The Haunting of Bly Manor

The new series dropped yesterday. I'm just three episodes in, but I'm enjoying it thoroughly. It has some similarities to Hill House, especially with the (subtle and not-so-subtle) placement of ghosts in various scenes.

There are carry over actors between each series as well. The dude who played Luke Crain in Hill House is playing a British dude/ghost in this one. And I've got to give him credit now for getting rid of his British accent when he did Hill House. The main character, Dani, is played by the chick who played Nell in Hill House.

All in all, I highly recommend it.

Finished the story last night. Overall, I enjoyed the hell out of it. The setting was cool. The acting was well done. The story was weird, but excellent. For me, the best episode was the penultimate one....

...where the origin of the haunting is revealed. The (mostly) black and white was a nice touch of atmosphere.

Personally, though I did enjoy this series, I think Hill House was far superior. For me, the Hill House atmosphere was creepier, and the story more tragic.

I really liked the Hannah character, and wish they hadn't done what they did to her.

On another note, I was looking for info on the manor used in the show (as inspiration for a CC3 map), and found out that each episode title is apparently from other Henry James ghost stories. That is cool.
