Are necromancers viable yet?

I was thinking of playing an Eoxian devotee of Abadar who is adventuring to gain capital to start his undead laborer rental business. He saw how effective it was on Eox and saw an opportunity.

The best way to realize this concept is probably with a Mystic using the Healing Connection. It sounds counterintuitive at first, but all of the healing abilities you get with that connection can be used to heal your undead minions (there's no language that says otherwise in them).

However, Create Undead is a 4th-level mystic spell which means that you won't be able to actually create undead laborers until 10th level.

I have no idea if it's viable yet as I've barely looked at mystic - but dear lord I love this concept. Great idea.

Being a direct control necromancer of a massive horde isn't possible yet. One of the reason most of the undead on Eox are independent of a Necromancer is that even the Bone Sages wouldn't be able to control a planet of Undead, unless they have stronger undead creation rules than we have (possibly, but as those are unwritten goes back to it being unviable for now)

Don't forget that the most powerful Bone Sages are old and powerful enough that they would be using the equivalent of mythic/epic rules.

It sounds like the pact world book is going to have some eoxian playable option. For right now there are a fair amount of necromancy school spells. Probably mystic would be the best way to go although technomancer could be fun too.

Right now you could not get a big horde of undead but it could be interesting playing a "newer" eoxian working to try to advance themselves into becoming a bone sage. It does sound like eox is open for "recruitment" so it seems pretty viable.
