Ok. A difference from Pathfinder that I had not realized before.

Thanks Protoman!

Nevermind Shwar!

Shwar,

Shouldn't Humans have +1 skills per level? That field seems hard coded and not adding that properly.

You add your skills, level, BAB, HP, Stamina etc all manually. This way you can choose to add 4 skills (for example) in the class row, and then 1 in the extras, or 5 in the class row. Completely up to you!

I want to try and keep the sheet open for custom classes and races, so therefore the user needs to manually add their class values. This could be automated, but I'm thinking that either there will be confusion for BAB and Saves, or I lock down the classes and races to the crb.

Hey there. Love the fillable character sheets made by Gilfalas, but I was curious if anyone was working on one for Drones? I have my mechanic in a nice fillable character sheet, but my drone is back in the stone age on paper! Send help!

Shwar has a pretty good page for drones. Check his out. No reason why you coundn't use his drone page and Gilfalas' for the rest.

Has anyone made a HTML character sheet for Starfinder? Would you like to contribute one to a community use project?

This Google Sheets Character Sheet is the best one I've found for an HTML style one. The guy that made it makes fixes quickly if you post in the reddit thread with any bugs you find.

Dotting the thread. :)

Good to have some free digitized character sheet stuff out there for SF or otherwise. ;)

I'd really like to see someone make a form-fillable pdf version of the Starfinder Character Portfolio. Anyone know if someone is on the track of doing this?

Err assuming you mean the Starfinder Player Character Portfolio, that's not a free product and I don't think would be allowed to be posted anywhere.

very true though i do hope that they make a form fillable folio eventually that would make the 10 bucks worth it IMHO

Liberty's Edge

I would do freelance work for them for a small fee.

They don't even have (for now) form-fillable sheets. They should really make free official form-fillable PDF character sheet and ship sheet to go with the their regular non-fillable sheets.

The community has came out with fillable PDFs of the official sheets. Why would they want to go through the effort when it has already been done? I put them right after they were released.

It just seams like a practical thing to have an official form-fillable sheet in these modern times and it's really not that big effort to convert from a non-fillable PDF to a fillable PDF (at least it shouldn't be for a companies). I'm aware of the various community-made sheets but I'm talking about the official version which would be identical to the original sheets just form-fillable (not auto-calculating). There are also people out there who don't really read forums and don't really follow what the community does but will notice official products highlighted as such on the web page.

well i like the character folio a lot but its not form fillable and i would personally pay them for a form fillable folio

Just pointing out, the PF character folio is a *lot* older and doesn't have an official, form-fillable version.

Just wanted to add my voice to the chorus of other saying "Thanks, Gilfalas!" I was waiting to make my first Starfinder character until something like this came out. The whole family made characters yesterday using this sheet. We posted them in their current versions at the Poison Pie Publishing House.

It includes a PC, Hotmjessnir (just call him Hotmess!), Space Goblin Ace Pilot Operative.

Hey, from a spelling maniac, "Destroyer" is mispelled as "Destoyer" in the pulldown menu for frames on the starship sheet. Please fix!

Probably not a big deal but for my PC's I have been putting a T or Tool next to the skill when I have one or buy one. That way I know I have it without looking in the skill notes section and or my equipment.

I'm a big fan of HeroLab, but it's gotten to the point where adding new content to Herolab is almost as expensive as purchasing the books. Yes, you can buy bundles, but those of us who have been using it for years, already have an assortment of material which is in the bundles.

Hi Shwar!

Question for you: Am I missing something or is the "skills rank by levels" not behaving correctly?

When I make a character's level, "skills rank by levels" only increases by the character's int modifier.

For example, if I take a Mystic (6 skill ranks/level) with 12 int (1 skill rank/level), at level 1 it shows 0/7 correctly, but at level 2 it shows 0/8.

Am I misunderstanding what this field is about?

I've been working on a Starfinder Character builder/generator tool for about 6 weeks whenever I've had time, I have it up here .

It will allow you to select race, theme and class, calculate attributes and skills. That's about it so far, but even that has been a lot of work.

It still needs a LOT of work but Its public on github and written in angular 1.6 if anyone is interested in contributing message me and I'll send you the github location.

I haven't compressed any of the resources so it takes a long time to load, but it exists and I'm working on it.

If anyone tries using it and finds any bugs, please let me know.

Gilfalas,

A suggestion for the Starship Sheet: add a box for players/GMs to track current shield power. It is an important piece of information that was left off by the Paizo designers.

Hi! I noticed a flaw in the Operator setup on your sheet. The Operator specialization grants two Skill Focus feats in the two skills associated with the specializtion and it also grants a free rank per level in those two skills on top the normal ranks you can take.

For example: Operator lvl 3, Ghost, with an 18 Dex will automatically have 3 ranks in Acrobatics. It gets +3 class skill, +4 ability, and +2 from Operatives Edge, and +3 from Skill Focus. That comes to a skill of 15.

However, on your sheet, it comes to 13 and adding the free ranks (6 of them) causes a negative indicator.

Otherwise, it appears to be a really well done sheet as far as I can see. I like that I can fit it to a single sheet in particular, which is very handy.

Note, while you get a free rank per level, you still can't exceed the maximum number of skill ranks allowed per level.

So you can't put 1 skill rank into Stealth and also add the free skill rank per level if you are only 1st level.

Hate to necromancy this thread just a tiny bit, but I had a question. I know that your standard fillable sheet supposedly doesn't play nice with Foxit, but has anyone else had a problem when adding skill ranks to the Life Science skill? When I do, it doesn't calculate properly and is treating the ability mod and the class skill bonus as part of the same number, so if I have 1 rank, an ability modifier of 2, and the class skill bonus, it'll come out as 1+23.

I have seen 3-4 similar complaints about calculation and display issues with the sheet, though this is the first time it was on Life Sciences.

In all the cases reported to me so far it was non Adobe/Acrobat PDF viewers or phone/tablet PDF viewers that seemed to be the problem.

The actual formula for how skills are calculated is absolutely identical for all the knowledges and sciences, with the only differences being the field names for values, so I have no idea why that particular skill is not displaying properly for you.

Can I ask what PDF viewer and OS your using and what version of the sheet?

In my home game we have 7 players using 3 Windows OS's (7,8 & 10) on 7 different laptops/tablets all using Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat and no one has had any problems.

I am not sure you meant to quote my sheets on this since they do not have class drop downs or checking on them.

Having said that, in the example you post, you are adding 'Operatives Edge' and 'Skill Focus' together which does not work. Both are 'Insight' bonuses so only the greater one applies. That is most likely why your losing those 2 points on the sheet you're using.

Also as pointed out in another post, you can never have more ranks in a skill than your character level, even if you get free ranks from your class.

I'm on Windows 7 64-bit, Foxit version 9.0.1.1049, and the sheet is the Starfinder Auto-fillable Character Sheet v1.06.

I cannot stress enough that Adobe Reader DC works perfectly with my sheets. Foxit is not supported and as long as you use it as the PDF reader there will be problems.

Wish I could help more.

Liberty's Edge

Have to echo Gilfalas. Need to use an Adobe product. Browsers don't work well with fillable PDFs.

Pathfinder Maps, Starfinder Maps, Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

Unfortunately, GoodReader doesn’t work with the fillable sheets. I used Adobe Reader DC to fill in the sheet, just wanting to view the results with GoodReader.

I suppose I will need to work around it by printing to PDF.

Where is the version of the sheet indicated?

BretI wrote:

If this is in reference to my character sheet, the version is on the first page, in the upper right hand corner, under the "STARFINDER" colored logo.

Current version is still 1.06

For the Starship Sheet it is in the middle of the top just to the left of the words "Starship Sheet".

Current Verion is still 1.02.

Just DLed the character sheet, and I noticed an issue with the trained skills. However, thanks to a friend of mine, I found a way to fix it.

Note: I use Foxit, so I'm not sure if this problem occurs on other PDF readers, but I haven't seen any references to it.

As it is now, the trained skills have a weird thing where, if they have at least one rank, the total comes out wrong. Example: Having 1 rank in Computers as a class skill with a +3 INT mod will result in the Total field saying "1+33" rather than 7.

I used PhantomPDF to look at it, and here's how the math looks in the last couple lines of the calculation script for the Computer skill (lines 00008 through 00010):

event.value = b + getField("INTMOD").value + c + getField("COMPMISC").value}
else
{ event.value = "" };

To fix this, put a *1 after each value, like so:

event.value = b*1 + getField("INTMOD").value*1 + c*1 + getField("COMPMISC").value*1}
else
{ event.value = "" };

Just thought I'd share this in case anyone else is having the same issue.

Thank you very much for this information. I will try to get a fix for this up in the next 1 to 2 weeks and see if it solves the issues Foxit users have had with the sheet in the past.

I have updated the 1.07 sheet to 1.08 with fixes requested by users for the problems with the check boxes, the check marks would not print so I have changed them to solid boxes to try and address this. I also added multi line ability to the weapon 'Special' fields while increasing the field size slightly to try to enable better functionality with weapon special effects text.

Looking at how you are handling the extra skill points, I see you are adding the Int mod to total skill point at the top under the classes.

I suggest adding the points gained from Int to the total available skill points instead.

I see you do the same thing for stamina. That might be confusing adding the ability modifier there.

Is there a way you can track how much Reputation points you use? And you buy thing with it does lower your Reputation points?

Acquisitives

I have a question about Reputation points if any can help. My question is there a way you can track your Reputation points? like you use it to buy something from you faction SFS.

Gilfalas Character sheet 1.09 is out.

Now is the 'Modfied' attribute fields that determine the bonuses used on the sheet. This should be more intuitive.

So the 'left' column will be to record the base, unmodified states. The right column will determine bonuses for the page calculations.

Not trying to necro an old thread, but I've been looking for a sheet that is form-fillable and doesn't automath. Any suggestions?

I looked into Gilfalas' sheet, but it keeps telling me I don't have access to it and I have to request permission through Google Drive.

Just ran into the same issue as Phodra. seems Gilfalas has decided to no longer share his form fillable character sheet any longer?

It seems google changed some authorization values on those sheets. I am not sure how or why it happened but someone recently brought it to my attention and I am updating the links now.

Try them again and if you still get authorization notices please let me know with a message here on Paizo.

Click on my name and use the links in my profile for the updated links.
