@ Thomas Seitz: totally agree and fingers crossed. One thing I will never get from Disney though is more hard drinking, hard living Jessica Jones. Something tells me the House of Mouse will never let her brand of hero be fully realized on their dime. Still, even seeing a sanitized version of JJ would be cool.

And hey, who, besides me, is also rooting for the return of Iron Fist played by Finn Jones? *crickets* I'm guessing it's still just me then?

I'm with you on the return of Iron Fist too. I enjoyed that show along with the rest of the Netflix ones. It wasn't as good as the rest, but that's only because the rest were so amazing, simply being good still put Iron Fist in last place of the 5.

Finn Jones in the better parts of Iron Fist Season 2 and that one scene in Luke Cage showed he could be a good Danny Rand. The first season gave the actor little to do with a lot of bad writing, and I've read conflicting accounts about whether he wouldn't train or wasn't trained properly for the fighting in the role, and unfortunately Defenders sort of emphasized his worst character traits rather than his best. I would trust if they decided to bring him back the writing would be better and he would be (required to) trained hard for the part. Many have speculated that he might be introduced in a future Shang Chi title.

But if we're getting Danny Rand we damn well better get Misty Knight and Colleen Wing (and yes I know the actress who plays Misty has other obligations, but generally Marvel money is likely to help sort out any scheduling challenges, and actors frequently work on multiple projects at once).

I'd love to see a D+ Heroes for Hire and/or Daughters of the Dragon series. Jessica Jones in the comics has shown up a few times in Kate Bishop-led Hawkeye stories, indeed slightly cleaner than usual (well, her curses were all written as @#$@%!) but she still worked, and so I'd hope we see her around for some future projects as well (the rumored She-Hulk, but it'd be cool to see her with Hawkeye or other heroes as well). Heck, give us another Defenders series... or a movie.

Yes. All of this. Even if we don't get hard drinking Jessica Jones, I still want a slightly foul mouthed PI with powers helping give Kate Bishop a hand.

As for Finn Jones returning...I don't see it. I do see (thanks to Marvel Comics) we might get another Asian Hero and thus someone who can possibly be the next Iron Fist after Colleen possibly. But most definitely, we need Daughters of the Dragon and/or Heroes for Hire.

So I don't know if folks here already watch this but here's a YouTube channel I started watching for political stuff and yesterday they dropped a Marvel themed video. Some of this gets NSFW so proceed with caution, but I thought it was pretty hilarious.

Back to the main thrust of the Defenders starting to creep into the MCU... I honestly didn't think anyone was an Iron Fist/Finn Jones stan here. All of my friends IRL thought he and the show were so bad they either only watched S1 or skipped most of it altogether.

I stopped reading comics hardcore a couple decades ago (as if I haven't revealed this enough yet) but back in the day I was a fan of Power Man and Iron Fist stuff like the original Heroes for Hire. It was a special treat for me as a kid in Chicago seeing IF outmaneuver the Bears defensive line in an issue.

With as many rich stories as those 2 had together, along with the more recent stuff around the Daughters of the Dragon and Heroes for Hire titles, it just seems criminal to me that so much of that is left untapped in the MCU. I mean, if we can see D+ get the Kingpin and SM: NWH to cameo DD, but then we're doing an entire series on Moon Knight first? We can get some Heroes for Hire going.

I think the reason we're getting Moon Knight before Heroes for Hire is mostly because it's a way to introduce some of the more...supernatural elements of the MCU more organically. But I do agree, we need Heroes for Hire down the line.

(As for myself, while I read comics, I admit, I'm not the collector some of my friends are.)

I don't know who would identify as a stan (overly obsessive fan) but while I disliked a lot of things about Iron Fist, especially the first season, it was almost entirely the writing and direction I had a problem with. I thought the second season was markedly better, especially as it went on; it's just a shame so many people (understandably) disliked the first season they didn't give the second a chance. Though there are many shows where the 1st season was rough and then got considerably better; unfortunately Netflix I think would have cancelled when it did regardless of how good things were doing. They wanted to get out from under Marvel's thumb.

Apropos of nothing, that probably explains a lot of differences in our perceptions of Marvel comics. While I've read some Marvel books from time to time throughout my life, from early childhood to my mid-thirties I primarily was a DC girl, mainly following its more or less street level stuff like Birds of Prey and Huntress and Catwoman and Robin/Nightwing titles and the like (with the occasional smattering of higher power tier Wonder Woman and JLA). Then when the New 52 came out, they either outright cancelled every single thing I was subscribed to at the time, or so dramatically transformed it and changed the creative team such that I was no longer interested (the only New 52 book that interested me was Amethyst and then they cancelled that pretty quickly because it was so niche). At the same time, Marvel had begun putting out some stuff that began grabbing my attention... Future Foundation, and I think Fraction and Aja's Hawkeye was from around then (my memory of what came out when is a little shaky). Soon after Ms Marvel and Charles Soule's short but awesome She-Hulk series. There was a lot of stuff that was easy to jump onto (and I am aware of the irony that many new DC readers felt the same way about New 52 or at least that was the intention) and I got into that. So while I do have some vague memories of 80s F4 and 90s XMen in my head, and of course I've filled in/looked up key moments of Marvel comics history, what has happened in the last decade+ fills a lot of my sense of what Marvel Comics events and characters are like. Someone who primarily read decades ago would no doubt have a very different feel for things, with a lot of big and small retcons and shifts in power levels.

Why not all of the above? :)

I mean DQ has a point...

Hi all! Yesterday I renewed my Disney+ subscription for the month, so that I can catch up with things.
I've seen all of this series now and liked it. :)

I'm glad you enjoyed it Eric. Now if they can just give us some time table on the REST of Marvel TV that would be great.

Thanks Thomas!

Looking forward to seeing What If and Shang-Chi (and The Eternals later in the month).
