Phaendar is basically a ring, built around the open oval that is the Market Green. If you imagine the Market Green as circular (it isn't, really, but this is close enough) and straight up 12 o'clock is north, then the Inn is at 12:00 (with Jeb's house right next door), the bridge is at 1:00, Iteb's place is at 6:00, the Trading Company is at 6:30, Oreld's Shop is at 4:00 (with Bunko's house around the back), and the Riverwood Shrine is at 8:30.
And the big stone tower is right where the clock hands come together in the middle.
Jeb: 1d12 ⇒ 12
Bunko: 1d12 ⇒ 4

So basically, going home to check on Iteb's blacksmith is the furthest possible out of the way of getting to the bridge? That sounds really dangerous.
DM Shisumo |
The straight-line distance from the front door of the Taproot to Iteb's porch is just under 250 feet. Walking the entire loop around the Market Green is about 800 feet. The Gardaxe farm is directly north of the Inn, right against the riverbank, and Bunko's place is in a set of side streets that loop away to the southeast from the main road (which is called the Greensedge), but otherwise all the places you might want to visit face right out onto the Green.
DM Shisumo |
You get another 80 XP for that fight.
Loot:
Water keg (worth 3 Provision Points)
Additional foodstuffs worth another 5 Provision Points
longsword
longbow and 20 arrows
studded leather armor
light steel shield
Also, you now have followers! While they are accompanying you, on the second or later round of any combat, you can make a Diplomacy or Intimidate check, DC 12, as a free action to get an Aid Another bonus to your AC or your next attack, to have someone hand you something, to have someone make a First Aid attempt, or to have someone drag a fallen ally away from a battle. With a DC 17 check they will make an attack for you, but even the warrior is likely to go down fast if someone actually attacks them.
Currently you have four followers: Jet (aristocrat 2), plus a warrior 1, aristocrat 1, and a commoner 1.

I have a feeling we will be babysitting these followers to prevent them from dying :) Interesting AP so far. I assume it's going to have something like the rebellion system from HR or something like KM or these lines. I love these things. So far I'm very happy I didn't spoil my fun by reading anything about II before this PbP. Plus, it's always awesome to play a hotheaded dwarf.
Iteb Ral-gri |
Bunko sort of took the longsword from previous list... turned it into a mwk one through trade.
I'll assume Iteb is carrying this stuff for now, until someone else does.

Well, you guys now have a whole bunch of random followers with you - carrying items is really something of a nonissue at this point.
We are using Medium progression, yes.
Aubrin has no need for the hobgoblin longsword she swapped with Bunko - she can barely stand upright, let alone fight - so it's still in the loot pile.
You might want to check in the Campaign Info tab.

It's there to be taken. Also, I'll let everyone else resolve the Tom locking himself inside. Iteb is going to assume it more as a waste of time but will contribute to a communal door-knock down effort if it means getting out of the inn faster.
Iteb Ral-gri |
Was there any more stops necessary besides the trading company/Iteb's place and (where did Bunko need to go for her stuff?)
Trying to determine the path we'd be taking on our way out. Considering Aubrin suggested we'd leave out the bridge path as well.

Well, Jeb might have something to say on the topic, given what's just occurred, but I have added a map of the town with major landmarks to the campaign header. For scale purposes, as I said before, the distance from the front of the Taproot Inn to the front door of Iteb's shop is almost exactly 250 feet.
Iteb Ral-gri |
Very convenient to have, thanks. Looks a lot different than i was imagining it; it helps having the visualization. After resolving the potential attack on the two Hobs at the Gardaxe farm, Still stands to question other stops we might have to make, whether to go in a full circle or straight to Bunko's place first. Might pick up more stragglers around the shrine for instance, or just focus on getting out of the town soon as we can.
Iteb Ral-gri |
The question was indeed directed to everyone else, just trying to get the thoughts of others on the matter.
I copied my character sheet from someone else too, for the skeleton to build on xD
Sounds like everyone is moving in so far, just need Lysander and Gareth's response.
Jeb Gardaxe |
Alignment? Eh, I'm thinking somewhere between CN and CG. He's on track to become a farmer like his parents, but he's actually pretty good at singing and playing the lute, for an amateur dwarf.
Iteb Ral-gri |
Thanks. Trying to keep a running tally of things. Sounds like our best best is to move as a group, or have the survivors hunker down somewhere while we try to round up others before leaving together? (not asking you Shisumo, since you assumed i was doing that before)

To be clear, i think mechanically it would make more sense to bring along the group because they're safer as NPCs following us. Mentally, it feels safer for them to hide separate from us than having a group of what... 11 people drawing attention? Half of them non-combatants?
Iteb Ral-gri |
I tend to look at discussion before development. Just saw "80 Xp" and was realized how things went. Neato

Until I get all the cleave feats (goblin, orc, giant, great cleave) it will be fairly tough. Nevertheless since it's the beginning of combat and I have no idea (plus being a small space), I let it for the GM to tell me (hence why I say "if possible" on my post). There are certain scenarios and APs where the situations are favorable and other not.
Iteb Ral-gri |
Ah sorry about that. I was taking into account the battle map we were provided this time around, and assuming that to be the layout. Didn't mean to sound snooty if i did.
Honestly, your blows are the type that i think we may be facing one less enemy each time we enter! :D
DM Shisumo |

Well, potions can be ID'd (potentially) with Perception checks too, don't forget.
Rhyna can attempt to ID your magic items with a total of +7 on the Spellcraft check (including an Aid Another from her fellow adept). She can basically only do so once a day, though, because adepts don't get unlimited uses of orisons, so if you have her try now anything you pick up later will have to wait until tomorrow for another try at IDing it.
