Idea for a druid build I've not seen before...

Advice

Okay, this might be a dead end BUT...

Imagine a halfling druid that exploits the benefits of being really small and maximises dex. There is weapon finesse, piranha strike and risky striker. If somehow a scimitar (a probable feat or see below) came into play there could be dex to damage from dervish dance...

Level of urban barbarian... Extra rage... Possibly alchemist?

Just musing, all thoughts welcome.

Why a druid?

Going for wild shape into something tiny? It could work; monkeys and xiaos have hands for your scimitar/flame blade or whatever.

One guy wanted to use flame blade as a bat while still being able to fly. I didn't approve but some GMs might.

Sovereign Court

Agile amulet of mighty fists, choosing tiny or smaller options with Wild Shape = profit?

I know on my fox shape 'fighter'(actually Occultist) I used Dweomercat Cub with a Beast Shape 4 scroll for when I needed to buff up.

Piranha Strike doesn't stack with a Scimitar since it's a one-handed weapon. But if you were angling for an Agile AoMF then this isn't an awful idea. The only issue is going Halfling for Risky Striker...I'm pretty sure that, as written, a Halfling Druid doesn't Wild Shape into creatures that are a size class smaller than ordinary.

After taking 4 levels in Druid, I'd have you take levels in Unchained Rogue and start doing Sneak Attack Damage. You'd get Dex-to-Damage on 1 Natural Attack.

It can work. I have an 11th level halfling druid with really nice dexterity. She is focused on ranged combat with spells (with pbs/precise shot line) but a close-in brawler would work as well.

What I really like about a dexterity based small sized druid is that at 1st level you can start off with a Roc AC. At will flight at first level is just amazing.

You send me sone details on that?

Thanks for all the replies so far. Small size, possibly multiple attacks and using piranah strike/risky striker seems the way forward? Looks promising.

I played a storm Druid (Link) that went diminutive or tiny (usually something with flight). He was primarily a blaster but was no slouch in melee with an amulet of mighty fists. He was human and he would begin combat by casting fog cloud/obscuring mist/etc and blasting. In melee he would use hit and run tactics and get one big attack.

The key for this build was storm Druid getting 2 domains and being able to spontaneous cast domain spells. Taking cover in fog to reduce the likelihood of being hit and using spring attack to avoid attacks of opportunity (remember tiny or smaller creatures have to enter their opponents square to hit which provokes an attack of opportunity). With dex pumped up, planar wild shape, and frostbite you can put up decent damage with one big attack (usually a bite). Also, buy a ring that will allow you to communicate with your party (don’t waste a feat).

Anyway here is what I remember:
S: 9, D: 18 (16+2), C: 12, I: 10, W: 17, Ch: 7 (20 point buy)

Traits: not sure what is called but there is a trait that lets you get the lighting sub domain

1. Weapon finesse, Dodge
2.
3. Mobility
4.
5. Natural spell
6.
7. Spring attack
8.
9. Planar wild shape

There's a thread out there about something like this ... here it is:

THE SONGBIRD OF DOOM

I've never really looked into it, but I'm sure there are some good ideas for you in that thread.

Thank you again, myself and archives and Nethys are now conjuring... Full casting also being an option!

Blight Druid-13/Agent of the Grave-5... Shadow of the Woodlands feat makes it possible for Druidic Necromancy.
