Cybernetics vs. Biocells

Rules Questions

So is there any advantages to paying the extra 10% for biocells instead of regular cybernetics? Because Im not sure if cybernetics can be hacked or short circuited. Can they?

They shouldn't be able to be, the very first paragraph on implants says that they're no more or less vulnerable than your natural limbs and can't be targeted by such. I'd say the main difference is appearance. As the GM I'd say such implants are harder to spot(though far from impossible). And it might change reactions depending on where you are. But mainly I'd say flavor. Is your character going to want as chrome an arm as they can get for 100 creditS, or would they pay 110 to have their old arm back again?

For cybernetics in particular, there is one key line a bit later on that is important.

That and the price are the only distinction. I'm afraid I can't tell you off the top of my head what in the CRB can target cybernetics, so I'm not sure if that clause is actually relevant yet. But that is the main mechanical difference between them; cybernetics can hypothetically be hacked. Biotech cannot. At least, not in that way.
