Sister Azmaria |
Azmaria finished jotting some notes from the inscriptions and hurried to catch up.
Sorry, those rune are rather fascinating. anyway did you find something? she asks as she peers into the room after Azruk enters.
After Azruk takes a few step in, Azmaria asks, You guys made sure the floor was safe and there are no traps right?
Victarion Gauss |
And the dot disappeared! Yaaay for letting me miss things, Paizo! Even if it was only a few posts.
Victarion rolls down his sleeves and watches as the webs burn to ashes "Truly marvelous... indeed." he says as Azruk looks for traps "Do you see anything, my eagle-eyed friend? I'd rather not fall into a pool of acid... again."
Azruk-Hal |
Yeah. Bear traps. A lot of them. Try and avoid stepping there. And there. And there. And there too. Azruk points at the various placed traps.
Azruk-Hal |
Probably for the spiders. Azruk stands away from the traps, waiting to continue.
Couldn't you just zap those from the other end of the room? They're bear traps, not pressure plates.
GM_IamZero000 |
not just spider, smelly skunk lizard. like wet dark cave, tryand attack Kobolds for food and other things Kobolds good with traps, use to protect tribe. Traps more complicated than Big man think, if not disarmed correctly this trap make more traps works. Make alarms in village go off. Vroka answers.
Victarion, it takes a lot of time but the deed is eventually done
Azruk-Hal |
So, you have alarm-bear-traps? Useful. I tend to be a fan of the straight forward approach. Azruks eyes wander over to Vroka.
Hey, Vroka buddy. Wanna tell me why you didn't share about these traps sooner? Azruk flashes a wide smile while he waits for an answer.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Victarion Gauss |
Victarion claps his hands again and says "The danger has been removed! And we may even make a profit out of it if we take the traps and offer them to an appropiate vendor or particular interested." turning to Vroka he asks "What are those other traps that may set off if these ones aren't disarmed? And where to now?"
GM_IamZero000 |
Pits, logs or rocks. Sometimes big magic fires. Vroka answers running off to the northern wall, he begins cutting the webs with a knife revealing a tunnel forward. This tunnel, lead back, careful tunnel small. Tunnel on south wall as well covered by webs. That lead under lake
Artemis Storm Bringer |
Well normal I would say that is a good size tunnel but I could see how some may not agree. Artemis will say while measuring the tunnel and his companions with his eyes.
Azruk-Hal |
Eh, I should be fine. I've gotten used to feeling stuck. Every door frame is a battle when you're eight feet tall. If I can't use a sword, then I won't use a sword. Simple. Preparation is the domain of the victorious. Azruk readies himself to go in.
Sister Azmaria |
Azmaria was looking for more interesting carvings or murals but finding none joins the others.
sorry all, some of these carvings and such are very interesting.
just to be clear, how many tunnels are there? I am reading that there are two, one small tunnel that leads back (back to where?) and another that goes under the lake? in any event how many tunnels are there not incuding the way we came in.
So where do these tunnel(s) lead?
GM_IamZero000 |
Apologies i was not including the tunnel you all came through. there are three tunnels one to the north the one you are going through, one to the south leading under a nearby lake, and the one you came in through at the east. Will continue more tommorow sometime all
Azmaria you see many more carving, starting to be less about history and more about individuals, families, ect. some carved drawings that type of stuff.
This tunnel lead to other tunnels which lead to back of camp. Tunnel to south lead to under lake. Very dangerous tunnel. And further other tunnels lead else where under region.
Victarion Gauss |
"Well, well. A challenge worthy of your size, sir Azruk. Hahahaha!" he jokes at the mention of the small tunnel "What shall we do? I'd rather not fight in a place where my magic could prove detrimental and our main killing machine is deprived of his killing tool, but neither I would like to use a tunnel that travels under a lake. If Azruk says he can fight in tight spaces, then I will trust him."
Azruk-Hal |
Course, next question. If I'm in front, how are the rest of you planning to back me up? I'd like to know that instead of being shot in the back repeatedly. The sole melee fighter of the group asks.
Victarion Gauss |
"I can use my magic from afar with only a minimal chance of Scorching you. If that is a problem I can simply stay at bay and watch the show."
Azruk-Hal |
You, I'll trust with that. Azruk points to Artemis.
You just don't set me on fire and we'll be fine. Pointing to Vic.
You, gimme a guess of what we'll find in this tunnel. He finishes with Vroka.
Sister Azmaria |
not sure where she stands in regard to the others, Azmaria readies her pistol, I Have never injured a friend, at least not very seriously.
Azmaria will take position in the middle of the group unless others feel she be best in the rear.
Azruk-Hal |
Uh, front? I mean, I could stand in the back with my bow, but it would be like having a 6' tall robot sidekick, and using him to dispense cookies.
GM_IamZero000 |
To be fair that cookie dispenser is kicking our ass dude
The hall way is long and dimly lit you all walking down in formation. it begins to open up after some time but only slightly so. the familiar glowing moss begins giving way to large glowing violet Fungi. the disgusting smell of rot in the air, you notice dead humanoid sized Lizards underneath the glowing fungi. The fungi seems to be moving, though very slowly
What do you do
Victarion Gauss |
We identify it first, of course! Rolling Knowledge, got 'em all.
Knowledge: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28
Total of 28. 26 if Nature, and 27 if Religion because those two aren't maxed.
GM_IamZero000 |
You know it is a Violet fungus Colony, a dangerous fungi that feeds off rot, it favors rotting Reptilians more specifically Troglodytes. They can in fact move though very slowly and can attack with long poisonous Tentacles that can rot away flesh.
You also know the Venom can be Extracted and sold for a pretty penny. anywhere from 400 to 800 gp per vial. though it is difficult to preserve and will go bad within a day.
Victarion Gauss |
"What do we have here?... Violet Fungus, indeed it is! This kind of fungoid feeds off rot, favoring reptilians. But do not worry, my scaly friends." he says smiling at Vroka and Azruk "It prefers troglodytes. I'd be wary of it, though, as it may extend poisonous tendrils. It's curious, because its venom may rise up to quite an amount if you find an appropiate buyer, but it decays in less than a day."
Having finished the "class" Victarion asks "Should I cleanse it with magic?"
Azruk-Hal |
Stop trying to hog all the fun. Why do you think I bought this bow? Azruk produces his longbow. The curved wooden stick looks especially small in his hands.
Can't run up to everything and smash it. Actually, I haven't gotten to run up and smash anything yet.
Firing?: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23 -4 if Vroka is in the way.
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Artemis Storm Bringer |
Now we are talking.
Artemis takes a moment to charge his bow with electricity.
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 261d8 + 8 + 1d6 ⇒ (7) + 8 + (6) = 21
1/5 for the day
GM_IamZero000 |
initiative Artemis: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
initiative Vic: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
initiative Azmaria: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
initiative Azruk: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Ini: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (5) - 1 = 4
Combat order as follows
Vic
Azmaria
Artemis
Azruk
And then the Fungi
there are three main bodies of Fungi, you all go before them, Vroka is not included in the combat. Now that you guys are in a tunnel and it's essentially a straight shot there he is hiding out in the very back.
I'll take Artemis and Azruk's turn as there attacks just now.
Azruk and Artemis manage to drop one of the Fungi bodies through there combine efforts.
Sister Azmaria |
sorry been busy, worked 16 hour day yesterday and went to the mutter museum today catching up will post shortly
Sister Azmaria |
Azmaria took a position in the middle of the group. not being much for close combat.
Once they encounter the fungus stuff. Azmaria tries to cover her nose to keep out the smell. but it does not do very much.
suddenly she lets out a sneeze and at the same time her gun goes off and it happens to be pointed toward the next fungus within range. (preferably within 30' as I included point blank shot in the roll)
with a sudden and loud BANG coupled with a dainty sneeze the shot enters the fungus with a splat.
ranged touch: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Victarion Gauss |
Seeing that the group seems to have entered a firing range, Victarion draws his liquid crystal and putting his hand into a gun he says "Pew pew!"
Ray of Frost: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Damage: 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
GM_IamZero000 |
The various rays and shots all connect entering ht glowing fungus. out of the ground and stone surrounding you slips a mass of long tentacles, quickly untangling from eachother they lash out at Azruk and Artemis. Though viciously attacking The tentacles miss Azruk, whereas two strike Artemis rather hard
Artemis you take 8 points of damage and roll me a fortitude save against the poison
Azruk
attack 1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
attack 1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
attack 1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
attack 1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Artemis
attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Azruk-Hal |
Do I have room to step back next turn?
Agh! Awright! Azruk drops the bow, draws his greatsword, rages, and stabs at the fungus.
stab: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
Dam.: 2d6 + 12 ⇒ (5, 4) + 12 = 21
This still isn't satisfying! Why couldn't it be something that screams?
GM_IamZero000 |
Being as line up and packed together there is little room to step back. Artemis may i ask how your getting a plus 8 to your bow?your thunderstaff ability is a standard action to activate. i'm just trying to getting figured out. Also you failed the fort save you taking 3 strength damage and 1 con damage
All of your attacks hit downing the second fungus, leaving 1 left
poison: 2d4 ⇒ (3, 1) = 4
Artemis Storm Bringer |
I am so sorry guys I was being stupid. Damage is only +1 not +8 on both attacks. So sorry.
Hp 17 with the damage and str and con damage
Azruk-Hal |
Hey, it's not that big a deal. Everyone makes mistakes. GM: Do you wanna wait for Mr. Sobel to go before we post next round, or bot him?
