Streaming the pretty train POV while I try to edit.

New stream! The old one was literally doxxing me. It's fixed now. :P

Well, that IS cool!

And look what arrived today to match!

Literally holding myself back from asking the mods to delete my account in a fit of melodramatic Really Not Liking TwilightKnight pique.

I love how I made a thread specifically to be a safe space to simply talk about our issues with a game system we like without being dragged into endless arguments and now I'm feeling like s#~% because over a dozen people got pissed at me for it. I cannot win.

yeah hi I'm in the late night bad emotions place again, as I so often am, and it's coming out in very self destructive ways

I love that thread!

Always remember KC: There will always be people who take anything that they disagree with as a personal attack. Which is why making ANY statement calling for compassion and kindness anywhere is a brave and courageous act.

We're here for you to vent at. We can take it. :)

...you ordered an actual united Paizo worker? Thats a bit extreme but okay. I would order the Paizo worker kit myself so I could build them on my own time, but I know you've been busy of late.

Finally started Holly Days shopping. Better late than never!

In case you're wondering how Oregon works, my parents' neighbor happens to be friends with a tree farmer, so he just got five trees to give out to whoever. So we got a beautiful tree today for $0.

Pathfinder Lost Omens Subscriber

Neat! Is the United Paizo Worker you ordered setting it up? :>

3 people marked this as a favorite.

Actually, we had to put her in the closet for now. Not a lot of space in the apartment lately. But we did a lot of cleaning, and we got our tree set up, so that's nice!

Closeup on the ornaments. My best friend made most of them, except the Minecraft bee, which I put together myself.

Pathfinder Lost Omens Subscriber

Neat.

We don't put the ornaments on the tree anymore -- we don't entertain, it's a pain in the tail, most are works of amateur art, and we have a sometimes rambunctious feline over-lady in the house.

The past couple of years we've put up the tree for about two weeks (day or two before Christmas, down on the 5th of January).

Between working the essential grind and trying to decompress, there's scarce little time anymore to do cultural touchstone things now.

I didn't get to do a lot of this stuff the last two years. The Holly Day rituals are important to me, and this year I finally managed to make time. :)

Oh, gosh, I offered to submit art to Wayfinder and almost immediately regretted it. My portfolio art is terrible. it's not even a real portfolio. I know I should stop thinking about it but aaaaah

I swear I know how to draw hands I just made the contours too subtle on that image, just zoom in a lot, honest

I do not normally decorate for Yuletide, unless I decide to give the pink flock Chairman Mao moneybox a pair of sparkly antlers.

At least *some* of us do.

Stick figures are a challenge for me.

Used to be able to write a description well enough in words that pretty much any artist could grab it and let their imagination run wild -- and it'd match what I had when I wrote the textual description.

Now? Well, I've either gotten rusty or haven't been able to capitalize on the talent.

So hands are awesome!

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I'm definitely going to start a "I'll draw your character" thread in a bit, just for practice. I'm no Hugo Solis, of course. :P

Oh, I guess that's why I Hid the Succubus in a grapple thread.

I really need to write edit this morning. This afternoon, I should say.

Gosh, this is a good video. I really hope we get to the place where media is filled with fun messy queer rep sooner rather than later. That's something I appreciated about She-Ra and The Haunting... .

ow

Well, I volunteered to draw for Wayfinder, and tonight my art got rejected, and I really didn't expect that to make me cry like it did. I really wish I could enjoy doing things I'm bad at, but I don't. I really don't and never do.

I'm so sorry.

Eh, it's fine, I just needed to process it. It's something I really need to work on.

It's not a complain.

Congratulations on your transition to catgirl!

Every thirty minutes of drawing, my brain ticks to "if you don't work on cleaning up your art, it's never going to be considered professional", and I have to remind it that I'm trying to not care if it's professional, I just want it to look nice to me, because I don't have to be able to produce "professional"-looking art because I'm not a professional artist.

Pathfinder Lost Omens Subscriber

My personal experience as a commissioner of art is that the 'best' and 'most professional' grade work comes from folks who DON'T try to make it 'professional' but make it art they create.

care and passion show in art IMHO...so I second Wei Ji there.

IMHO there is such a thing as perfect soulless art, which is in fact not actually good at all.

Okay, so let's see here. I'm a little behind on the Pathfinder APs, but recent talk about them has made me curious. Let me take a stab at this. Fifteen words or less and a genre guess, not gonna check my answers. I have only played or started to play a handful of these.

Rise of the Runelords: Small-town adventurers become heroes helping out around Varisia and eventually battle an ancient wizard-tyrant.
Genre: Classic fantasy adventure with a lot of "people are awful"-based horror.

Curse of the Crimson Throne: Tyrant queen possessed by evil chair. Rando street toughs become her goons, eventually overthrow her.
Genre: Murder mystery/intrigue/thriller mixed with standard adventure hijinks.

Second Darkness: Noir protagonists venture into the depths of elven scandal to foil drow space alien apocalypse.
Genre: General noir vibes

Legacy of Fire: um. there is an efreeti. I'm guessing it's set in a desert place like Qadira?
Genre: ... Arabian Nights??

Council of Thieves: Would-be revolutionaries enlist thieves' guild to fight Chelaxian cops.
Genre: Guild intrigue/political thriller? Was there some devil stuff involved, too?

Kingmaker: Bold explorers enter River Kingdoms and establish new society, fending off dangerous First World beings.
Genre: Fantasy adventure/exploration followed by a sort of longer-span slice-of-life+adventure+intrigue storyline

Serpent's Skull: explore the ancient jungle and tread on the snakes
Genre: racism

Carrion Crown: The goths are up to no good again! Time to hunt some vampires!
Genre: Gothic horror

Jade Regent: Ameiko is the rightful Queen of England, time to take her to Camelot!
Genre: ... it's, like, intrigue past the first adventure, right? I'm guessing intrigue for a lot of these and that can't be like. Is there a war?

Skull and Shackles: Press-ganged sailors turn to piracy and, I assume, defeat the King Pirate.
Genre: ARRRR

Shattered Star: um... space aliens. I'm gonna say it's scary evil space alien stuff.
Genre: Cosmic horror?? Alien?

Reign of Winter: To avoid being eaten, Baba Yaga's daughter plots to make it always winter, never Christmas.
Genre: I got a melancholic fairy tale vibe from this AP. It doesn't seem like a very happy story.

Wrath of the Righteous: Mythic heroes get really mad at someone, probably beat up the tarrasque.
Genre: something something "they're making Pathfinder fighters anime!"

Mummy's Mask: An evil dead king inhabits a magical mask, local tomb raiders try to stop him.
Genre: I'm gonna say dungeon delve with a dash of high fantasy epic.

Iron Gods: Conan-types kick the crap out of some big evil robots, befriend some.
Genre: musclebound cavemen with huge swords fighting alongside hot trans robot girls to kill HAL.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Giantslayer: Whoops, the big boys are back in town. Better fight 'em real good.
Genre: I am pretty sure I have described the entirety of the genre above.

Hell's Rebels: Viva La Resistance! Except only in small city, rest of Cheliax fine way it is.
Genre: Revolutionary intrigue, I'm guessing maybe some 3 Musketeers vibes?

Hell's Vengeance: oh geez the rest of Cheliax is mad oh no oh s@@& we're sorry we're sorry
Genre: "Evil D&D", which basically tends to be its own genre because "evil D&D" rarely follows normal genre conventions like "motivations making sense" or "characters being remotely likeable"

Strange Aeons: Aeons not included. It's actually about Azathoth and cultists.
Genre: Cosmic horror, except the heroes have superpowers so it's probably not that scary

Ironfang Invasion: *music starts playing in background* uh-oh
Genre: Kung Fu Panda 2 but with hobgoblins, yes this is very specific, I am 1000% positive I'm right about this from what I've heard

This is where I stopped paying attention to PF for a reason because my life got chaotic, so I'm gonna take a minute because this is about to launch even moreso into "well, the title sounds like..."

Ruins of Azlant: I'm guessing this is something to do with aboleths. Aquatic adventure path?
Genre: I'm thinking sort of a mysterious underwater historical exploration adventure, like the Disney movie but with more Lovecraftian sea monsters

War for the Crown: Some adventurers get dragged into helping one faction fight for a crown. Galt, maybe?
Genre: War/intrigue, maybe some ancient exploration angle I'm not thinking of?

Return of the Runelords: *music starts playing in background* uh-oh
(the six other Runelords are back, gotta defeat/redeem 'em all!)
Genre: Epic high fantasy, sort of a follow-up to RotR.

Tyrant's Grasp: Six dead men have to uncover the crimes of Aroden to defeat the Whispering Tyrant.
Genre: Horror/exploration/extremely sad/high fantasy save-the-world Age of Worms stuff. I really want to play this someday.

Age of Ashes: Demonic invasion from the Worldwound, or dragons. Unlikely heroes must unite to save their homeland
Genre: Sort of a grim-and-gritty fantasy epic.

Extinction Curse: *music starts playing in background* uh... what? I'm guessing involves planet-hopping and dinosaurs. Maybe Kellids?
Genre: Science-fantasy epic

Agents of Edgewatch: Cops on beat must clean up the streets... and the clocks of their corrupt bosses!
Genre: oh, geez, this is embarrassing. I seem to have accidentally put the same genre for two entries. I'm so sorry, everyone, the card just says "racism" again. Wait, maybe if I flip the card... oh, yeah, here's the actual entry--it says "badly-timed copaganda".

Abomination Vaults: Classic megadungeon crawl in scary ancient vaults! Enough said!
Genre: Dungeon crawl! I know what you're thinking--will they ever publish a dungeon crawl with tons of roleplay where you get to romance the monsters? buddy they won't even let ME romance them

Fists of the Ruby Phoenix: There's an evil monk called the Ruby Phoenix. What ought to fly has learnt to punch.
Genre: I'm guessing this is a martial arts/wuxia-type AP.

Strength of Thousands: Students attend a wizard school, but events beyond their control send them to the stars.
Genre: High school drama/fantasy adventure, science-fantasy elements. Honestly, this AP sounds really cute, from what I've gathered. Which isn't a lot.

Okay, so I got them all right, right? No need to double-check?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I'm not really trying to make fun of the adventures' writing, to be clear, with one or two exceptions like Serpent's Skull. I genuinely do not know a lot about these APs, aside from, for the most part, very broad strokes.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Age of Ashes is basically about preventing Dragon Batman from becoming Dragon Hitler.

Extinction Curse would be: Run a circus, crush your rivals, Aroden wasn't as smart as he thinks he was, and then prevent an environmental apocalypse while befriending some puppy people and petting dinosaurs. Nose plugs are required.

Hell's Rebels: Sheriff Nottingham expy goes drunk with power and tries to make not-Normandy burn. Oh, and some locals get pissed beca -- "Mah cabbages!"

Less Three Musketeers, more American Revolution with Cheliax filling the role of England, not very many foreign allies.

Shattered Star was actually more runelords, not space aliens. Though there might have been an Eoxian somewhere in there IIRC.

Extended collect the pieces of the artifact quest.

Nutbunnies! I didn't make that prestigious list! I should post more to take on these subjects when they come up, but the people on the list do it so well, I feel like I wouldn't add anything. All of you do such a good job!

:)

Sure are a lot of trans people on that list. Weird.

His profile also quotes Jordan Peterson and Ben Shapiro.

Shadow Lodge

Two huge red flags there.

To be fair he doesn't attribute the quote to Ben Shapiro, because that'd be too mask off for him to maintain plausible deniability.
