Seeking like-minded souls. Players and a GM

Recruitment

Never thought i'd be one to make a thread like this, but it seems my current group of adventuring buddies are adverse to the idea of an all kobold game.

What i'm looking for and will hopefully find is 4 other friends to be my fellow kobolds and one great sky dragon for us to follow the words of, aka, a GM.

I'm pretty well open to any campaign, minus the city-heavy ones.

My -big- favorites would be:
Kingmaker
Skull & Shackles
Jade Regent

Because there is nothing like a kobold-run city, ship, or dynasty.

Anyway, here's hoping this game gets a good look and the flock of like-minded kobolds come in.

This is probably the best idea anyone has ever had ever.

Though I think the kobolds would be better suited for less serious pursuits, like exploring ruins and such. XD

Ah, nonsense. Kobolds are like the closest thing to dragons, so we're prepared for the most serious of adventures.

Skoll Sharssak agrees, or at least it was until it lasted only 100 posts. Hopefully you can find one that runs to its conclusion.

I'm currently in talks with a GM I know who has an amazing track record for APs and such.

Silver Crusade

I hope you find someone. If my table weren't already over-full, I would offer you a seat in my group of goblins and kobolds (all redeemed) who just finished the first book of the Ironfang Invasion.

I'd give it a try. Though whoever runs it, I highly suggest going with very forgiving rolled stats or epic fantasy point buy given the Kobold's... Strengths... And Constitutions...

Liberty's Edge

I can see this being super fun, I'd be down to make a character for this sort of campaign.

Good news, everyone. I've acquired us a GM. I need players now. Give unto me the days your available and times, along with a character idea, doing 4d6 drop the lowest.. I promise to be forgiving with the dice.

hmm.. sounds fun. im down when we get things going :). im available everyday from 5 pm on, tho i can play via my phone for an all the time

Oh, is it not going to be a play by post?

I find games are a bit more survivable when not pbp. XD

Ah, then I'm gonna withdraw. Can't really do set time games. Have fun though!

Liberty's Edge

I haven't scheduled my next semester in college but I'm definitely free on the weekends, and I could probably handle after 5 as well.
Stat 1: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 5, 5) = 17 dropping 1, 6+5+5=16
Stat 2: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 6, 1) = 13 dropping 1, 6+4+2=12
Stat 3: 4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 2, 5) = 18 dropping 2, 6+5+5=16
Stat 4: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 3, 3) = 11 dropping 2, 3+3+3=9
Stat 5: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 3, 6) = 18 dropping 3, 6+6+3=15
Stat 6: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 1, 4) = 15 dropping 1, 6+4+4=14

Lemme start off the trend of hopefully nice rolls.

stats: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 4, 2) = 12 = 10
stats: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 6, 6) = 16 = 14
stats: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 1, 1) = 11 = 10
stats: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 4, 2) = 11 = 10
stats: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 4, 5) = 14 = 13
stats: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 5, 6) = 20 = 17

Maybe not something like that, 2nd time's the charm?

stats: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 4, 1) = 11 = 10
stats: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 1, 3) = 11 = 10
stats: 4d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 1, 6) = 16 = 15
stats: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 5, 6) = 15 = 14
stats: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 3, 3) = 14 = 11
stats: 4d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 5, 3) = 18 = 15

3rd time, dicelords?

stats: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 6, 1) = 14 = 13
stats: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 5, 3) = 14 = 11
stats: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 6, 5) = 17 = 15
stats: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 6, 1) = 10 = 9
stats: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 5, 1) = 14 = 13
stats: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 6, 6) = 19 = 17

Workable, lets all try for at least a 25 PB in your rolls, folks.

I am very interested, though it seems we could just do 25 pt buy.

4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 3, 4) = 15 12
4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 4, 6) = 17 16
4d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 6, 4) = 19 16
4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 4, 6) = 15 13
4d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 1, 2) = 10 9
4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 3, 4) = 17 14
29pt

4d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 4, 5) = 17 15
4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 6, 6) = 20 17
4d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 3, 6) = 21 18
4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 1, 1) = 8 7
4d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 5, 3) = 12 10
4d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 6, 5) = 19 17
42pt

4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 4, 3) = 13 10
4d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 2, 4) = 12 10
4d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 2, 2) = 16 14
4d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 2, 2) = 13 11
4d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 4, 1) = 11 10
4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 3, 1) = 12 11

OR

We could just use 25 pt buy so that all characters ability score arrays are equal.

I'm also available on weekends.

Your argument is fair, even if I love rolling. 25pb it is.

Liberty's Edge

I personally vote for a point buy, my highest stat being a +3 mod is kinda sad, lol. I guess I'm on a 33 point buy though so I can't complain too loud. I'd like at least two 18/17s to eat that -4 and still have a decent couple stats

edit:I took to long typing this, lol. IGNORE ME!

OH, Kobold color variants are allowed!

edit: I'm having to remember all the kobold tidbits as i'm creating one.

Liberty's Edge

Alright, I'm making an unchained rogue for this. Will be be doing a lot of underground stuff or should we grab dayraider

Pretty even mix of day and inky darkness, especially if we consider how dark it gets under water

Max starting wealth, we'll need it, friends.

Liberty's Edge

what level are we starting at?

We'll be starting at 1st lvl, 2 traits, 1 being the campaign trait for Skull and shackles

Okay, so I have gathered together from the various areas the classes and colors of their kobolds.

Myself, A "Fearless" Black Kobold Swarm Fighter.

Vill, A True-shooting Copper-colored Kobold Bolt Ace

SinneD, A yip-yapping White Kobold Bard

Raynor, A kobold of unknown scale that rocks the rogue lifestyle.

Get those submissions in folks and we'll be ready to sail the high seas of kobold suffering together.

Liberty's Edge

Could I propose a custom item? I've always wanted to build this and I think I've found a way to make it more than reasonable.

Hidden Blade
Cost 75 gp Weight 2 lb
Damage 1d3 (small), 1d4 (medium); Critical x2 Range -; Type P or S; Special -
Category Light; Proficiency Simple
This 4-inch blade is attached to a modified spring-loaded wrist sheath. With a flick of the wrist, a spring thrusts the blade outward, where it locks into place until it is reset. Releasing the blade is a swift action, and resetting it is a full round action. A hidden blade is easy to conceal: an observer must succeed at a DC 22 Perception check to notice the hidden blade. You can only wear one hidden blade, or wrist sheath per arm. You may hold, but not wield, a weapon or other object in a hand while the blade is ejected. You cannot use a hand weilding a hidden blade for spellcasting.

I thought with the Kobolds natural trap building abilities if anyone were to figure out a way to build hidden blades they would. Assuming everyone is okay with the hidden blades here's my character: presenting Alt.

I do believe there are rules for designing custom weaponry, which i'll post a link to, but that looks quite reasonable.

Custom Weapons

Liberty's Edge

I just combined the spring blade and the spring loaded wrist sheath rules. I didn't realize anyone had posted so my character link is in my last post. I just edited it.

Lookin good. Just means we need a kobold cleric or oracle of some sort.

Liberty's Edge

Using the custom weapon rules would and dropping the swift action eject (because there's not a thing for that) and the perception check (also not a thing) they would cost 4 gp and have the same stat block. From what I've read the custom weapon rules are a little broken, lol. I would also be very happy if I could potentially craft them for half price using craft (traps) with the appropriate rolls.

I am not sold on this idea....however, a fun thought I had was a Dragon druid. The problem is that drakes are really bad. Is there a chance for a little revamp? Or should I look into my other options.

Sadly, dragons are mechanically a terrible option, and i've never taken the time to looking for ways to make them better.

Fair enough. Thoughts on SLAs being used to qualify for "able to cast X level spells"?

If it says some and not all, then sure, but one SLA does not a lvl 1 or so spell list make.

The purpose was early entry into mystic the urge. I had an interesting and amusing idea for a kobold theurge. But, late game they can be pretty powerful.

I'm thinking of a Dragon druid, if I can switch out the drake for the Dragon subdomain, or an Oracle with the Dragon mystery.

Looking over the two, i'd recommend dragon oracle, and with the scaled disciple feat, you can qualify for dragon disciple and it's arcane spells.

I was gonna go a little bit of dragon disciple for the druid as they can spontaneously cast summon spells. Some fun mix between wild shape and supportl casting.

The oracle I was going to go straight full caster and support casting with the dragon revelations.

I’d play that.

I think maxing at a party of 6 kobolds would be enough, so if I don't get responses back from Pyx and Raynor, I can see about another kobold
