Hi, ive recently started to convert to PF from 5E, having become increasingly bored by the D&D adventures, reading up on the PF adventure paths they seem so much better, more varied with much more effort and thought put into them.
Im planning to start running Abomination Vaults for my group in 5E as they are only interested in that.
But, would like to get into PF more, are there any online games looking for players? I dont mind what platform, Im in UK time if that helps.

Welcome to Pathfinder!
You might get a response in this thread-- many online GM's are happy to run games for new players-- but your best bet is to lurk on the Recruitment page until you see a 2E game open up.
As it happens, there's an Organized Play event coming up called PbP Outpost. The good news is there will be a lot of games-- 1E, 2E, and SF-- looking for players in about three weeks; the bad news is there's likely to be fewer than normal until then. (Also those will be organized games, meaning you have to have a Pathfinder Society number to join one. If you're familiar with D&D Adventurer's League, it's the Pathfinder version.)
And if any GM's do respond in this thread, I'm a 1E veteran who's also new to 2E and also looking for a game. My IRL group may be switching to 2E soon and I'd like to get more familiar with it.

I'm running one PF2 game online, and as I get closer to retirement am considering another. I'll also keep you in mind as a replacement player as though this game seems pretty stable for now we've had a lot of turnover.
Lots of 5e or Pathfinder 1e characters trying out PF2e and struggling trying to shoehorn the reality of 2e into familiar boundaries. If you don't buy in to the style, they tend to get frustrated and give up. If you just stick it out, don't argue the rules, and embrace it the elegance of the system shines.
It puzzles me how many more Pathfinder 1 games are started on the boards than PF2e games.

I won't get into edition wars. I'll just say that the professionals at Paizo spent a lot of time and money designing a new system for some reason. :-) I started with white box D&D in 1975, and have played 1st, 3rd, 3.5, PF 1 and many others and to me PF2e is by far the easiest to GM even with all its rules. To me it removes the ambiguity of past rules systems.
From my experience trying to make it behave like other d20 systems is the downfall of liking the game or not.
I don't think either system is "Better" but 2e is better for me. I drug my players screaming and crying into it, but after adjusting that's all they want to play.

I see a lot more PF2E games on Discord than here on the boards.
I honestly can't even figure out how you'd play a game on Discord that wasn't live. It's like my parent's VCR blinking 12:00 all the time - my ability to understand newer technology has reached its terminus, I guess.
Don't get me wrong - I'd like to understand. But I don't.

Cripes, Scranford, I thought I was the old guy here. I started with the same white box in 1977. Anyway, I agree with you in every particular here.

It'd probably operate exactly the same as on the PbP boards, to be honest. No change to the format needed. It might even work for a hybrid of live and PbP, but that sounds like an utter hassle to keep track of to be honest.
But yeah, what everyone else said: you can lurk until a 2e game comes up, either a brand new one, or an opening comes from one that had a player drop out for one reason or the other.
