Klor Kragsson |
Klor looks about the room taking notice of the door labled for Authorized personel.
Shifting the weight of his axe to a better grip for a sudden swing he apporaches that door.
well now by da looks a dis place I be guessin' we are now "Authorized"
goes to see if he can open the door like normal folk or will he have to ues his "dwarven door opener"
Haundo |
Once everyone was inside he motioned for the rear rank to enter the HQ, once they were inside he motioned for the first rank and slowly backed up. Watching the quiet empty streets through his wolfheaded visor and sniffing the air as he tried to detect any unseen foes. Once the last Militia soldier was inside he followed and closed the main doors and slid the dead bolts back in place.
He raised his helm and looked to the closest second in command he had, Tom Goodfellow, he was a blacksmith and used to ordering around apprentices. The others respected him well enough and Haundo's orders would go over well with them, at least he hoped. "Your to hold this area as best you can. If you can't you leave and return to your families." He gives Tom a significant look as he hands him his loaded pistol. "I plan on coming back for this, now if your forced to leave use this on one of them. It's loaded and we will easily hear it."
He looked to the other nineteen members of the militia and looked at each of them. Despite knowing them only for a few days he trusted each to do as they were told, but in the madness of trying to retake ones home people sometimes forgot how dangerous it was to let emotion over take reason. "I know you heard what I said but I will repeat. No heroes today, no one dies, if we can't secure these weapons today. Then we will come back and try again, we can only do this as long as we are all in one piece. Understood?" He gave a toothy smile as they all nodded and some eyed the commons around them, some scared or unsure, others wary and ready. "Good Luck and Cayden be with you." He nodded to Tom and the others and turned from them picking up his Bulwark.
He moved from them, carrying his Bulwark heavily, leaving the militia behind was a hard decision for the watch hound and when he joined the others he nodded to De'ohge. "Those gloves are similar to my ability, although mine requires me to... Detach from my mortal shell, to see on the other side of doors. I can't completely pass through thought... That is handy. So we going in? I can lead or I can follow Klor." He says the last part with a toothy grin.
De'ohge |
De'ohge smiles at the praise, it has been a long time since I felt this way, it is nice to have others around, so long as I don't trust them with my own safety I won't... well enough wool gathering, "Thank's Shiny, I can only use them for a few minutes per day, so I would prefer to be sparing with their use."
Haundo |
Haundo nods and moves towards the door with the sign, checking to see if he can open it. He intended to lead the search, if there was something here he hoped it would come at him first, at least then they could get the drop on them.
Haundo |
Haundo holds his position, waiting for the others to give the word as those more skilled then him searched the place in ways Haundo could not. He gave a low growl at the darkness around them, he didn't trust this place. The hairs on the back of his neck stood on end, rough and ready as his adrenaline started pumping in preparation for a fight. It had been too easy to get here.
Paranoia was a major survival skill for Watchmen because the Fallen were sneaky...
De'ohge |
De'ohge quirks an eyebrow at Saxton hmm, he can obviously sense magical aura's, but lacks the ability to know what he sees, interesting...
De'ohge casts detect magic (which he will be doing pretty much constantly throughout the building).
Spellcraft 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (2) + 13 = 15
"Can ye pinpoint the origin of the spell effect?"
If magic/psionics is transparent then spellcraft works equally well to identify both flavors of magic. If they are not transparent, then psicraft becomes a relevant skill.
Saxton Quinn |
"it' seems to be coming from the whole room"
He looks over at the others
saxton has a feat he paid for with a hero point when we leveed just forgot to update sheet,, the soellcraft/psi skills do not crass over that's why he can feel them just not know what they are

The entire room has the aura, and I am using the transparency rules.
Klor Kragsson |
Klor has decided to check the other door while the magic types do their thing.
approaching the door and attempts to open it to see if it is locked.
he really doesn't wait for the wizards to finish their thing.
yes I know he may set off a trap but he hates waiting around.
besides he does not move fast enought to prevent anyone from stopping him anyway
Haundo |
Haundo does stop Klor, not quite trusting this place and approaches the door. "Let me pass through and see what lies on the other side, perhaps they locked in some fallen here within the HQ... Please watch my back, I won't be able to protect myself while I do this."
He approaches the door, sets his bulwark down against the wall and places his hands on the door frame and leans his forehead against it as he focuses. He paces his breathing, eyes closed, as he works to force his spirit to leave his shell temporarily. After about of minute of concentration he finds his yes are open once more as he moves through the door and looks on the otherside...
I can pass through them too. But only to peak on whats on the other side. :)
Uchendu Kybwa'ka |
Uchendu nearly chokes when Klor attempts to break through the door, despite the warning about the aura.
"Be careful! We do not know what it is..."
He nods to Haundo when he offers to peer beyond the door.
"That would be wise."
Whilst Haundo is 'preparing', Uchendu uncomfortably jigs from foot to foot, nervous about what might happen...
Klor Kragsson |
Klor places himself between Haundo and the door so as to protect him of anything that may come out. Axe at the ready.
Right...Is there any one ere dat Ain't a magic chucker? he ask of the group in general.
anyways, not ta worry I got ya covered General
Klor refers to Haundo as general since he has been leading the milita
Klor Kragsson |
Nahh no prob;em jus little tough ta find some common topics ta talk bout. when we ain't killin zombie dat is.
Klor doesn't hate wizards, he just never had lots of trust in them, he was always the in your face matrial weapon kind of guy and could never figure out wizards and such
Saxton Quinn |
Saxton gains a fine shimmer round his body then gos to Klor and puts his arm around him, his Psicrytal talks
"You know what Klor, don't tell the others but I am not really a Mage, Magic is as strange to me as it is to you, I barely have a clue how it works as well, just know it when I spot it, and don't get me started in god-magic, I never trust any thing from soul slavers, So no need to feel alone"
Andreas Merona |
"I am sure we can find something to talk, I used to read a lot and know about many things."
Andreas feels a bit intimidated by the full casters in the party and is trying to figure out his roll in the group. He is not taking any offense at what Klor said or implied.

Haundo you see a big table with a chairs around it, and some chalk boards. It looks like a war room.
Haundo |
He looked back and forth memorizing the room before pulling himself back out of the door frame and settling back into his body. It took a long moment for him to settle back inot his mortal shell, for those who couldn't see spirits it looked like Haundo was shivering. Yet somehow he had heard Klor's words and frowned.
"General, ha. I am merely soldier, leading people to retake their home. Cayden gifted me with the ability to leave my mortal shell, I know not why but it has proven useful in many a raid. It is a slow ability though... Leaves me open." He gestures to the door with his free hand as he picks up his Bulwark. "A war room lies beyond, I didn't see anything moving, be ready."
If the door isn't locked, Haundo will push open the door and if he has time he will pull out his battleaxe.
Watcher Uatu |
Haundo tries to open the door, which is locked, and all of you get to make a DC 15 will save.
Saxton Quinn |
Saxton being a mind mega knows by Instinct when mind interference is in play, for a moment he see something, but then push's his mind past it.
He uses a power Internal armor (+4AC dos not stack)
He go's to see whats in such and odd room at the door he looks
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11 perception
Haundo |
Will Save 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Haundo stepped into the room and found himself facing something larger then himself and covered in heavier armor. Before he time to bring his bulwark to bare he was struck Hard by the creatures metal arm. It had nearly floored him in one blow, yet he tried to push forward and soon found himself nearly beaten to death by a construct far stronger and more well defended then himself. As it forced him from the Warroom Haundo stood looking confused and angered.
His ability had never failed, he hadn't seen anything and yet their were set upon by a construct of some sort. "I swear to the gods I saw nothing, where did it come from? No sound and yet it was there..."
Can we still see saxton? And what other doors are available?
Klor Kragsson |
Klor looks at some of the otehr a bit confused.
Lokk one of Us is goin crazy. an I know it ain't me. since I'm still standin ere. If there was sometin in there big an nasty then I still be in there fightin it ta me dyin breath. Since I still be standin then either I won or it ain't real
He thinks a moment
room must be safe either way then. See... didn't need no detect magic ta figure dat out He states confidently in his assessment of the situation.
De'ohge |
De'ohge looks indignantly at Klor and Haundo, "well if either of you had deigned to enter that room with me, maybe I wouldn't have been tossed about like a sack of potatoes! Fortunately, as an enlightened wizard with the agility to acumen to readily seize a means of expeditious withdrawal I was able to escape with nothing more than a few bruises!"
Turning to Saxton, and poking him in the thigh with one finger "and don't give me that locked door, excuse either! Had you not wavered with the dorf and dog, my ego wouldn't be bruised!"
Standing up at his full three feet, and one inch, De'ohge taps one foot on the floor with his hands on his hips. "Well?! What have ye to say for yerself?"
Saxton Quinn |
Saxton looks at them,
::"none of you entered that room, no time has passed and just walked away from that locked door, if you where in a fight have you lost the spells you cast or the arrows you shot? Where are you cuts, where is the blood?"::
then puts both hands on the locked door and walks back a pit with his hands still on it so that his at a 45% angle.
::"I say this door is locked an was never opened, So now open your empty rooms door, if the door is not locked, you will open it and I will fall over, if it is locked then I will still be upright and pushing empty space. please go ahead"::
He looks at them.
Haundo |
Haundo growled momentarily at De'ohge, baring his teeth slightly at the insult that he stood there and did nothing. He had stood alone against the creature and had been pummeled as thought he were an anvil and that creature was a blacksmiths damned hammer. "Perhaps if you weren't so cowardly as to run from that room we would have beaten it but no, you left me to get my fangs knocked out..."
Saxtons words distracted him for a moment and as he looked back and forth between the others and the slight bickering that was going on he shook his head. Trying desperately to focus his thoughts but when Saxton spoke in his mind again he he shook his head more violently as if there was a bug stuck in his ear. "We did enter the room though. I will show you it is not locked..."
He reached past Saxton and tried the handle once more...
Dunno if this causes it to happen again or if Haundo is under some sort of aversion to touching that particular door.
Also I may have missed it but how many doors are there?
Klor Kragsson |
Yer all daft except Sax ere. Ya should know by now dat ifn there was a big monster in there Why in all da hells would I be standin' ere discussin' it there would only be two outcomes
Klor lays out the plausable outcomes in his mind
One I'd be dead..now as heartbreakin' as it be soundin' dat be the first possibility
and 'B' the moter thing would be dead.
he puases a moment
and seein' how, at least last I checked, I ain't meetin' me maker dat just leaves option 2 and 'D'
he stops again and counts a second to himself.
I mean 3 ... none of it really happin'
He stands firmly planted arms crossed daring anyone to question his logic.
De'ohge |
De'ohge looks up at Haundo, "What are you speaking of? I entered that room alone, neither you nor the dorf came in, for a moment I thought I had been betrayed, but then I was too busy fighting for my life." Waving a hand vaguely in Saxton's direction "He thinks I had time to be casting spells, I was too busy running around that giant orc made out of some silverish metal."
