If I were to run the beginner box for people who had never played. Is there any reason to even do it for society play? Since they wouldn't have any characters to apply rewards at the end of the session.
This isn't for a new group but just to run it for free RPG day at a local store as a one shot.

You can run it for whomever you wish!
Plus, YOU get credit for GMing it, too.
I would download new player #s and print out Chronicles just in case your players are interested in starting new characters. Some day.
I have known players who had no interest initially and then years later wanted to join. In this digital age they can more easily save a picture of their sheet rather than carrying around a piece of paper for years.
