"That sounds terrible for me." Niamh mumbles but also takes a seat before packing out an apple pie and putting it onto the table.
Jimmy takes a seat as well. Not saying anything
"Come sit besides me. I'll protect you from the horrors to come." Tauriell offers.
Niamh grins and changes the seat. "Thank you."
"Are we going on now? I mean with the talking..."
Gwenhwyfar gets up and says "If you want food, eat your own or the pie Niamh offers. I'm not starting to cook here."
"And Gemeena has some valid points she wants to discuss with us. Would you please?" she asks looking at her.
"Thanks Gwen." Jimmy says, giving her a smile. Turning to Niamh and Tauriell, "By your own admission we are starting to find some seriously dangerous things down here. These shadow mastiffs for example. And yet you keep running off, and treating this like it is all some kind of game." Jimmy says coming across meaner than intended, "If you had been trapped in the room with those things, you would most likely be dead. And trapping you in that room is definitely within the realm of this place. It killed me before we knew what happened, and it was capable of making Gwen strip naked."
Jimmy pauses for a moment before continuing, "We were all so far behind you, that if something bad had happened, we wouldn't have been able to do anything about it. If those mastiffs had chased you from that room, I would probably be dead right now, and then they would have caught you, and killed you, and then caught and killed everyone else here. We need to start taking this seriously. We are underground, surrounded by things that want nothing else than to see us dead, and it is time we started acting like it."
Tauriell takes a piece of pie and bites off chunk. "I really like this pie. But if I feed solely on that I'll become fat in no time." she whispers to Niamh.
"I second that." Tauriell replies to Mrs. Fiddle.
"I think I have a déjà vu. Didn't we have that talk once, or was it twice already?" Abomentolor asks.
"So you mean everyone should cast invisibility on his or herself before going into a room? And then tell what is in there?" Niamh asks.
"Indeed we have Abomentolor, but it never seems to stick." Jimmy says, "Nothing quite that extreme Niamh, perhaps just treat every door as if there is something behind it that can, and want's to kill you."
"We already look for traps and so on. And it's difficult to open a door stealthily if it swings open when you touch it." Niamh counters.
"I don't think that's what she means." Tauriell replies with a grin on her face. "But your approach doesn't work either. If I leave my happy place of ignorance and seriously assume that, I wont open a single door in this dungeon. Are you suggesting to go home?" she asks with a smile.
"How do you suggest we go home? Going back the way we came in is going to be incredibly difficult. But no. I am not suggesting we go home, I just suggest a lot more caution than we are currently using."
"So, if I may ask, what do you have in mind?" Niamh asks Jimmy.
"I would burn everything for you. But that only brings you so far. My fire is limited. I still haven't reached fiery omnipotence." Abomentolor fabulates.
"How about you don't run around leaving us behind you and barge into secret rooms so far ahead of us that you could be dead before we got to you?" Jimmy asks sarcastically
"Look... I know it gets boring doing things my way, just please make sure that there is always someone close enough to you that they can help in an emergency. That should go for everyone."
Niamh's face falls down. "Ey. I'm always quite careful. See? I wasn't eaten by the spawns of lust. And Tauriell was right behind me as I teleported into that room."
"Except she didn't follow you, and you didn't even know where you were going to end up, or if you could make it back here. And what did you find anyway?" Jimmy asks, "I am not trying to crap on anyone, I just want us all to get home safe, and I worry that if we continue the way we have been, that wont happen."
"I found these women with many teeth, these lustspawns." Niamh replies. "But allright. I agree to try to motivate you some more to stay close to me."
"I agree that the distance between her and the rest of the party got unhealthy lately. But her volunteering to go in first and take the explosions instead of all of us standing in them I found rather nice. Is there a way to combine the good from both approaches?" Tauriell asks.
"If she goes in first she is standing in the way if there is something to burn." Abomentolor throws in.
"I did never stand in your way." Niamh protests.
"There is nothing wrong with her going ahead, just not quite as far ahead as she has been."
"Look, if that makes everyone happier I'll stay close to you, okay? Can we finish this discussion now?" Niamh tries to end the discussion.
"If we all agree on that part to take Niamh on a leash then we would still need to talk about where to go to next. That's easier while all are here together." Tauriell explains slowly.
Niamh looks quite indignant. "I don't want to be on a leash!" she protests and moves her chair a bit away from Tauriell.
"It's only an imaginary leash that hinders you to run to far away from us." Tauriell replies with a smile.
Niamh smiles back sarcastically.
"What are these Lustspawn. Do they burn?" Abomentolor asks. "And how many of them are there?"
"I saw four of them. And if I remember that right, yes, they burn." Niamh answers.
"Then lets go there!" Abomentolor states but doesn't jump up yet. "Who goes first?"
Niamh looks at Jimmy and then looks down onto the table staying on her seat.
"You yourself said you were running out of spells. How is everyone doing spell wise?"
"I think we had enough excitement for today. Maybe we should take the time to do a barbecue at the beach." Tauriell suggests.
"I would personally "like to make sure we are relatively secure on this level first, make sure we don't get attacked in the middle of our barbecue."
"We could search for a way back to the beds." Niamh suggests.
"If it's beds you want, you could take the ones here too." Tauriell replies showing the doors to the neighbouring bedrooms. And with a sigh she adds "I guess you want these shadow mastiffs dead?"
"I at least want to make sure that we can sleep without worrying about them tearing our throats out."
"You mean we have to close one more door?" Tauriell asks hopefully.
"I want to burn them!" Abomentolor states.
"I guess that's wishful thinking." Niamh says to Tauriell with a look at Jimmy.
"They seem to be content with staying where they are. That might change if we attack them." Gwenhwyfar voices her thoughts.
"You tell me, how long would a door keep those things at bay?"
"If they want out they probably wouldn't need to destroy the door. Nothing has locks here and everything opens on touch. The only question is if they are willing to come out or not."
"And if you don't like such bets if your life is at stake you simply have to wager if your risk is smaller when you kill these things. But as you're probably the one standing in the door and keeping them in until Abomentolor has burnt them it's your decision."
"Gwen, How much healing do you have left? Enough to keep me standing for a while? I can keep myself up a while as well."
"I still have this stick of cure serious wounds." Tauriell intermits. "If they are not dead by the time this is empty you're dead anyway."
"Abomentolor, are you ready to burn things?" Jimmy says grabbing his ranseur and preparing to head out
"I still have most of my magic left for today. I only used my hex on Niamh and the Dispel Magic on Gnaeus I think."
"But what will happen if they howl again and everyone flees in panic?" Gwenhwyfar replies.
"I will keep myself standing until you can get back, and we can have Niamh assist us in advance, I am sure she has something to help with fear." Jimmy says thinking
"Yep. I have to play my violin for that. Encouraging songs are always helpful in a fight." Niamh replies settling back onto the backrest of her chair.
