I'm running a #1-00 session this Friday and #1-09 next Friday. I think its common knowledge that these should be played in this order, but a player had a pointed question about this.
The PC he's planning to play #1-00 with will reach level 5 prior to #1-09's release. Will whatever advantage or boon playing these in sequence still be available if the #1-00 chronicle sheet is applied to a different PC as played in #1-09?

The boon itself says you don't need to play the character you applied 1-00 to:

MINOR SCENARIO SPOILER: But yes, the #1–00 boon does apply to #1–09 and we used the following verbiage in the scenario: "If a player has earned the Claimant to Salvation boon (Starfinder Society Scenario #1–00: Claim to Salvation) for any character, the PC she played in this adventure""
So your friend is good!

I assume that by about July, we'll hit a point where players who've kept up with one character find the need to start branching out into new characters to keep up with the content.
didn't last until July! I started my primary character at Gencon 2017 and have played every single event from 1-00 and the quest pack all the way through - until i hit SFS 1-12. With SFS 1-11 behind me, my primary character hit 5th level, so was not able to play SFS 1-12. i had hoped to play every scenario at least for a year (at least until Origins 2018), but I'll also be missing out (with my primary character) on SFS 1-16 as well, which is also a 1-4 LVL scenario. I'm good with that, as long as Paizo continues to do like they did with this pair of adventures, where if at least ONE of your characters plays the scenario, they ALL get the benefit. of course, for story continuity of the character, i'd rather the same character play each connected part, but if that is not possible, then at least i can still gain the benefit.

They likely won't do that for everything but some things may work like that.
