Variety.com: Lucasfilm confirms cast for The Mandalorian:
Pedro Pascal as The Mandalorian, along with Carl Weathers, Gina Carano, Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow, Omid Abtahi, Werner Herzog (!!!), and Nick Nolte.
Jon Favreau is executive producer and lead writer for the series. Confirmed directors for episodes include Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels), Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates) and Taika Waititi (What We Do in the Shadows & Thor: Ragnarok).
The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. It follows the travails of a lone gunfighter (Pascal) in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic. It will air on Disney+ in 2019.

Looks good, hopefully they'll drop an official trailer in a week or so. The trailer for Clone Wars season 6 looks really good too.
It won't happen in season 1, but I really really want the Mandolorian to have an onscreen "rematch" against Hafþór Björnsson.
I'd watch it. Except I can't afford to pay for Disney's streaming service.
It's supposed to be $6.99 a month, plus the cost of your high-speed Internet service and whatever device(s) you're watching it on.

Just watched the first episode. Blew me away. They got it right with tone, and little details.
I really liked
The one bad thing is at the end of the episode, they did'nt show a trailer for the next episode.

After seeing Ep. 1 twice, I can report the level of detail the show-runners have placed on this project is phenomenal. The design aesthetic, from the aliens to props to the costume design to practical effects, are clearly a poignant homage to the original trilogy.
This show FEELS like Star Wars, a heartfelt sentiment that is both a warranted sincere compliment and thankful answer to lipped hopes and prayers.
God Save Favreau and Filoni!

I loved all of the small details they included, from the same tech in the doorbell that Jabba the Hut had, the Life Day reference, and making sure to feature visually similar bounty hunters from Empire (the droid and the Tandoshan in one scene).
The ending was fantastic, can't wait to see where they go with that.

I have a minor gripe about the Mandalorian and the others we saw in the episode where he gets his new armor forged. "Star Wars: Rebels" is now, at least from what I have read, considered canon. In that show, Sabine and other Mandalorians remove their helmets readily. Why is it different with the new series?
I also have a gripe regarding the trailer for "Skywalker Rising". I won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it, but it's established in "Rebels" that the stormtroopers already have the capability to do that. Hmmm..

Tradition changed after “The Purge”? Different groups have different traditions? There are plenty of reasons this could be the case. Even in Clone Wars we see different groups behaving different ways, from Death Watch to the pacifist home word to the groups that are more like what we see in Rebels.
For Rise of Skywalker, maybe these particular characters just haven’t encountered Stormtroopers doing it until now.

I believe it's down to the Mando's individual clan. Each clan has their own rules.
Not only is REBELS canon but many of the people who worked on it (including Dave Filon and Jon Favreau) are working on THE MANDALORIAN, so they would be aware of the issue.

Finally got around to getting my Disney+ account (just that one, not the three-package). The wife and I have now watched all five available episodes of The Mandalorian.
I'm thoroughly impressed. The story is pretty cool so far. The series looks magnificent, with great effects and action scenes. I'm excited to see where they're going with this.
As for differences withe these Mandalorians and others - I'd agree it's just different practices by different clans. I think it's still cannon that the Mandalorian culture/religion is several thousand years old, at least, so differences would make sense.

I was blown away by the season 1 finale. So much cool s##&.
Finally got to see Mando without his helmet, and hear his actual name spoken. Which, for the life of me, I cannot remember.
Magic Hand Thing!
I was happy to see Carl Weathers and Gina Carano survive. Hopefully, we'll see them both in season 2.
The Darksaber!!! HOLY S!+& BALLS!!!
With Mando given his new quest of either raising/training the child, or returning him to his family, maybe we'll finally get further insight and info into Yoda's species.
Can't wait for the next season!!!
