"That's an interesting name." Niamh says.
"But look here. There is another text... which is also in Abyssal and I can't read it." Tauriell states frustrated.
"If we can't read it it isn't from Sorshen and it isn't important. We could search for secret doors."
Niamh starts to touch the wand casting detect magic while she walks along the wall.
The area got obviously desecrated in the name of the goddess this shrine is devoted to.
Besides that only a few items on top of the altar shine with a magic aura. The objects that sit atop the altar consist of a golden cup with ancient bloodstains within, a magic dagger made of an unusual metal with a curved blade also crusty with long-dried blood, an incense burner bearing a minor magical enhancement that allows it to constantly emit cinnamon-scented smoke, a narrow bronze incense case containing 2 doses of incense , a silver scroll tube containing a scroll , and an unholy symbol a seven-pointed crown wrapped with thorny vines made of onyx and pearl.
"I think the things on top of the altar there could be interesting for us." Niamh says and points at them.
Looking over the stuff Tauriell replies "Still no magic elven curved blade."
She casts detect magic and tries to find out what these items are.
"That is quite nice." Tauriell says to herself and puts the dagger into her belt. "Can you use a scroll of heal? she asks Gwenhwyfar. And to all she asks "No one of us uses divine magic, right?"
"Technically I am a divine caster." Jimmy says with a shrug
"If you have a lot of time you can do your spell preparing while burning these. It would improve your spells like if you maximise them." she explains handing the incense to Jimmy. "But with your few spells you're probably better off if you sell it to one of the large temples in Magnimar."
"Probably." Jimmy says taking the incense, "Thank you"
Gwenhwyfar takes the scroll "I should be able to do so." She tries to read the content.
"That is too complicated. I need to prepare read magic tomorrow."
"Everyone happy now and ready to go?" Niamh asks.
"Sure. What are we going to do with these Lustspawns you talked of?" Tauriell asks.
"That's easy. We cast invisible on us and tiptoe to the stairs or the door and going on then." Niamh suggests.
"Haha. Wasting five spells to sneak past an enemy that will probably come after us then? Not going to happen."
"I meant if we want to talk to them before burning or are we choosing a different approach in killing them because of some resistances or such you know about?" Tauriell clarifies.
"Oh no. Not fire resistance. Do you want to ruin my day already?" Abomentolor whines.
"They are immune to mind-affecting effects. But not to fire. If you teleport yourself into the room they will immediately try to hurt you. But on the right side is the other teleporter and if I remember right the doors are straight away and the stairs are to the right side too." Niamh explains, giving as an exception informations on her own.
"And in what order are we going in there? Runelord Sorshen first?" Tauriell asks.
"I'm the last one." Niamh provides. "Jimmy is a good idea. Lets go, Jimmy."
As Jimmy doesn't move Niamh rolls her eyes taking Jimmy's hand and drags her to the teleport room onto the middle golden plate. "Don't move." she says and gives the nearest statue her hand.
Abomentolor casts mage armor an himself with the wand and then hurries to stand on the golden plate. "I'm next!" he proclaims.
Niamh gives the statue her hand again. She smiles as Abomentolor disappears. "Who's next?"
Tauriell takes her bow from her shoulder and knocks n arrow "You're next." she says to Gwenhwyfar.
This magnificent marble chamber is richly appointed. Its domed ceiling is frescoed with an image of a starry night sky, while a thick rug of exquisite manufacture covers much of the floor. A stairway rises to a pair of double doors to the west, while a hallway leads away to the south. Large alcoves decorated with gold tiles extend to the north and east. Black marble benches carved to represent coiling serpents sit on the northeast and southeast walls.
This room is guarded by a group of lust sinspawn — hideous creatures with the torsos of voluptuous women but with arms, legs, and heads of nightmarish parodies of the human form. As Jimmy pops up in the room the four lust sinspawn turn around in surprise and as Abomentolor appears a moment later they attack.
"That could be a really nice sight. Do you have paper bags?" Abomentolor asks.
He readies a scorching ray to burn the first one to come to cinders.
"I never shaked, someone's hand so often." Niamh says thinking that Sorshen has nice capabilities to move while she waits for Gwenhwyfar and Tauriell.
The faster of the two sinspawn come charging at the gnome and the armored woman. The one running towards Abomentolor is heavily burnt and drops to the ground mid run.
Gwenhwyfar steps on the plate and squinches her eyes shut. "Please make it quick!" she prompts Niamh.
"You could be there already." Niamh says and gives the statue her hand.
Gwenhwyfar appears in the room and opens her eyes. She decides to hide at the back of the alcove behind Gemeena and Abomentolor. "Eeeeeh! That's gross."
"You're activating the plate for me?" Tauriell asks.
"Sure." Niamh says and 'shakes' again the statues hand.
Jimmy swing at the one as it charges towards him,
Jimmy slices at the Lustspawn to finish it off
and steps towards the remaining two
The remaining two charge Jimmy.
But to no avail.
Tauriell draws her bow taking aim in the direction she suspects the fight to be and steps on the plate.
As she appears in the room she shoots two arrows at the remaining sinspawn.
But the arrows go wide.
The first sinspawn runs directly into the ranseur leaving it staggered and after it's own attack it drops to the ground.
Niamh gives the statue the last time her hand and steps onto the glowing gold plate starting to play an encouraging song. She disappears and the plate stops glowing.
"You're too late for that. I already missed all my shots." Tauriell says as Niamh appears playing her violin.
The second sinspanwn manages to avoid the ranseur.
"And how should I know that you aren't able to strike without me?" Niamh defends getting the feeling everything she does on her own is wrong.
Abomentolor walks towards Jimmy and readies another scorching ray if Jimmy manages to not kill that thing and it would come after him.
Tauriell drops her bow and charges in with her blade
Jimmy gives the last one standing the rest.
Niamh stops the playing. "Where to now?"
"It is a shame. We ruined the carpet." Tauriell says as she wipes her blade. She walks back to pick up her bow.
"Yes. I don't think Sorshen thought about how difficult it would be to clean it." Niamh agrees.
