So according to the guide you can use it to expend a downtime to gain extra fame by teaching a new student. And when you have earned 40 fame with the boon your student graduates (and can be playable with bonuses).
I'm wondering if it only counts this extra fame towards the 40 or if it includes all of the fame you earn on those scenario sheets towards the 40.
This is probably just a wording problem, but I thought I’d clarify:
The Instructor boon does not gain your character any extra fame. Any scenario you have it slotted you can “check off a number of boxes” equal to the Fame you gained in that scenario. If you use your downtime after the scenario to perform additional instruction (as opposed to making a day job) you can “check off” one extra box. That doesn’t change the amount of Fame you have. Once you have “checked off” 40 boxes your student graduates.
