Recruitment for ongoing game. We can't seem to keep a Paladin or holy fighter. Have a good well established party beyond that. Need replacement level 7.
House Rules
1) Character creation:
A) Characters will be created with a 25 point buy.
B) Classes and weapons are restricted to European only.
C) Classes are Core Only, plus Inquisitor, Swashbuckler, Warpriest. I might consider Gunslinger, but the gun powder rules are the simplified rules from Razor Coast and not Ultimate Combat. I might discuss others if they fit an old school theme.
D) Sources: Core Rules, Advanced Players Guide, Ultimate Combat and Ultimate Magic after 5th level on DM approval on a case by case basis only. Additional Sources: Lost Lands Sourcebook, Freebooter's Guide, A Brace of Pistols, Book of Magic Pirate Spells, 101 Pi The World of the Lost Lands, Pirate and Privateer Traits, Fire As She Bears, Pirates of the Inner Sea, Heart of the Jungle, Inner Sea World Guide, Isle of the Shackles and Dead Man's Chest.
E) Races Human, elf, half elf, dwarf, halfling, gnome, goblin, half-orc and orc.
2) Fumbles: Rolling a natural 1 in combat will result in a fumble ending the player action for the turn.
3) Skill checks.
A) Rolling a natural 1 on a skill check results in a -10 to the check.
B) Rolling a natural 20 on a skill check results in a +10 to the check.
4) Initiative: Rolling a natural 1 results in an initiative of a 1.
5) Area of Affect Spells:
A) The action of combat is considered a dance, therefore when an area of affect spell affects enemies that are in melee combat with adjacent characters they are considered to be in the area of affect.
B) Exceptions: Some spells are done on a line affect such as a lightning bolt and thus will not affect adjacent characters. Also the feat shape spell can shape the spell to only affect certain squares. Also spells that only affect squares do not affect adjacent squares.
6) Surprise Attacks: Amended back to RAW.***
7) Hit points: Reroll all natural 1's on hit point rolls. Barbarians can reroll all 1's and 2's.
8) Cure spells: If the die/dice are all natural 1's, reroll.
9) I don't take 10 or 20.
10) Dispel Magic I am rule 0ing Dispel magic back to the 10 level limit. If you want more than that, use Greater Dispel.
11) Note on ranged attacks: Cover: When firing through your allies they provide a +4 cover to the enemy. This is in addition to the -4 for firing into melee. Precise shot removes the latter only. Improved precise shot is needed to get around this. Now here is the kicker. If you miss by the cover, you hit the cover. Meaning you have a 20% chance of hitting your ally!
12) Giving an unconscious person a potion requires a DC15
heal check. If you fail by 5 you spoil the potion.

Hey brvheart I could play a Paladin or holy fighter if you like or even step into the shoes of a character already established that has lost their player and role play pretty much they way the had been played.
If stepping into a preset character is not something you want to do, that is cool, I can simply work with you and design a character that you feel will help augment the current story you are trying to tell.
Look forward to hearing from you.

This way you can at least look at them. Iz, we lost about six months ago. He stepped aside temporarily for personal reasons and never came back.
Sir Rhayam is the current paladin. Originally I had both in the party so two people might do this if the group is interested.

Okay if either of them came back that would be fine but would you then still need a holy fighter?
Which is to say, if they returned then I would of course return them their character in-game and we, if we have not already, would discuss what character would help the group the most. Preferably this contingency plan will have already been put into place. Just in case.
Now I have to ask which character do you want me to take over as you presented two of them?
I await your guidance (as to which you want me to take over) and your go ahead on this.

The current party:
Dwarven Cleric of Freya
Arcanist
Swashbuckler
Half-Orc Thug
Female Half-Elf Rogue 1 / Wizard 4 / Inner Sea Pirate 1 / Arcane Trickster
The favored deity is Mitra. The whole module is one of Mitra vs Set
The reason I would even consider a replacement player for Sir Rhaym playing him is that he has such of an interesting character and even has a servant with him. He was a court knight that had exactly zero experience in the field!
The party had both the warpriest and a paladin originally so I could fill both if interested.
It will take a few days to hear back from the party, they just posted and have tendency to post 3-4 times a week, some more, some less.

Hey brvheart if their is any issue with me taking over Sir Rhaym I could play his twin brother, or brother, or cousin and simply make a version of Sir Rhaym that is very similar to Sir Rhaym without exactly being Sir Rhaym.
But regardless, yeah I can cover the Paladin -- be it Sir Rhaym or someone like Sir Rhaym to maintain that element you felt was good for the game.

The whole idea seems rather strange to me, but as no one else has applied and there is no strong objection from my group I will give this a try on a trial basis at least.

is the recruitment for the campaign. Post up in the discussion and dot gameplay with your version of the paladin.

No I did not delete my profile but there was a glitch that just recently got fixed and probably would have been fixed earlier but I was away for about a week unexpectedly.
Again my account is was just glitched.
Also I was waiting on your reply about playing that Paladin as is or creating one of my own. Oh and sorry for the delay and the glitch both were outside my control.

I am reopening recruitment as our Rogue/Arcane Trickster informed us she will be leaving soon. Level Seven please. We have a rogue but he is a Thug so he is not optimized for looking for traps or picking locks. She is only level one rogue but she did it well and was a great roleplayer as well as one of the party leaders. She will be missed.

The existing Rogue in the party has the Trapfinder trait (magical traps) and Disable Device +16, seems solid. Does the adventure require more than that?
On the wilder side of things, what about a...
LG
Goblin
Monk (Zen Archer) 3 | Wizard (Transmutation) 4
-or-
Rogue 2 | Monk (Zen Archer) 1 | Wizard (Transmutation) 4
...and let the shenanigans begin!
There is a bit of synergy there for improved AC without armor, also keep him somewhat relevant if out of spells (or no useful spells).
And, there is a steep loss of BAB, sorta but I'm prioritizing survival over to Hit.
Work hard (nurture), play hard (nature).
Perhaps a monastery of a god that has magic in their portfolio or perhaps a friendly visiting Wizard took him on as apprentice.
Not sure what opportunity there is to level up during this campaign (for planning development).
Above is the general character concept, happy to tweak to fit. Collaboration after all.

Both look good, except for one thing. I am old school and do not do Unchained. I know that most people feel that it hampers the rogue, but I never had an issue playing a standard rogue and am playing one on a homebrew game at home. Otherwise looks good. And yes, I allow goblins as a PC race as long as they are not evil. Follow the original recruitment thread above for more info.
