I did not! I will put it there now, thanks. Feel free to dot in on gameplay as you arrive.

I just saw the link on the spreadsheet, so checking in.
I don't think I will have access to the rules until the 17th? I think when they will release the PDF to be available for everyone to buy...so no clue what I'll play at this point...but I think Operative..or maybe a Soldier if huge guns are a starting option
GM Turmoil |
Checking in. I have no idea whatsoever what my character will be. I haven't had a ton of time lately to read up on the Starfinder posts. Do you know if there will be pregens available right away? That may be my route of choice until I can read through and digest the whole book.
GM Fuzzfoot |
I don't, and actually I am in the same boat. I do have the scenario now and am looking through it, but there are a lot of rules I don't know about yet.
I know one of the scenarios I am playing in is Pre-gen only, so maybe those are reusable. But I haven't seen them yet.
RePete |
If needed, I have all the pregens. They can be found here.
For myself, the 'mechanic' class caught my eye first... Hoping I'll be able to get a character created before we start, though with all that I have going on this next week...I may have difficulty there.
Any thoughts on what the rest of you are looking to play first?
GM Fuzzfoot |
The core rulebook is out, so I am starting to read through it. Feel free to discuss anything you like here, especially if there are questions, etc.
I am also not too opposed to characters showing up a little late. We are set to start on the 25th, but if you have a concept in mind, you can start with in character discussion and still be fleshing out details over the weekend.
I did look over the pregens, though, and it is perfectly fine to use them as well.
GM Fuzzfoot |
Sounds good - that's a few crew!
Feel free to discuss rules, character choices, etc. here.
Daph-9 |
Working on polishing up the format and finalizing the details, but here's my (RePete) rough draft.
Android Mechanic (Outlaw) - Focuses on hacking tech and fighting at range.
Still need to read through the computers and starship sections. Feel free to make suggestions.

I think Im going with a Yoski Operative(Ace Pilot), unless we have not frontline then I have a Vask Solider(Merc) backup made. Still finishing both.
Im inbetween ghost spec and hacker.. I was leaning towards a Rocket type build and can't decide which is better for him. I think hacker fits better flavor wise but ghost seems much more powerful overall. Thoughts?
GM Fuzzfoot |
I just made a Solarian front-liner/face for a game I am playing, and have same concerns. AC is like 12/13... But I think the new system of HP and Stamina might balance it out a bit. We'll see....
RePete |
I went Vesk for my solarian's race. Figure I'll focus on using his racial attack (at least to start). AC is 15/16 iirc... but have 10 SP and 13 HP so being a wall of health might help?
Looking at the attunement stuff and the DR skill available at second level raised a question for confirmation... If I was 'unbalanced' towards graviton with the DR deal...would that mean I could get up to DR 4 before complete attunment? Or am I misunderstanding how that works?
Also...when is paizo going to add Starfinder races for the profile pics?
GM Fuzzfoot |
You can be unbalanced by 1 without penalty. So technically, you can't be unbalanced by level 2. I think Level 4 is the first time you could be. But this only applies to stellar revelation selection. So, if at level 2 you chose Dark Matter as your revelation, you would now have 2 dark and 1 light revelations. At level 4, you should pick a light revelation to balance, but you aren't forbidden from picking another dark one.
Attunement is what you do in combat. So your first turn, you pick which mode you want to attune to: Graviton or Photon. You are then 1 point attuned. So, if you have Dark Matter, you immediately gain DR 1/ (assuming you use a move action to get it started). The next round, if you stay Graviton, you now will have 2 pt, but your DR doesn't change. Finally, on the third round of combat, if you stay Graviton, then you now have 3 pt and are fully attuned. For Dark Matter, this now means you have DR X/ where X = 1/2 your solarian level. Now at level 2, or even 3, this won't matter - you are still DR 1/, but at level 4, then you will now be DR 1/ until fully attuned, and then DR 2/ thereafter.
The thing that concerns me about solarians is that they seem most potent in extended combats. In PFS, I rarely see an encounter go more than 3 rounds, so I am curious to see how these play out. Although, it will be a while before I see it, because it will be level 5 or so before things really get cooking.

(Karma here)
I'm toying with classes I was initially least interested in playing. Here's a mystic... I think he's otherwise fine, a bit limited with ranged combat options.
And not very good in any starship combat role... I wonder how common starships will be in SFS scenarios.
GM Turmoil's pregen |
Sheet updated and ready to go. I've had such a crazy hectic week, that I've not had much time to dig into the CRB yet. This will sort of be a learn-as-I-play experience. If I'm doing something stupid, let me know!
GM Fuzzfoot |
I believe we are all in the same boat. I think we are all likely to make some mistakes. I have been playing in a game for about a week now, and we are discovering all sorts of rules that are different in SF than PF - far more than I expected. So I expect we will all have many course corrections - and we'll just make the best of it! As long as everyone has fun, the rest we can muddle through...
GM Fuzzfoot |
If you receive the implant, you should note it on your sheet. (I am not really sure why...)
Also, in case anyone missed it, there is a special boon you can get to apply to your first character (it has to be -701), but could save you from a quick death.
And thank you, Luke, for posting your Info for reporting. If everyone else can do the same, I would appreciate it.

The Scoured Stars incident is referred to everywhere, but is explained anywhere what exactly happened? Or would we perhaps learn about during the scenario?
GM Fuzzfoot |
I think that is the big mystery, maybe in general or maybe just season 1. I think, for now, it is meant to be a backdrop for all of the scenarios.

Well, based on what has been published:
Basically, there was this area of weird/dangerous space, that no-one really went to. Someone in the Society claimed to have found something that needed to be investigated, so the majority of the Society formed a massive caravan to go explore... when they did so, *something* was triggered, and there is now a barrier cutting that area of space off from the rest of the universe. No-one knows what, precisely, has happened to all of the Society members beyond it.

I am going to be out the next couple of days. This part I know pretty well, so keep going - I might be able to chime in a few times. Otherwise, I will be back in full on Sunday.

Is anyone planning on using their character for a session 2 game (starting Oct 6)?
