Many of the prices for computer upgrade options are variables based off of the base cost of the computer itself. However, there are many non-standard computers out there, such as the datapad, computer interface armor upgrade, or a starship's computer. When upgrading non-standard computers such as those, is the base price used in the calculation based on the computer's tier, or on the device's price listing?
A computer interface armor upgrade, for example, is priced at 6,000 credits despite being a tier 1 computer. Should it then cost me 600 credits to add an artificial personality (10% of the market price) or only 5 credits (10% of 50, the base price of a typical tier 1 computer)?
If it's based on the item, and not the computer tier, how do I handle upgrades for things that don't have base prices, such as a starships computer, which uses BP?

I think it's based on the price of the computer as an individual item, not the overall item it's incorporated into.
For ships, I might houserule allowing some upgrades for cash prices based on the tier of the computer. But note that some of the security upgrades are priced in BP. So I might not allow cash.

So...upgrades are priced by the tier of the computer as described on the table at the bottom of this page?

Sort of. That's the price of the basic tier of computer. Upgrades and countermeasure costs are on this page, and where a percentage is listed would refer back to the price on your page.

That's what I've been saying.
I was just making sure we're on the same page.
