It’s probably something obvious I’ve missed after reading through the scenario but.....

Plot Spoiler (a):

Is there any relevance regarding the track list that is provided as Handout 1? I can’t find any further mention of it in the scenario.

Plot Spoiler (b):

Is the conspiracy you investigate in data breach, sugar star heartlove etc resolved in this scenario? I can’t find any mention of that organisation in the scenario so was wondering if that conspiracy is still afoot and the events here are separate to that investigation.

Plot A) There's a purpose. I'll leave it to the peoples to figure out. :)

Plot B) Sure has not been resolved. Sure is a thing we're still exploring!

Initially, I did not fully understand Handout A. I was prepping hard and fast, and it was all I could do to get the rest of the story prepped. I will tell you though that when I GMed, all three of my groups figured out the purpose of Handout A. People love puzzles! It will be awesome. Trust me.

Spoiler:
The incorrect letters spell out "help me" but is there something to ready set go being a 5 hour song? 5 Help me .... but i don't see anything else. Is that a "the song says the same words over and over for 5 hours" joke or pointing at historia 5?

As a GM it would be nice to actually get the solution to a puzzle in the scenario so we can present it properly.

I just played it yesterday, and I'm now prep'ing it for Origins. We came up with two things in our game.

Spoiler:
The "help me" that BigNorseWolf mentions, and tracks 1-7 representing Historia 1-7.

I just recently played it as well.

Spoiler:
Our group figured that everything that's not part of the "help me" message is just random scrambling so the misspelled words don't stand out that much, which Historia-7 did to not alert Historia-Prime to the secret message.

On that note, another question:

about the chronicle:
The "Always Prepared" boon says it's an Ally Boon in the boon's title, but the text says that it's slotted as a Social boon once it's activated. So which is it, an Ally Boon or a Social Boon?

Song 1

Spoiler:
My guess is that the length of the first song is a hint that Historia-1 has lived an unusually long life.

When I ran it, they got the missing letter almost immediately (had a person who has a 'thing' for word puzzles).

Though they did hit me with a few curve balls. And with that--since I hope that other GM's will have a single place to come to do some background prep--I might slightly hijack this thread for a couple of thoughts. And I will spoiler it to just make certain that it isn't just out there to see randomly.

Questions:
There is almost Zero information about Historia Prime up to Historia 6. What did they look like (we do get a little on Historia 4)? Male, Female, Non-Binary? How about roughly when they were 'serving'? ESPECIALLY if the players decide that they REALLY want to find out why Guidance of all people sealed Historia 3's records? I know scenarios need to be kinda open on some things, but if you specifically have a super hard DC on a Computers (and at level 8...DC 30 isn't "Super hard") and it says that Historia-7 was researching on the past iterations, and that Historia-3 records were locked by Guidance....that is a nice plot hook that can send people on a tangent almost immediately. At least I didn't have much of the 'personalities' left to have to roleplay with 5 and 6, basically automatons of Prime. But this is a scenario that I honestly thinks should have been maybe 1-2 more pages long, just with more history and descriptions on the previous Historia's.

And after that spoiler...anybody run this on the low tier feel that the fights were just a little too easy? I did have a five player table with a decent spread (Exo-Mechanic 8, Operative 7, Soldier 5, Drone-Mechanic 5, Mystic 5, so APL=6) and they basically 1 rounded everything except the final boss. I know a few of the 3-6 and the 5-8 seem that the tier 3-4 or the 5-6 are cake walks.

I think it's about how you do the fights as well. A level 7 Operative is going to do a bunch of damage and auto-flat foot every enemy, which can be a problem especially in low tier.

For example, the 2 Historia's on the Bridge, I had them go to the back as part of their first turn movement, and lure the PCs past the shocking bridge controls, that really helped extend the fight and make it interesting. The first fight was pretty simple, and the final boss had them in trouble to start with.

It wasn't a total cakewalk but as a GM I had to get creative, and high initiative helps. So that's got luck behind it too.

The operative still needs to hit to make someone flat footed.

Only to make it flat-footed for everyone. If he makes the trick attack they are still flat-footed to him for that attack. But yeah, he still has to hit to make it easier for everyone.

Wow, so I only noticed this myself over a year later. I don't suppose anyone has heard any word on this one?
