So I've read the computers section pretty closely, but it is a lot to digest. My question for everyone is what are you going to do with the computers your character will own? I plan on using a miniaturized computer with the AI upgrade to support my Android's poor social skills. What uses do you guys plan on?

Sorry for derailing your question. Though there is mention somewhere that personal comm units can be used to play games, or as a flashlight.
Seriously, scenarios can be written to require computer hacking, or to have NPCs trying to hack your computer. Buying a more expensive computer makes your computer more secure versus the enemy's Computers skills (and vice versa).
You can control non-Mechanic drones, defensive systems, perimeter security. Store the data that everyone is trying to steal, or steal back after you've stolen it. Electrocute hackers.

Core Rulebook page 133
You can take 20 on a check to identify a creature, but only if you have a means of performing research, such as access to an information network like a planetary infosphere or a downloaded data set (see page 430); this typically takes 2 minutes.
taking 20 to recall knowledge is on the same page, and has the same rule about having computer access.
If you see the monster coming, it might be awfully useful to take the 2 minutes to look it up on Wikipedia with your portable computer before you engage it ;) Also, if you are on a primitive planet, far from your ship, there might not be a public terminal you can use, so your personal computer will be the only way to do any research.

Get it small enough to wear on my wrist, and then stuff it full of spell chips for my technomancer. I'm not seeing an upper limit to how many a computer can hold, and having all the spells with at least one casting seems like a decent use. I mean it'll be less than 200 for each first level, and you never know what you'll need. Probably also some hacking, because why wouldn't you.

Because you don't need a computer to hack, just a toolkit (hacking).
But yes, it's going to be awesome to have loads of spellchips for it.
