his focus is on the escaping sailors.

The shark moves beneath the three pairs of kicking legs and its black eyes emit a black aura that moves over his form. Its maw opens and rows upon rows of hungry teeth try to clamp down on the officer's leg.

[ooc; Swift action to use Strength of Hell (+2 profane attack, +1d6 damage). Using Terrifying Blow.[/ooc]
Terrifying Blow: 1d20 + 2 + 1 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 2 + 1 + 5 = 17 for Bite damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 and Profane: 1d6 ⇒ 1. Additionally, if the target survives he must make a DC 14 Will save or be Frightened for 1 round.

On top of all of that, Black Seraph's Glare gives a free action intimidate: Intimidate: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19 to demoralize/shaken the officer.

If an opponent attacks him, Atsadi will use Spilled Salt on first attack (-4 to the attack roll)

With no one in sight to shoot, Lucas stands by with his bow, trying to cover both Atsadi in the water and Ambrose heading to the wheel.

Got no targets, so I guess I'm delaying...

Personally, I'd suggest reading an attack when you're not sure what to do. XD Delaying's hard in PbP.

Round 14

With no enemies nearby to bother him, Ambrose found it easy enough to secure the wheel, even as Lucas tried to give cover as Atsadi eyed four or five other sharks - some of who were busy eating something you probably didn't want to think too much about - and ripped into the Officer's leg. A cloud of blood immediately started to fill the water, even as the frightened man scrambled into the boat. His companions followed him - not moving far enough to render themselves vulnerable - and immediately set about trying to paddle away. Of course, two were needed to make any real progress, and the Officer was currently unable to help...

Normally I would've, yeah, but I didn't think covering two directions at once with a Ready action was gonna fly. As to the guys down in the water, are you saying that, from my vantage point above them, they're rowing (or trying to) and still have cover from me?

Realizing the danger on deck is at an ebb for now, without looking to his comrade, Lucas calls out, "Ambrose, holler if you need me," and focuses his attention on the men trying to escape.

In that case, Ready an action, fire my bow if anybody down by the attempting-to-escape boat presents a target.

Shortbow attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

They are all in the boat. You CAN attempt to bull rush and tip it, though you'll need a pretty good roll - it's meant to be stable and has two people actively controlling it, after all.

Indeed. Rednal, soon as one of these jokers opens himself to a shot I'll open fire (roll is above).

Round 15

Lucas managed to land an arrow in one of the soldiers, earning a yelp of pain, but it hadn't quite hit hard enough to down the man, and both of the conscious ones continued rowing frantically to get away from your vessels. That also brought them out of easy shortbow range - some ninety feet from the vessel, and quite unable to retaliate against you.

Human (Arcadian) Zealot(Void Prophet) 2|| Soul Weaver 2 | HP: 10+1/24 | AC: 13(+1 Dex, +2 Natural) / T: 11 / FF: 12 | Fort: +5, Ref: +1, Will: +2 | M. Atk: +5, R. Atk: +3, M. Touch: +5, R. Touch: +3 | CMB: +5, CMD: 16 | Init: +5, Perception: +4

The time it took me to get off one arrow, they're 90 feet out? What's powering this boat, the Red October's Caterpillar drive? :)

Cursing, Lucas fires again at the fellow manning the oars, hoping he gets off a lucky shot.

Using a round of my Luck ability. Swift action to start that, standard to shoot again.
Shortbow attack: 1d20 + 6 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 6 - 2 + 1 = 15
Arrow damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 piercing
Thunderbolt Stance: 1d6 ⇒ 4 electricity

Don't forget that you're on ships that are still moving under wind power. They're literally traveling away from the little lifeboat, so it doesn't take much to build some distance.

Lucas' arrow fell into the water and sank beneath the waves - probably to end up as a curiosity in a mermaid's collection or something, if it was shiny enough on the way down - as Atsadi returned to the ship and rather discreetly returned to human form as he climbed up. As he did so, the fog shrouding the ships dissipated, and you could see the aftermath of the raid. Your crew had clearly been successful, and Rahadoumi prisoners were being pushed into a line on the deck.

Wow, the forums are wonky this AM.

Snarling in anger, Lucas switches to Phantom Storm Stance and fires another arrow at the fleeing boat. Maybe you'll get lucky, but not much point in wasting an actual arrow at this range.

Switching stances as my Swift, attacking as a Standard. This stance basically is make-quasi-real-ammo. Any chance the guy rowing doesn't get his Dex to AC? :)

Shortbow Attack: 1d20 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (12) + 6 - 2 = 16
Arrow Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6 piercing

When Atsadi gets to the top of his climb, Lucas offers a hand to help pull him over. "Impressive stuff," he says, smiling in admiration at his companion's abilities. "Just when I thought it was safe to go back in the water."

Haggard and bloodied, Atsadi hauls himself up, a sour look on his face. He walks by Lucas and claps him on the back. "Thanks for showin' up when you did, Fishface. You probably kept my neck intact!" It'll never be forgotten.

Atsadi goes around to the sailors they downed and checks pulses, seeing if any are still alive.

Yeah, they were. I wonder what was up with that.

Alas, the arrow was well out of a shortbow's normal range, and with distance continuing to grow, accuracy was terrible. As for the sailors you'd downed, about half of them looked like they weren't going to be waking up again... and you looked up from checking them in time to see the throats of their fellows being slit by your crewmates... and they were clearly expecting you to finish the job on your end as well.

Human (Arcadian) Zealot(Void Prophet) 2|| Soul Weaver 2 | HP: 10+1/24 | AC: 13(+1 Dex, +2 Natural) / T: 11 / FF: 12 | Fort: +5, Ref: +1, Will: +2 | M. Atk: +5, R. Atk: +3, M. Touch: +5, R. Touch: +3 | CMB: +5, CMD: 16 | Init: +5, Perception: +4

Atsadi clucks his tongue. Unarmed sailors are no challenge. He won't cut any throats but also won't bother bandaging any wounds. Whom the pirate queen chooses to take is her business after a raid.

He is mostly looking for coins or anything valuable. Knowing how a pirate ship works, he won't take it for himself but will add it to the booty to be shared amongst the crew.

"Not that I wanna share a berth with any more guys," Lucas says as he stows his bow and uses his tail to draw his dagger and bring it to his hand, "But no one is gettin' a chance to change allegiances, I take it?"

Going by the scene below, probably not.

Atsadi might not do it himself, but he won't stop Lucas from it. "I don't kill those who are already down. No point. Rather just loot them and sell them or let 'em go. Let the Pirate Queen decide their fate. But if you choose to do it.."

He shrugs. "That must be da Pirate Queen deciding, yeah?" He grins and his teeth fill in with shark-like fangs.

Lucas nods his head in agreement with Atsadi. "I'm right there with ya. Where I come from, usually once the fightin' ends the blood stops flowin' right quick. Guys don't fight quite so hard if they know they can lose and still see tomorrow."

He pauses before one of the sailors, knife in his hands. "If the Queen has an issue with this, I'll answer for it when I'm called to the deck of the Seawraith."

...Sounds like you've made a decision, then? XD

Blood flowed into the water down below as throats were cleanly slit, and you saw a couple of distinct fins. It didn't take long for the work of plundering the vessel to begin, and as evening fell, the party aboard the Wormwood began - fueled in no small part by the fine food and drink your group had stolen. The party wasn't going to end very soon, either...

Specifically, it won't be winding down for a good 36 hours, although people will be sleeping at various points. XD You can make up to 5 ship actions of your choice, or simply enjoy things.

Incidentally, each of you receives 275 GP as plunder, and your group receives two potions of cure moderate wounds and an amulet of natural armor +1. The Captain was not impressed with the lifeboat that got away, but did note being called out to by Atsadi when someone was going after him.

Well I'm not impressed that he's only got one freaking crewman using a bow, so we're even. :P Just curious, what's the name of this ship we've captured? Did I miss that somewhere?

EDIT: I'll probably take a couple of actions, I just want to think it over. Atsadi, any suggestions?

Atsadi's all about the Diplomacy and convincing people to be his friend..easier to kill the captain that way.

Atsadi will spend the entire party listening, bragging and generally being friendly with various members of the crew. I know we skipped/glossed over a bunch of ship actions to speed things up to the fun stuff, so Atsadi will spend these 5 actions trying to befriend people who weren't befriended during that period starting with those who seem easiest to convince. He'll work his way one by one through individuals until they count as Helpful.

None of them, hostile/unfriendly is too hard a DC to really make. I'd like to think Rednal will be kind to us and randomly pick a few individuals who we already made Friendly/Helpful during the glossed over part. I'd like to get anyone who is on Neutral terms to friendly first and then start working on those who are unfriendly.

The ship you captured was called the Man's Promise. Incidentally, I don't recommend Work Diligently checks, 'cuz no work is happening as everyone parties. Unless, y'know, you really want to. XD

Atsadi did well with Lucas' support, but it was Ambrose that was probably the best at buttering up a few members of the crew over the course of the next day and a half or so...

At dawn after the party had come to a close, though, the ship's bell sounded and called all crew to the deck. It wasn't long before some captured Rahadoumi - probably those who'd been deeper in the Man's Promise, rather than the common sailors executed up top that you'd seen before - were paraded onto the deck. Captain Harrigan addressed the captives first, offering a place on the Wormwood’s crew for any who want to throw their lot in with pirates. Several of the Rahadoumi sailors stepoed forward; Master Scourge cut their bonds, and the sailors took their places among the Wormwood’s crew.

"All right, you scurvy tars! You’ve done a right good job by me — we’ve got a second ship now, and she’s quite a prize from the looks of her. But I still have only one crew. So here’s the plan — the Wormwood will sail on to our planned destination with our new shipmates here, while Mr. Plugg will pick a skeleton crew to sail the Man’s Promise to Port Peril, where she’ll be worth a pretty penny as salvage."

"As for these fine fellows here" Harrigan gestured at the remainder of the captured ship’s crew, "Some of them will no doubt be worth a hefty ransom from their families back in Azir. And for the rest, if the life of a pirate’s not for them, they can spend the rest of their lives at sea!" To make his point, he grabbed one of the captured sailors and, with a heave, hurled her overboard to laughter from some of your companions as she sank beneath the waves. Many of the rest of the captives wasted no time at all stammering vows of loyalty.

The officers were lead belowdecks, and the crew started to disperse to their tasks - but only under the supervision of Mr. Plugg and Master Scourge, who smirked as they pointed at you. "You three. Grab your things and be on the Man's Promise in ten minutes." Master Scourge ordered.

Lucas maintains an impassive reaction to the one sailor getting thrown overboard. He gets why Captain Harrigan did it, showing crews like these you mean business sometimes requires a little spilled blood. But still, he can't help but feel something, even if it's barely more than, "Better you than me."

When Scourge ordered them to report to the Man's Promise, Lucas didn't care for the look in Scourge's eye. Him bein' happy is never a good sign. Still, he replies with an "Aye, sir," and goes below deck to get his things together.

I forgot to mention, during the post-capture revelry...

Lucas will take a moment, and drop about 15gp worth of his share over the rails into the ocean. Tribute to Besmara. Not hiding I'm doing it, but not making a show of it, either.

After capturing the Man's Promise, Ambrose finds himself unexpectedly relieved. It seems that some part of him had been more worried about dying than he expected, and for a moment, life, whatever it had meant only hours before, was a happy surprise. At the party, he finds himself more amenable to making merry with his fellow conscripts and mingles among the crew.

After the party, things quickly return to their normal sort of nightmarishness. Ambrose sets his jaw as Harrigan grabs the sailor and throws her overboard. Atsadi is a fool for giving that warning. But not long after, Mister Plugg somehow manages to degrade the situation further.

As they gather their things, Ambrose gives the other two pointed looks. Be on your guard.

Did Ambrose ever recover his familiar?

Atsadi scowls a bit as Harrigan parades the captured sailors out. "What, couldn't be bothered to take the ones we left alive.."

The scowl only deepens as the pirate watches their captain hurl someone overboard. "Damn waste to make a point. Don't like that one much," he grumbles to Lucas and Ambrose.

Scourge's orders draw a sneer from Atsadi and a mock salute before he quietly returns to the hammocks to grab his few belongings. Just his clothing and his weapons, at this point.

He'll follow after Ambrose, looking disgruntled and fingering the edge of a knife. "Besmara better give a good opportunity 'ere before long."

As you gathered your things, Cut-Throat Grok moved over, openly crying a bit at the way you were heading off - and she passed over a sleeve holster that would be useful for concealing certain kinds of weapons as a gift. A small creature darted from inside the holster to Ambrose's sleeves as she did so, taking shelter there.

The skeleton crew of the Man’s Promise includes Mr. Plugg, Master Scourge, Owlbear Hartshorn, and all of the surviving members of the Wormwood’s original crew of sailors, as well as you three, Ambrose Kroop (whom the captain is clearly glad to be rid of), Conchobhar Shortstone, Rosie Cusswell, and Sandara Quinn. There are also another eight or so sailors who are still rather hostile towards you.

The Man’s Promise is a three-masted sailing ship, 105 feet long and 30 feet wide. The ship had been thoroughly ransacked of all but rather basic supplies, and as the two ships separated, Mr. Plugg - the acting captain - and Master Scourge gathered you together.

"All right, you lazy fools. We don't have a lot of spare people, so don't expect to be coddled like you were on the Wormwood. Crimes and problems are now punishable by the cat, even if they're small. Your jobs aren't changing. For what you're doing today..." he went down the line, barking out orders until he got to you.

"Ambrose, you're going to go hunting for turtles and get us some food." DC 10 Profession (Fisherman) or Survival. DC 8 Constitution to avoid fatigue.

"Atsadi, you're to man the bilges." DC 12 Strength check. DC 12 Constitution Check to avoid becoming fatigued.

"Lucas, make sure the mainsail on this thing is in good order." DC 10 Profession (Sailor) or Strength, and DC 12 Constitution vs Fatigue.

...Yes, he's working all of you harder, hence the extra fatigue checks.

Lucas climbs up into the rigging of the Man's Promise and does his best to get things in order...

...but she seems to have suffered a lot of damage in the fight, and though he tries like hell, Lucas just knows there's no way he'll have things fixed up before that $%^*^()&^ Plugg's whippin' hand starts getting itchy.

Hell of a time to roll a 3. :-\

With a groan, Atsadi glances at the hostile group of sailors. 'Well this 'ought to be a ton of fun."

He wrinkles his nose and sighs, turning toward the bilges, cursing Plugg the entire way. Strength: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15

Yeah, I know how you're feeling :/

"She did," Ambrose grumbles to Atsadi.

After a day and a half of carousing, Ambrose simply doesn't have the energy for the task demanded of him. Hunting turtles was no easy task, and his failure is debilitating. In desperation, he flavors each dish with a simple spell, hoping that a pleasing flavor might detract enough from the absence of meat to spare him the lash.

Don't forget that you can make Daytime Ship Actions when you're doing these things - Work Diligently might make the difference.
