It's early still and who can predict how things will change from now until May, but...
Any plans for a physical Con or will PaizoCon 2021 more likely be a virtual event again?
My bet is virtual:
The vaccine roll-out in the US is going pretty slowly, and there isn't much time left to make the reservations and down payments on all the convention space and hotel space that is needed to successfully run a large in-person convention.
The other uncertainty is attendance. Even if Paizo staff are willing to risk running a convention when they haven't all been vaccinated, huge swaths of their potential attendees are also in at-risk populations who might not have been able to access both shots by then.
As a comparison, the Glastonbury Festival, an outdoor event which attracts hundreds of thousands of people, has been cancelled for the second year. It is normally held at the end of June (June 23-27 this year), and they've already announced its cancellation.
This is the time I will need to put in my vacation request for PaizoCon.
Honestly, the earliest I would even consider attending an in-person convention would be September 2021: Given the slow roll-out of the vaccine and my demographic, I'm not expecting to be able to get the vaccine until May/June at the earliest.
If there is going to be a PaizoCon at the usual time of Memorial Day Weekend, it's going to have to be virtual again.
Any idea as to what the dates will be?
